  1. Well about one of six things that need to happen for Toledo happened last night.
  2. WMU is out. Toledo wins, they win the west. Toledo loses, NIU wins the west.
  3. Horrible loss. Same ol' Zips.
  4. I wouldn't be so quick to write of CMU. They are missing the best player in the MAC.
  5. Toledo comes in at #24 and the second highest rated G5 team. They need to be more concerned with what happens in the AAC than the MAC. The MAC might not mean much. Houston knocking off Navy would make things really interesting. Would a team with a bad loss at home, but a win over #15 Navy jump Toledo? Probably best for Temple not to win the AAC as they are ranked #25 unless they lose this week.
  6. Redshirts are allowed to practice with the team.
  7. I would not mind a nice December vacation in the Bahamas!
  8. Brett McMurphy ‏@McMurphyESPN 2h2 hours ago Middle Tennessee will play in Bahamas Bowl sources told @ESPN. Middle Tennessee will play a team from MAC, still TBA, on Dec. 24 83 retweets 40 likes
  9. Maybe my memory was wrong, but I was pretty sure the bolded was Hundley and Woody. As for Leipold, when I was reading up for the Buffalo game I remember reading that he thought he was actually a year ahead of schedule. Whether that's true or not..I don't know.
  10. I never voted for whatever reason, but I'm pretty pleased. It looks like this is Bowden's best class since he has been here based on how they are contributing as freshman. I think it was last year that only one or two players weren't red shirted. Thats a little bit different this year....I don't know why, but I thought Boxen was a R-Freshman... I hope I'm wrong, but I've got a feeling we may not see him again. Just a gut feeling. His 1st two years were a disappointment considering his hype, the broken-wrist and being out for the season thing seems weird to me. It happened pretty early in training camp if I'm not mistaken and Hakeen Lawrence took his number..just seems weird, but pure speculation on my part.
  11. I like you're thinking Keener.
  12. I've had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with Mr. Dickerson for a few days. Considering his position, he's a very down to earth, approachable, and genuinely nice guy. He is actually from Strongsville I believe, and has brought in some hometown guys with him at Under Armour. He also maintains a good relationship with the University, specifically the CBA. It's a shame nothing ever got worked out because as of about two weeks ago, Brad announced he is actually leaving Under Armour. http://www.baltimoresun.com/business/under-armour-blog/bal-armoury-under-armour-doles-out-duties-of-departing-coo-dickerson-to-top-executives-20151110-story.html
  13. The way the rankings look right now, it seems that the AAC champ is bound to get that bid no matter what happens, really. Hopefully the new playoff rankings tomorrow show something different, because we should absolutely hope for Toledo to be the highest ranked G5 team. I'm just spit balling here, but it seems like the MAC falls behind about everyone else in football budgets save for maybe the Sunbelt. We need all we can to attract better talent and retain coaches; and I'm not speaking for just Akron, I'm speaking for the whole conference. Based on the current AP poll (the CFP poll will probably be slightly different), the only way Toledo gets in besides obviously winning out would be for Temple to lose to CT and then beat the winner of Navy/Houston in their championship game. Somewhat of a long shot but certainly plausible. Houston being ranked so highly after losing to 5-5 CT is sort of a joke.
  14. I don't see being allowed to pick your bowl happening, but to entertain your question I think its a mixture of two.. I'm going 1a) - your opponent. You want to give yourself the best chance to win as possible at this point in the program's history. 1b) the location. Playing the game in FL against a team we have a similar shot in beating instead of playing in Boise would be more valuable to the program for recruiting purposes since that is an area we target/have players from.
  15. I wouldn't mind Boise at all, although it'd probably come at the cost of playing them on their home field. They are having a down year by their standards. There are certainly other mid majors I'd prefer to avoid over them.
  16. Antino got body checked, and is probably hurt. I cannot believe that wasn't called a foul.
  17. We are killing ourselves by tipping the ball out on rebounds instead of just grabbing the damn thing.
  18. Zipgrad, buddy, I've missed your analysis of the Buffalo game this week!
  19. Good effort in the 1st half; might have blew our wad tough. Live by the three... Regardless of the outcome, this team seems to be more talented than any other I've seen under KD.
  20. I don't recall the name or much about him in general, but I believe its been noted on here that we have an OL transfer from Kentucky that is a Youngstown native that is sitting out this year.
  21. agreed,
  22. We actually attempted to convert 3rd and longs. We aggressively ended the 1st half with a score(which played a big part in the game), where in the past, we would have just mailed it in.
  23. Great pics. Glad to see these guys enjoying themselves; they deserve it.
  24. I did a recount and I agree. Must have had one too many beers last night! Updated my list above.
