  1. We shot 47% from the floor, 62% from the FT line, and had 12 turnovers, and led by 15-20 for the majority of the game. We are averaging 45% shooting, 62% from the line, and 16 turnovers per game so far this season. Utomi shot 7/12 (better than season average) and had 1 turnover (lower than season average). Duvivier shot 4/9 (better than season average) and had 1 turnover(lower than season average). Not his best game, but certainly not his worst. I'm really not seeing this "uninspired performance" or "sloppy game" looking at the box score, nor did anything really stick out while watching the game. Go Zips. Lets get a win or two in Hawaii.
  2. How on earth was that a foul on Patton....
  3. Poke is having himself another nice game.
  4. He has had a couple of nice passes as well.
  5. Its early, but it looks like the walk-ons may get some minutes in this one.
  6. It looks like Devanier Floyd recently received an offer from New Mexico and apparently has 6 other offers outside of Akron and NM??! I sure wish we had better coverage of our recruits. we
  7. Did I read that right that Kato attended 3 different high schools? Hopefully he only ends up being at 1 college.
  8. Swifty's hudl. http://www.hudl.com/profile/4174975/swift-lyle
  9. GA State and La-La are FBS.
  10. I'm glad we've been able to seemingly keep the class together so far, and even more encouraged that our best recruits look like they will be signing early, but things seem to be going slow outside of our class. Not hearing much about offers nor commitments.
  11. Is it 247 or the fact that our recruits don't have profiles on their site?
  12. Kent did get a commit yesterday or the day before, actually. I was shocked. It certainly looks like a dumpster fire, but I won't hate on them too bad. It seems like yesterday a mediocre alumnus D-2 coach was turning us down to stay in Detroit.
  13. Toledo setting a new standard: http://footballscoop.com/news/toledo-makes-jason-candle-staff-highest-paid-coaches-mac-history/
  14. No tangible difference between PSU and Wisconsin. We will see who is ranked higher at the end of the season. Bethune Cookman and UAPB both blow. Wash. Navy finished 6-6 in a G5 conference. Their best win was...SMU? Or maybe FAU I suppose looking back at it. Iowa St finished 7-5 in a better conference and had wins over Oklahoma and TCU.
  15. Fixed it for you.
  16. I think the person who would stop that from happening would be the coach at Duquesne, not anybody from Akron.
  17. I think I read today that this game has the largest spread in bowl history?!? Shock the world!
  18. Math is hard. But 61/125 is certainly not preferable.
  19. 52.4 BILLION. Holy smokes. Quite an interesting investment considering how ESPN has been hemorrhaging money.
  20. I've seen Balsy do it on bobcatattack O_O
  21. Creampuff candidates on last year's schedule: YSU - Finished near bottom of Horizon. Horizon ranked 29th out of 32 conferences last year, using RPI. American - Finished last place in Patriot League. Patriot League finished 27/32 last year. Radford - Finished middle of Big South. Big South finished 30/32 last year. GA Southern - Finished middle of Sun Belt. Sun Belt finished 25/32 last year. Mercer - Finished middle of Southern. Southern finished 19/32 last year. Adrian - Not D1. Enough said. Coppin St - Finished middle of MEAC. MEAC finished 31/32 last year. MD Eastern Shore - Finished middle of MEAC. MEAC finished 31/32 last year. Candidates for this year's schedule (usng last years results): Cleveland St. (though this is a game I have no issue being played no matter how good they are) - finished near bottom of Horizon, Horizon ranked 29/32. UT-Martin - Won OVC. OVC finished 20/32. UT-Chattanooga - Finished middle of Southern finished 19/32. IPFW - Finished middle of Summit, beat us in post season a few years ago. Summit ranked 17/32 Appy State - Finished bottom of Sun Belt. Sun Belt finished 25/32. MVSU - Finished middle of SWAC. SWAC finished 32/32. Concord - Not D1. Enough said. Bolded is who I would consider cream puffs for each year. The MAC finished 10th in RPI, FWIW. If you want to consider UT-C a creampuff, fine, but then you would have to do it for Mercer last year as well
  22. One of George's better articles, IMO. Maybe I expect too much, but this false statement stuck out to me. "This won’t be wide receiver Kevin Gladney’s first bowl trip. The Akron native, who also played at Firestone, began his college career at Nebraska, where he took part in two bowl games, before transferring to UA for his final year." This is Gladney's 3rd year in the program, 2nd year eligible.
  23. I'll add this: It may very well be a 1-3-1. It looks like one no matter what, but in high school we ran an inverted type of 2-3 that looked like a 1-3-1, so it is possible it is really a 2-3. I'll have to pay closer attention the next time I see it.
  24. Damn...I am jealous!
  25. Good insight. I love throwing the zone in for a little wrinkle. Also helps our players rest some.
