  1. Wasel in portal per 247. Bummer.
  2. My blind guess: Fulford to WVU.
  3. Seems like he'd be a really good get. Don't think he crossed paths with Joe Mo at Miss St, but definitely would have familiarity with Finley. Also, today is the last date of the current transfer portal window. I would be surprised if we didn't have more players enter..
  4. One guy get signed as an UDFA and one guy getting a tryout. When is the last time we had any player get a chance at the next level? Feels like it’s been way too long.
  5. Awesome. I recall Lingard talking pretty highly of his experience at Akron later last season. Testament that it’s better to transfer to a school like Akron to show your capabilities rather than rot away on the bench at P5.
  6. My takeaways (and I’ll add that in my opinion it’s hard to take much from this with so many players rotating in and out): -seems like starting OL was James, Lyons, Williams, Davis, and Blanchard. Did not notice Shor in, but may have missed it. Same with Seymore. - like others have said, Finley seems like he’ll be the starter. Didn’t see anything in terms of bad decisions, and seemed to throw a good, accurate ball. Doesn’t look like Bullock has improved a whole lot. - I see Simmons and Kellom getting bulk of the carries with Williams a more distant #3. -saw some young guys looking like they’re more ready to contribute this year. James as mentioned, also Catrell White and Jean Louis look like they can play. Laing-Taylor had a nice int as others have said and I thought he had a nice hit on Paul Davis as well. - players I noticed not dressed included Phaizon Wilson, Alex Adams, Jarvis Rush, Iesa Jarmon, Kabbash Richards looking forward to reading other takeaways.
  7. Looks like Bowen Hartman from OSU has committed to us. Didn’t play much, but shot 44% from 3 last season.
  8. Can't wait to the MAC Football Championship to be here as well once the Browns build a dome
  9. I'm sure just an oversight since we don't pay as close attention to walk ons as we do scholarship players..
  10. Sounds like the crap Arth did. Lame. Give the fans something to be excited about.
  11. Isn't that what Wilson is supposed to be? Over his last 2 seasons, has shot better from 3 than Gohlke.
  12. Agreed. We feel very thin/unproven at the 5 and to an extent the 4. We must be planning to play a lot of small ball. I guess the staff could have really high expectations for Brisco. He was pretty well recruited as well.
  13. A bit bummed to see Baker enter the portal. I thought he looked the part physically, on paper, and in the limited time he played in the Bahamas or wherever it was last year.
  14. I hope not. Killer guards are what wins games in the tourney, and while he hasn’t put it all together consistently, the potential has flashed and is there. LCJ didn’t really take off until his 4th year of college. Same for Castenada.
  15. Clock does not stop on first downs anymore for the most part if I recall correctly. Change went into effect last year. i think the changes last year to shorten the games went a little too far. Don’t have much opinion on a 2 minute warning itself, but do like that it should add 1-2 more plays a game to give us some back of the 6-10 plays they took away last year.
  16. Exciting. As @zippy5 said, who is out?
  17. Meh. Even with our “beefed up” OOC last season, it’s not like we beat teams we didn’t typically beat. SDSU’s, Northern Kentucky’s, and middling Sun Belt teams are the teams we should beat every season. Point being - tougher OOC didn’t seem to hurt recruiting at all even though we didn’t follow through.
  18. Thank god our heavy cuts are behind us.
  19. I attempted to predict my "way too early" top 2 at each position, but kept going back and forth so I gave up. Of the newcomers, I'm probably most excited for Okonkwo and Harris. Wilson fills a need in a 3 point shooter that we didn't have consistently last year, but Okonkwo had enough production at WVU to transfer up to UNC. Then he played against Bacot every single practice. Much like Enrique, his back up wasn't going to play much. Seems reasonable to expect a strong senior season out of him. Harris played A LOT this year for WVU, and basically all of his stats trended upwards from the prior season. He still seems to be on an upward trajectory and we could have a heck of a 2 years from him. I also think we're versatile. A number of guys who can play multiple positions. Curious who the one or two guys to step up will be (and any championship team needs that), but I think it'll happen, I'm drinking the kool aid!
  20. Just saw Josiah Harris to Akron!
  21. Good day to be a Zip! Getting a guy who transferred up from WVU to NORTH CAROLINA just last year feels like we’re stepping up a notch.
  22. Were you able to attend Captain?
  23. I only vaguely remember him as i’m more of a passive follower of hs bball, but I was reading his bio last night and saw he had the 2nd best season scoring wise as a freshman in school history. Behind one Lebron James.
  24. That is former SVSM guard Seth Wilson!
  25. It sucks, but good point. With today’s Wild West of college athletics, whose to say another school wouldn’t swoop in and “persuade” Finley to transfer if we released footage of him balling.
