  1. Yeah I shouldn't write off any of them either. For whatever reason I wasn't too excited about Burkhart when we recruited him (even though I believe he is pretty dang fast), but him getting as much PT as he is a true freshman probably validates the argument that we should include him in this discussion. Interesting thoughts regarding Dixon, considering he is the only player mentioned that is currently on the team that I haven't seen get any PT.
  2. I'ts a good thing there is a freedom of choice. Plenty of cheap housing available directly off campus.
  3. Hopefully Williams, Stewart, McGriff, MTB, and potentially Hooks as well
  4. Good - that MTB isn't on that list. Means he's still planning on coming back next season. Questionable - no Demarcus Lloyd. I actually haven't noticed him much at all lately. Is he hurt? Quit the team? He is still on the roster.
  5. I'll admit I felt like turning around on my way to Akron last week when I heard on the radio that Kato would be the starter, because I thought we'd get blown out. Boy am I glad I went and was wrong! Regarding weather talk......I think the announced temp at the game was 28 degrees. Most of us grew up in Ohio so we should know how to dress. I wasn't too uncomfortable at all. I don't put much stock in just temperature as an excuse. Now if it were pouring down rain, or winds of 30 mph, or a blizzard/ice storm on top of that, then its understandable to not want to come. Just my opinion.
  6. Sort of along the same lines as my idea.....Lane Kiffin knows whats up!
  7. IIRC, the Rooney's were the only owners who voted against the Browns leaving. I hate the Steelers, but have to respect the family.
  8. We must have been. 2 Buffalo players are on that list and their game is going on right now. The list came out yesterday.
  9. ^^^ Just to be clear, that is his rating for week 11 (vs Miami). I would imagine he makes next week's team as well for his effort vs OU.
  10. Whether true or not, I would imagine those thoughts come from Illinois fans, where maybe that would get "exposed" when you are playing in a top 2 conference in the country, but we're talkin' about the MAC here! Will be interesting to see how Groce's replacement at IL does this season.
  11. There's an old adage..."if you have two QBs then you have no QBs." I mean I really do think we have 2 QBs, but play the QB the team will best respond to/gives you the best chance to win. Messing around with rotations and what not just takes away from the effectiveness the best one can provide.
  12. People still love their dollar beer and free stuff though as far as I know
  13. Boooo......... I guess if there is a silver lining its that we are the only nationally televised game. I wonder what they are showing on ESPN2? https://twitter.com/MACSports/status/931202216660275200
  14. Oh please, enough with the coded BS. "A move he never really wanted to make." If you know something different than what the general population knows (which if there is, I highly doubt it to be as big of an issue as some are making it out to be), then spill the beans. It isn't confidential information unless a NDA was signed by Keith for whatever reason...which I HIGHLY doubt.
  15. Oh..and how cOUld I forget abOUt typing like this.
  16. I think for both us and them, it has a lot to do with competitiveness. While we do have a lackluster history in D-1 football, we now look at Kent as what *should* be an automatic win on the schedule and they look at Miami the same I'd imagine. We've also had some pretty epic match ups on the hardwood, and we both seem to have more of an online presence than Kent and Miami...so that makes it easier to get into it more I think. I get more enjoyment out of beating Ohio as well, because I know a lot of OU fans and they're obnoxious. "OU OH YEAH" is god dang annoying. It's something a person with the IQ of potato would constantly scream.
  17. Do you go to the games?
  18. Do you go to the games?
  19. Apparently you didn't watch the NIU/WMU game last night, 2 programs that have had much more success in recent years than the Zips probably ever will.
  20. Should have been an offsides call. These announcers really struggled to grasp what the offense did on that play.
  21. Targeting rule explained: I haven't gotten to Davis' hit yet in the replay, but Camara's hit was indeed targeting. I would lean towards the call on Davis being correct as well. https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2017/9/2/16218244/targeting-rule-ncaa-rulebook-helmet-crown-head-to-head-defenseless
  22. I just skimmed back through and thought the same thing, interesting in the least. I also realized I forgot to do my game by game prediction -_-
  23. You guys are obviously getting this somewhere, but i have not seen anything. I checked the schedule for next Tuesday and the games we are competing with are BG/EMU and Miami/Ball St. I see no reason why we shouldn't get that ESPN2 slot (if there is one available).
  24. This game scares me. Our rival with a MAC-C bid, and even possibly a bowl bid on the line, as I'm not ready to say we are guaranteed for anything with the current numbers presented in the bowl watch thread. Numerous cases of let downs after big wins this season in College Football. OSU vs Iowa, Toledo vs Ohio, and heck maybe even Ohio vs us come to mind right away. Last night was the time to celebrate but now its time to concentrate on Kent. They would love nothing more than to potentially ruin our season and take the Wagon Wheel back. We better be ready to bring it. Get focused and kick ass! It's 12:40..........
  25. ^^Kato said that there are RPO's in the playbook that were called (at least last night). I don't recall any that I really noticed, but I do remember that the apparent absence of those last week was brought up as a complaint towards the OC.
