  1. These teams to me, seem about as evenly matched as you can be in the MAC. I'll predict Buffalo as a 2-3 point favorite. Big bowl implications on the line for both teams, as the winner most likely guarantees themselves a bid, while the loser will worry about having to become eligible/getting selected. Biggest and most meaningful game for the program in quite some time. I hope Hundley will be good to go. We really need him.
  2. Some thoughts after having some time to relax: Offense - I think they played pretty great. Maybe the best all year. I'm not too worried about Woodson's INTs as there's a little grey area as whose faults it was and they weren't horrible decisions/inaccurate throws. Conor ran tough as always. I hope Conor I liked the play calling with a few designed runs for Woodson. I do think the coaching staff played "not to lose" starting about mid-way through the 3rd which hurt us, but when it came down to it at the end, the offense came through with a nice drive to seal the game. Seemed the OL did a better job than they have in a while too. Defense- Stepped up big when we needed them to. Created turnovers. Front 7 was awesome as usual. I think the secondary could have played better. I dont know what Cheek was doing on that long TD pass and we got lucky with a couple of drops by them. Something else I've noticed..it seems like the stupid penalties (especially the personal fouls) are starting to disappear. Its about time. Special teams- Beyond horrible. We gave up big returns, blocked punts, missed FGs/XPs, kicks offs out of bounds, bad punts, and failed fakes. I will say though, as zipsoutsider pointed out, its good to get that fake out of the way so we know never to run it again. Its good that we had all of these mishaps against a team we were still able to beat in spite of it. I expect special teams to be a heavy focus in practice this week, as it could very well cost us against Buffalo. I'm happy Stein was able to hit the long FG to seal it. Hopefully it will give him some confidence. I hope Paul gets it turned around. He has been somewhat disappointing this season compared to the rest of his career. Very inconsistent. Its good we are beating the teams we are supposed to beat consistently. As ZTZ pointed out, we are still in that win close/lose close stage of the rebuild. It isn't pretty, but a win is a win.
  3. Agreed. Navy may very well be the best G5 team in the country. The triple option isn't easy for anyone to defend (although it really should be). I'd be more comfortable with a middling P5 team than Navy.
  4. Never pretty, but I'll take it!. I'll write my thoughts later.
  5. LOL at that fake. well I guess it wasnt really a fake, but still LOL
  6. what in the holy hell.......you cannot make this stuff up...
  7. Stein came through for once. Whew!
  8. Lets run backwards when we are on the fringe of FG range. Smart stuff!
  9. Two blocked punts.
  10. Doesnt mean he shouldnt be on the field when he is far superior then any alternative.
  11. Coaching has cost us this lead more than anything. The coaches have been playing not to lose since about midway through the 3rd. Also, these announcers are idiots, because they think Lane stopped running his route doesn't mean its true.
  12. wow.
  13. I feel like in beating a dead horse because I say it nearly every week, but I won't miss Dylan Evans. He has a lot of tackles, but only because the ball is always going to his guy because he's always beat. He never makes plays.
  14. Two blocked punts today. Can I give a worse grade than an F- ? Buffalo is watching this licking their chops right now.
  15. Cody Grice flattened his guy on that 4th down. Really blew things up.
  16. Jatavis is insane!
  17. Agreed. At RB or WR.
  18. Lol, thats a fair point.
  19. I believe one was botched on the CMU XP. I think there was another one as well, but can't recall.
  20. RIght. Run a fake in a game that we are easily in control of? Let alone its 4th and 1 and we could just overpower Miami with Grice or whoever really. Instead we put it in the hands of dumb and dumber (Stein and our holder who can't get the hold half the time).Ugh. F- for special teams.
  21. speechless with that play call.
  22. Death, taxes, DeAndre Scott interceptions..
  23. very, very bad play on the ball by Cheek.
  24. Hitman!!!! Great pressure by the D.
  25. Yeah still and F on special teams even though it was called back. Great effort there, Stein.
