Lot of different players getting reps today (to our detriment, IMO)...we may have also lost Matthison and Qualls thus far based on whose been out there the past couple of possessions (mostly Stewart and Naim).

I'd personally take the approach of selling out to stop Patterson and see if Vantrease can beat you. Granted it was against BG, I liked the changes the staff made to our DB's last game. Moving Watts to the outside, starting Cochran at FS, and adding Amankwaa to the other outside spot. I'd like to see them get tested more going into next year.

No issues with the staff as far I know. He wasn't afraid to take on players who had a checkered past, though to their credit I don't know of any public issues while they were on campus. For frame of reference, Tyreek Hill was supposed to come here at one point after being dismissed for his heinous act at Oklahoma State. The "homegrown" players mostly seemed to just have issues passing drug tests, like the QB mentioned above. Arth had some early issues with TB players last year with that as well.

He is the spell back. I assume the move was made as the only scholarship RB's that were behind Dollard were true freshman after Gest went down. I don't have an issue with his involvement considering what our RB1 is doing. I don't know if Hicks quit..he may have. He's still liking/retweeting Zips-related tweets. Regardless it seems like Stewart and Qualls were clearly ahead of him on the depth chart.

We have a game the 12th and the 15th leading up our conference opener on the 19th. Those two prior to conference play seem like enough, assuming we couldn't start any earlier due to COVID. It hit us....it is what it is. Better now than in conference play when that actually means something for conference tourney seeding, affecting our chances to make it to the dance, unlike a random OOC game. Don't you guys think if we could be playing, we would? You know...like the women's team is....

I imagine the coaches get a look at him in practice. He's a walk-on. Probably wouldn't know who he is if it weren't for a few twitter accounts hyping him.

Regarding QB, I think you are looking at a competition between Gibson, Deshields, Marousek, and the JUCO QB next year. I wouldn't count on Jankowski since he's a true freshman. Regardless, I expect/hope one of those 4 can at least be a solid MAC QB. I don't write off Gibson yet, but he needs competition for sure and I think the coaches realize that too. Other posters said it was a close race with Deshields. Much better competition at the position than with Terry Bowden. I'm old enough to remember we finished the season against Ohio with WR Tyrell Goodman playing QB (and a drop from Jojo Natson away from winning).

I've seen some talk elsewhere about BG having 60 freshman and giving them time/using that to excuse the loss. Its not like we have 58. Feels good to be ahead of them at this point in the rebuild. Lot of similarities regarding the current state of each program.

Reghi is so bad. He has been messing up the down and distance all game. Just called a 3rd and 13 3rd and 3 and thought they got the first down.

Watts is so much more impactful on the egde rather than nickel or FS or wherever he was before. Hopefully the change is permanent. He is a baller.
