  1. Here you go. Excludes all players who are in the portal. You can trust what I post or not, up to you. The list is likely not 100% accurate, but its pretty close. Really its a group effort since there are some posters on here who know more than I do especially when it comes to walk-ons or players showing up after signing day. This list was started from scratch something like 3 seasons ago and there were some assumptions made. Zips Football Scholarship Chart.xlsx
  2. Who knows what happened last season with a new coach and COVID, but this is an article hyping him up in camp during his true freshman season (2019). https://spartanavenue.com/2019/08/14/michigan-state-football-anthony-williams-jr-answer-rb/
  3. Another Michigan State player! FYI - the same day we lose Boogie, we get a RB commit from a P5 transfer. Coincidence?
  4. Bubba leaving would be a big blow, but I don't think it makes sense unless there is some strong loyalty to Bowden. At this point, the list of last year's contributors I'd be disappointed to see leave to another program: Randy Cochran, AJ Watts, Bryce Wilson, Janirr Wade, Bubba, entire starting OL, Dollard, Kelley-Powell, Corey Thomas Jr, MJ Horton, any TE, Qualls and Mathison. Those are players that I think losing hurts our team. Others are either too young/not enough playing time to make a judgment on or just aren't going to cut it. Scholarship numbers are important regardless, so we should be trying to limit attrition as much as possible so long as we aren't able to get up to the 85 limit.
  5. So neither of these will count towards this year's counters due to the rules, but have strong reason to believe this tweet is in reference to Beckman and Bischoff receiving scholarships. Beckman started the entire year on the OL as a walk on redshirt freshman. Bischoff has been around a few years, and did somewhat okay at ILB next to Bubba. Started there ~half the games this season.
  6. Boogie is another player I’d prefer to have stay for numerous reasons, most of which have been mentioned above. Coaches elected to move him to back up RB and play walk on WRs many snaps rather than keepin him at his starting position. With the WRs coming in, the prospects on getting Cole Gest back, and what Norrils showed against Buffalo, I don’t see where there was a route for him to get much playing time next season. He might go to another G5 program, but I don’t think I’d expect much else than what he did here. I think he’s a better fit for FCS or even D2 if he wants to get substantial playing time to finish out his career. Best of luck to him.
  7. Right now - if LCJ doesn't play lights out - we are a below average MAC team. I love the Enrique story, but he still looks like our second best player and that shouldn't be the case. Players need to step up. These games can happen against this gimmicky style of play as well. Luckily we have a cupcake lined up next with NIU before a showdown with Toledo. I'd like coach to shorten the rotation up some, but I'm sure its difficult since nobody is really standing out.
  8. Horrible first half.
  9. I don't see a point in passing it to Ali in the low post if he's going to be hesitant with it.
  10. And an offensive board and put back!
  11. Enrique giving us some life!!
  12. 1 and 1 and Eastern doesn't even put anyone up to rebound the free throw. Such a damn boring and gimmicky style of play!
  13. They sure are calling it pretty tight against us!
  14. I'm liking the insight Hawkins is generally providing. I hate this zone. Taking deep threes probably won't end well for us.
  15. If so, maybe he’s seen our comments on his hopeful replacement and a fire has been lit? We know he reads this site.
  16. Eh, I'm not of the belief KD should have ever been fired. That would have been real risky. However him leaving and stealing our players and recruits still leaves a sour taste in my mouth, so I am not disappointed to see that he might have already peaked in the A-10 and it may not be good enough for the dookie faithful. At the end of the day I think all would agree it worked out with Groce after having a few years of patience. I think it will be interesting when LCJ is gone. When I think of his success in the MAC, I think of DJ Cooper and LCJ. The star combo guard seems pivotal. I don't think Tribble is that player, and that isn't anything against him as he's a fine player - just doesn't fit the mold IMO. Clarke may be based on the limited action we've seen. Last year's postseason being stolen from us still burns. Programs in the MAC can't take good years for granted as opportunities to prove yourself in the dance are very slim.
  17. Deshields lost out on the QB battle to Gibson this year and with much more competition coming in, this makes sense. No need to have him clog up a scholarships the next 2-3 years. Best of luck to him. Unfortunately at this point I now believe its not going to be possible for us to get up to 85 unless someone who has entered the portal decides to return.
  18. To be clear - 1 secondary coach left for the LA Rams after 1 season and Lett is leaving for a coordinator position at similar school after 1 season. I don't know if special teams coordinator is a promotion or not, but it seems it is. If both left for promotions, is coaching the issue?
  19. Jamael Lett took what I believe is a promotion from secondary coach here to special teams coordinator + defensive assistant at South Alabama?
  20. I don't recall him cussing out the coach. I thought he got a cheap personal foul on the field (maybe threw a punch and got kicked out), and Arth got in his face about it, which is deserving. I'm not going to call him a cancer as I don't know and his attitude didn't seem out of the ordinary from what I could see. Some probably know more than I do, I'm my opinion is from the outside looking in. I also believe he initially came back here due to illness to a close family member. Reality is, he wasn't able to get on the field much here and has not thrown any low blows in his departure (unlike Akron's own Jonah Morris). Best of luck to him.
  21. I tried watching but that style of basketball in that D3 looking gym was boring me. I took a peak at their message board after I saw they lost to bottom dweller George Washington. This is supposed to be their team that comperes for the title. They're fans are complaining about rotations and foul shooting..sounds all too familiar. He even submitted an incorrect roster card at the start of the game and got a T for it. The honeymoon phase has seems to have worn off and they want more than just going from A10 bottom feeder to mid-tier conference team.
  22. Looks like he is moving on from "the band". https://footballscoop.com/news/sources-terry-bowden-hires-defensive-coordinator-and-more/
