  1. Big hit Bubba!!
  2. I might be wrong, but I think it was actually 3rd and 11 (even though Reghi said otherwise). Another TD! Guys, I think we might not only beat a FBS team, but blow them out!
  3. tight end sighting!
  4. For some reason i'm not worried about us blowing it. If we do though....whew...I might lose all rationale.
  5. Bleh ending.....little Zach issue, little OL issue.
  6. I think that was Michiah Burton with the punt block. Gavin Blunt with two huge plays on special teams today.
  7. Holy Sh!t!!!!
  8. then we f up the 4th down play..................Gray might have been right though. BG player looked like he was in the neutral zone.
  9. Looks like Norrils overtook Boogie as the 2nd RB?
  10. Here we go!!
  11. BG is blitzing the corner/LB off the edge on the slow developing hand off every single time. Let's adjust!
  12. Its looks like Cochran and Amankwaa are starting instead of Riley and Obgonna today..hard to confirm though with our horrible camera angle.
  13. It was 3rd and 20. I'd take the points rather than a turnover...
  14. Got the lead....now lets see if the defense shows up today.
  15. This offense looks like crap outside of a few Dollard runs. Luckily BG sucks as well.... I'd consider benching Gibson already..he has no control over the offense...consistently snapping with 1 second left on play clock.
  16. All kinds of talk about the Buckeyes being down 20 players today. We are down 20 assuming everyone is available every week.. there should really be exceptions to the annual limit of 25, especially in today’s transfer happy environment.
  17. I did the same. Their discussion isn’t too different than ours! Feed Dollard and I like our chances. BG has the worst run D in the nation.
  18. I prefer they be on the team, but the truth is, while all hyped upon arrival, none of them ever did much on the field, save for a few plays from Morris a few years ago. Morris and Wolfey were injured more than they were available. Meeks was OKAY. Hayes-Patrick had walk-ons getting carries before him last year. I'll concede they may be leaving to experience winning - i don't know the answer, but these transfers aren't something that only happens at Akron. Kent State also has 4 players in the portal..I assume none of them are transferring for the chance to win.
  19. Awesome part is we may even get LCJ for an additional year beyond this one. However, I unfortunately struggle to find a reason where it would make sense for him to do so. He's a fifth year senior, so should have his grad degree at the end of this school year, if not already. I also don't think another season would change his pro opportunities, assuming his goal is to pursue those initially. https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/30116895/ncaa-grants-extra-year-eligibility-all-winter-sport-athletes
  20. My Initial thoughts: 1) Would the CFP Administration LLC be willing to give up that revenue/control, or would they even have a choice? 2) Maybe i missed it, but I still don't understand how we got here to being with. Meaning, why was there never a FBS championship regulated by the NCAA? 3) My interpretations of the solutions being suggested are either drop to FCS, which we can already do in current state, or join the new NCFA (if we meet criteria) and maybe get a little more of the CFP money and potentially look at limiting the out of control spending. I don't see the top 20 or so programs voting to give the G5 teams more money or "leveling the playing field", so we would really be counting on all the regular members of the P5 to vote in our interest I'd think. I was doing some reading on Reddit the other day and even many P5 fans are fed up with the current format as they also don't see themselves as having a legitimate chance of making the playoff in most years or have their season "matter" if they aren't playing in it. Here is a more recent thread regurgitating the same thoughts: https://old.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/k6l35d/stanz_kirk_herbstreit_says_hes_worried_about_the/ If we can get to a solution where we financially benefit and at least have the G5 with us, i'm okay with it. If we get to a solution where maybe the top 30 programs do their own thing and everyone else is together, i'm okay with it assuming we financially benefit. If we drop down to FCS/are in a similar or worse spot financially, then it just doesn't make sense.
  21. I really hope you are right. It's certainly possible. My expectations for the upcoming years are also very similar to yours.
  22. A lot talk about DIII coaches and giving them credit for Xs and Os. Surely I'm not the only one who remembers what Arth did at John Carroll. Definitely the only reason he was hired at UT-C and probably the only reason he's here.
  23. I find the lack of depth/experience/talent/player availability makes it really hard to tell. Ex. are we wasting timeouts/having delay of games because the coaches aren't getting play call in on time or is that a Gibson issue? Are offenses picking apart our zone because we don't have the personnel to line up man on man? Just my opinion...I'd be happy for anyone's more detailed analysis either way to try to persuade me.
  24. I, and I imagine others, appreciate your insight. Are you able to share how Arth & Co are selling Akron to your son? I haven't seen him make any excuses yet, but the reality is he does have a lot going against him, though some is his doing. I think he's playing the long game in his strategy where Terry Bowden went for the immediate fix. I would personally take the approach somewhere in the middle (more transfers, less high schools kids than he has done historically). Its easy for an ignorant observer to put down the program, but most don't realize how short-handed we are scholarship wise, as one example. Just curious what the other side looks like.
