It's worth noting that that report could be inaccurate. Their coaching search has been a mess. http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-basketball/news/duquesne-basketball-coaching-carousel-king-rice-dane-fife-monmouth-michigan-state-ncaa/cct156y5scx3151087916s8cp -

2017 player that is uncommitted this late? Seems odd. When does he have to sign by? Clear Josh Williams replacement offer.
-
what in the hell can Kentucky possibly spend 19 million on?
-
Avis Commack pick 6 vs TN? Quentin Hines long TD run vs TN? Justin March had the pick 6 vs UM, but he has been mentioned. Natson had the big play vs Wisconsin, but he's been mentioned. MTB had a big TD vs Pitt. Hundley had a hell of a game at Pitt.

Yes he was. Transferred to AZ then quit because Ianello killed his passion for the game, IIRC.

Dayton's arena is so horrible that the NCAA decides to play the 'first four' games there every season -
Tough, and nice idea. My 10 (in order): Jatavis Brown Jamal Marcus Jojo Natson Jerome Lane Dalton Williams Justin March Jarrod Pughsley Thomas Woodson DeAndre Scott Jawon Chisholm/Zach D’Orazio I know the list seems mostly filled with recent players, but that probably also make sense considering the program couldn't have been in worse shape when he got here. I have trouble separating Chis/D'Orazio. I think both deserved to be mentioned. Probably add Warren Ball to the list after this season (fingers crossed).

Link? Can't find anything about that.

I think its Pughsley.

He will be a new addition as well, correct?

Random thing I was thinking about while we are on the topic of coaching. Obviously this is just a hypothetical to stir up discussion. Anyone think its worth it to keep KD as long as we can no matter the circumstances just for the fact that there might be a 1 percent chance we land either of Lebron's sons? I have to imagine both will be big time recruits. Bron Jr. already has offers from Kentucky and Duke. The unique circumstances could give us a chance and would most likely mean season(s) we would cherish forever. -

No, but Dayton now is as Indiana is hiring Archie Miller. -

I agree. We do seem to be brushing it off because he has declined before and some recent developments make it seem as if not all is great in Zip basketball land. So I assume you think McFadden is essentially the coach in waiting? Don't know why we shouldn't explore all options though and "scrambling" seems like hyperbole as it isn't late in the game. -
I've finally had enough of this joke of reporting from the local newspaper and sent a lengthy email letting making my displeasure known to the managing editor, Darrin Werbeck, I'd encourage others to do the same if you truly want better. His email is dwerbeck@thebeaconjournal.com. Go out and enjoy he beautiful day first, though Additionally, I did some more thinking on what we can do. I've made a little mention of this before, but if the powers that be would be interested in getting a student to intern as Zipsnation's beat reporter (I feel like this could be done for free or very cheap pay wise), I would be happy to do whatever I can to help in just about every way. Also, I was thinking about how it was noted on here before that the new guys in charge at UA will happily give out press passes to blogging sites (Hustlebelt, and even Zipsnation for Dr.Z and Cap'n a few times I believe). I was wondering if there is any way to have this arranged so die-hards like Keener, Johnnzip, etc could obtain the credentials for whatever practice/event/etc they want to attend. They would obviously bring great insight back to the board.

EA on Lane. Reads more like yet another shot at the Browns to me though. Little substance. http://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/index.ssf/2017/03/jerome_lane_jr_hopes_his_nfl_f.html#incart_river_index

I don't mean to keep blowing this thread up, but this is too hilarious not to share. Obviously the person asking George the question is a year off, but George has no clue who Darryl Monroe is (click on the tweet to see the response).

Hopefully this doesn't affect the relationship with SVSM in a negative way.

I'll also add this for Lane. I have no clue how he will turn out at WR. I think most of us think he has pretty good potential. With that said I will bet on him having a decent length of a career if he buys into being a special teamer/reserve WR at worst. We saw his potential on defense. Should have an automatic leg up on a lot of other reserve WR journeymen there. He could be a stud on the ST unit.

JN...undecided. Incredible player and athlete but his size will probably be too much to overcome. If I had to pick I would say yes.SP....no. Underwhelmed his whole career to me, although he was apparently playing injured this season. I'll throw in DeAndre Scott as a guy I think could be picked late/UDFA. He seemed incredibly sound his whole career. I don't know anything about his athleticism though so maybe that could be a knock from teams. Not sold as much on Hope and/or Jones, but we've had equal or lesser guys get shots (Bryce Cheek with the Chiefs). So my picks for guys who get a shot..Marcus, Lane, Scott, and maybe Natson. Not knowing #'s makes it difficult. John Ross broke the record with his 40 and is now guaranteed to go in the first round. Dri Archer got himself clear up to the 3rd round because of his 40 and then his career flamed out a few years in. If I had to guess Jojo lit it up.
-
I have to say, being a Browns fan I do a ton of reading up on the draft and I think Marcus is going to be a steal for whoever drafts/signs him. 3rd round talent IMO but an injury riddled senior season is preventing him from getting any buzz at all.
-
So GT actually provided some insight (spelling errors and all), even though he couldn't be bothered to tweet it. Looks like 20 teams were represented, including Browns WR coach Al Saunders. http://www.ohio.com/sports/zips/university-of-akron-football-browns-check-in-on-ua-receiver-jerome-lane-at-pro-day-1.755969

I don't think it means much as they each bring a different skill set, both of which are valuable to the team. Josh is a 2. Ivey is a tweener 2/3. I think KD starting both Tino and Noah has more of an impact, that is if he cared all that much about starting. The 6th man is essentially a starter.

Akron (along with every other school) will receive a one time distribution from the NCAA based on the number of athletic scholarships awarded. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/2017/03/24/ncaa-200-million-payout-bonus/99582450/ Our number is $743,645. https://www.gannett-cdn.com/usatoday/editorial/sports/2017-ncaa-special-distribution-by-school.pdf
