  1. Their "tradition" is alive and well today in Pittsburgh. James Harrison is a real good example of a Can't State athlete. Josh Cribbs is a good example in the other way (talks with the grammar of a 4 year old) but at least he's not a classless loser. Which hit would you describe as classless? I assume that's what you're talking about. The one on Cribbs, he was a running back at that point, so totally legal. Or the one on Massaquoi, when he took 3 steps before getting hit by Harrison? Anyways, I would describe him as more of a winner than a loser. At least Can't sucks though, I'll agree on that Neither hit was legal. They were cheap shots and Harrison deserves to be fined! Cribbs was already going down, so he lead with his head and wend right into the side of his helmet. MoMass was exactly the same as the TJ Ward hit he got fined for. Just goes to show you the extremes a team goes to in order to win. I guess the Browns could have targeted the steelers running back, but we're not that kind of team. We don't feel the need to knock guys out of the game to win. Want a comparison, remember Singletary's punch on Linhart? Punch our best player? refs missed it until they looked at the replay...wanted to ignore it... Can't state is classless the steelers are classless oswho is classless
  2. It's a RIVALRY game, of course they are going to get people there. I bet you all the rest of their games will be empty. Ticket prices do not keep people away, a bad team will. If someone wants to go to the game $5 and $15 is not a big deal. That's like saying I'm going to pay $45 to watch the Browns, but not $55. Don't blame our marketing/athletic dept we have a terrible team, just leave it at that. It's the process of coming to the game, parking, walking, sitting on hard bleachers, poor weather, and a bad team. It's not the money, it's the thinking "do we really want to go all the way there to just watch them lose again?" and the answer will always be NO. Another pro example, look at the Indians attendance this year. Terrible! Do you blame their marketing dept or ticket prices? no, they are terrible, but guess what when the Yankees come to town they draw a large crowd. It was a rivalry game, so people are going to be there. A good team fills the house, a bad one empties it. Everyone knows Akron has a football team, and they know all too well how bad we are. Until that changes, no one will go to the games, even if it's free.
  3. Ampi's in 2nd place now...really some person from Elon is in first. We need to step it up, no way that Ampi should lose to this guy...
  4. The difference is that we suspend our players for more than one game for minor transgressions while they either do nothing or suspend them for a single game for getting out-and-out arrested. Exactly, I don't understand why it is so difficult for them to comprehend the difference....
  5. I love how the Can't fans on Ohio.com are trying to act like we're all criminals. As bad as this is, isn't it different when a player gets suspended by his actual team, as opposed to being arrested. Or are they just too stupid to realize the difference? I don't know but that Fred guy on there needs to be punched in the face too. I love how he spends his entire life posting negative things on Zips articles. I guess it must suck being a 40 year old pizza delivery guy living in his mom basement....
  6. dude you're just proving out point that OSwho fans are all idiots... half buck half flush
  7. People wonder why I hate the Suckeyes so much. I love the whole "you don't like them because they're good" response from those fans. This video just adds to the hatred. - You have soccer players blast the ball right at an opposing players face, after play has stopped. Your coach supports this? - a starting quarterback who shows up to a ROSE BOWL dinner with his thugs wearing freaking jeans? - Trying to sue OHIO university, for using the word OHIO and anything with an O on it. - You steal license plates from any cars from Michigan. - you have fans that claim to be lifelong fans just because they went to their local walmart and buy a knock off red jersey. - I see a million OSwho shirts on campus every day, when you are clearly a student at UA why not just wear a Can't shirt? anything else i missed?
  8. Randy Rhodes and Kurt Cobain just rolled over in their graves being likened to a Karaoke winner. nirvana?
  9. I'm going to extend my garage analogy out to the nearly absurd here, but...you also don't build the nice new fancy garage so that you son's garage band can practice in it and you so you can host back-yard barbeques. Look at some of the musicians CSU hosted up there....off the top of my head I remember hearing about Jay-Z and Carrie Underwood. There's no reason why that can't be us...
