  1. Honestly they are probably in better shape with the changes. Tree was one of my favorite players to watch as a Zip, but both he and Harney are kind of an embarrassment to the program considering they were each kicked off the team.
  2. Leave it to the Ivy League to figure it out first. @GP1 https://www.barstoolsports.com/blog/2619837/ivy-league-could-be-the-first-conference-to-implement-a-spring-football-season
  3. Yea, any stadium restrictions outside of no fans likely aren't going to stop anyone who wants to go to a game from going considering we are rarely above 50% capacity.
  4. Looks like an English rugby player at tight end. Interesting.
  5. Yes. Still counts as a scholarship.
  6. If I'm not mistaken, this is Romeo Travis' cousin.
  7. From following this the past few years, all recruits will eventually be rated. Many don't get rated until they commit or potentially closer to or on signing day. Roach will definitely be a 3 star. Maybe 1 or 2 others in addition to him so far in the class IMO.
  8. https://pittsburghsportsnow.com/2020/06/19/penn-hills-db-noel-roach-fell-in-love-with-akron/
  9. What about the Serb or the guy who punched out Kostelac? edit: missed the part about transfers.
  10. nice. may be the best commit of the class so far.
  11. 1 down, 1 to go. Good luck finding much on the new signee, but this is our freshman big.
  12. Subtle way at letting us know we got a new transfer? DB from Michigan. Two years to play and eligible immediately. 4 star coming out of HS. https://www.si.com/college/michigan/football/michigan-football-jaylen-kelly-powell-transfer-destination-akron-george-floyd-message https://247sports.com/Player/Jaylen-Kelly-Powell-78974/
  13. Another L for Hoke. This time from an Ivy League school.
  14. Cleveland State getting creative. https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/education/cleveland-state-will-cover-the-cost-of-spring-semester-if-freshman-successfully-complete-fall-2020?fbclid=IwAR1Ka2cHkyEFoGeSh0G94M7rT_UClZBEtPK_cEokkB5KCOpwXrhyohnrzvc
  15. Looks like we have hired former Coventry HC, Ed Egan, to be Director of recruiting/high school relations. This position was previously held by Alex Kline. Looking at his twitter, he still appears to be involved with the program, so curious to what his new role will be if he is.
  16. I agree..always going to be an uphill battle until we put together a few decent seasons. Two diamonds in the rough were actually our most impressive freshman last year - AJ Watts and Mike Mathison had a combined zero FBS offers outside of Akron. Whereas two of our highest rated recruits in program history (Hayes-Patrick and Corey Thomas didn't do much at all). Thomas even redshirted.
  17. and that 3 of the 4 haven't been ranked yet, not that i'm expecting anything crazy, but it doesn't take a genius to understand the formula and how the rankings work.
  18. So uh...whats the hold up on these last two scholarships?
  19. The runners still literally have indoor and outdoor track seasons, along with all women's running sports still there. Why do they need not 1, not 2, but 3 different seasons? I'd like to see what all is being including in the operating expense figure - maybe bus rides and hotel and thats it? Actually I don't even see how that could be under that figure. Maybe its legitimate, but clearly a misleading figure that is really splitting hairs considering it clearly doesn't even include coaches salary.
  20. The P5 and their exuberant salaries are what is driving the G5 prices up. There are strength and conditioning coaches making more than every single HC in the MAC except Candle. Its impossible for us to hire a coordinator at a top school. Doesn't seem like too long ago where that would have been a legitimate possibility. Some sort of coaching salary cap/redistribution might be worth considering, though I'm sure the OSU, Alabama's, etc of the world would never let that happen.