  10. People don't realize a new arena could be used for more than Zips sports. High schools and obviously the cavs, Lebron's crap, concerts, and other events and shows. It's not just 3 sports. Why do you think Summa and Infocision payed millions? for a stadium that houses a team that won't win a game this year? No. Infocision stadium is the largest and nicest stadium in this area, an arena could have the same effect. It would be "the place" to have BIG events.
  11. ... chairbacks for all, PLEASE?!?! I've pretty much accepted the fact they will not be building a new arena for some time. But they can renovate! I would like to see them get rid of the track first, knock out some walls, expand the seating behind the baskets, add ribbon boards like at InfoCision, maybe a new jumbotron, chairbacks throughout, add suites and press boxes, and some exterior imporvements to make it look like an actual arena. Is that too much to ask for? haha
  12. Always a good day when Fred gets schooled!
  13. Oval designs are better than circle arenas. Notice there's a ton of space between the front row at center court and the actual sidelines. The UCF Arena is a better arena to use as inspiration. Oval/square design, two levels and all chair backs. They are also a public school and have just recently built a new football stadium.
  14. It's 2010 NO ONE cares about race any more. He makes it seem like everyone who hates him is a racist...really? So what were Cavs fans last year when we worshipped the ground you walk on. Please Lebron, if you want to associate yourself with Akron and UA, could you please use some class. No one cares what race you are, we care that you are being a jacka** and have angered about 9/10 of the US by being that way. Think about this one you "king": Do people hate Art Modell because he's white?
  15. kind of mad they said 7,000 at the game? It sucks because it makes OSwho look good...let's just hope we beat them and let's hope a majority is Akron fans
  16. have you seen overtime in the NFL???? Talk about irritating I HATE the NFL's overtime rules. How can you have sudden death in football? It basically goes down to which ever team wins the coin toss will win. It is unfair seeing that one teams offense might not even make it onto the field for a chance. It would be just like if an MLB game ended in sudden death, and a team losing without even getting the chance to bat or in soccer, but only allowing 1 team to take PK's. Just not fair at all, and although it is a cruel way to lose a game, at least each team has an equal chance.
  17. Come on now akzipper....you aren't being very classy..... Yeah owning that school in every sport isn't very classy of us either. Maybe we should at least give them a chance to win something so they can stop crying!
  18. I will be the first to admit that our football team isn't playing well this year. But if NIU fans want to compare schools...please. The last time NIU made national news for sports was in 2005, and why was that? because they LOST to us! We are nationally recognized for our success in several sports especially basketball and soccer. So we will probably lose Saturday to a school that 99% of the nation has never heard or nor cares about. I hope they keep talking crap.
  19. I think we could have beat Indiana. But Coach I made a bad play call on the 4th and 1. You don't risk it with a pass. If we had actual receivers on the team I would for sure. Nicely had a perfect pass, but it was right through the guys hands. I understand we ran 2nd and 1 and 3rd and one, but you just can't rely on these guys. All you can do is learn from your mistakes Coach.
  20. More like the 3 employees left and there were 3 positions open at a better job. But he picked a "job" at a worse company so whatever...
  21. He must be selling something they can smoke? if you think your making the tournament with 8 wins good luck. I've never thought of that as an at large bid, but who knows the tournament could expand to 200 teams and they will make it.
  22. Doesn't make sense to me. I would understand if he narrowed it down to better schools than UA, but those 3 are terrible. TCU was 13-19 last year. really is that impressing? Rice hasn't made the tourney since 1970. 8-23 last year with only 1 C-USA win. Santa Clara? 11-21(3-11 WCC) really man? Doesn't make much sense to me either. Of course a lot of big program coaches said the same thing about Zeke when he committed to us. Too many variables go into recruiting, and we may never really know what lead Dylan away from the Zips and to one of these other schools. Well look at us. Zeke saw a great school, plenty of chances to make the tourney, great coach, and of course we can win. Rice had 8 wins all year! I don't see how a kid would pick a college destined for failure. But hey I guess thats the thinking behind Can't students decisions...
