  2. more info http://www.uakron.edu/im/news/ua-launches-two-career-focused-programs-with-a-military-flavor
  3. Does being on TV help you win more or are you on TV because you are a winner?
  4. FYI I did some looking around on the internet and couldnt find anything about Harney playing on the Knicks summer league team.
  5. Thanks for sharing. I always thought Nick had all of the physical tools. I'll be following.
  6. I saw a few familiar faces in that video. I thought our players weren't playing in any summer leagues
  7. I suppose time will tell. Hope it works out for him as I hope any MAC player has success at the next level, but I don't see it.
  8. Agreed. Never looked like an NBA talent to myself, either. Multiple players in the MAC were better than him the past few seasons. This is a long-shot project pick at best, which makes you wonder why a pick would even need to be used on him. But, alas, it is the 76ers, where nothing they have done in recent years has made sense. Good luck to him.
  9. Big enough news that Yahoo felt compelled to write about it. (and ESPN) http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/13152276/los-angeles-lakers-gm-mitch-kupchak-addresses-larry-nance-jr-tweet-2012-kobe-bryant?ex_cid=espnTW
  10. Someone has some damage control to take care of already http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/new-laker-larry-nance-jr--deletes-tweet-that-called-kobe-bryant--rapist-054648201.html?soc_src=mediacontentstory&soc_trk=tw
  11. Well its a good thing we have Adidas, then! Not to change the subject, but for the record, I actually do like our alt uni's, helmets, etc. However, it's still Adidas. I've pointed out before that the CFO of Under Armour is an Akron alumni who still maintains an active relationship with the University. There are some other higher ups at UA as well who are from Northeast Ohio. Its a shame we don't take advantage.
  12. Zips lose out on 3-star WR recruit to Toledo. http://www.hustlebelt.com/2015/6/23/8833411/2016-toledo-football-recruiting-wr-calvin-jackson-commits-to-rockets
  13. I think you need to quit stereotyping. Most of us root for the name on the front, not the name on the back. I have not seen any fans criticize him and if there have been, they are in the large minority. Stop letting the media get to you. Your friend is a bitter old man and I pity him. How in the hell are you a Cavs fan and not watch or root for them to win the finals? Almost feel like you're trolling.
  14. Would've swore there were players participating in summer leagues last year. My memory isnt the greatest, though.
  15. I don't even think we run a pro-style "right now" or last year. Not to mention we have sparingly used TE's. I think what Keener getting at is his comment doesnt make sense.
  16. Its obvious you didn't watch much Cavs this season Buck. With no Love or Kyrie, the ONLY other person besides Lebron capable of creating their own shot is JR, and he was largely a choke during the series. The back up "PG" struggles with dribbling the ball, let alone starting an offense, therefore it was necessary to be as ball dominant as Lebron was. At some point losing 2 all stars is going to catch up to you. The fact that it didnt until game 6 of the NBA finals is simply astonishing. The Warriors were a team of destiny this season. They had the luxury of playing an injured Mike Conley, avoiding a defensive stud in Patrick Beverly, and avoiding Kyrie Irving all while avoiding injuries completely themselves. Cavs will be back in full force next season with some continuity with the Big 3 and some new pieces that will be able to contribute. Looking forward to it!
  17. This is a reach if I've ever seen one.
  18. Social activities #6 in this survey. http://www.usnews.com/education/blogs/college-rankings-blog/2013/01/31/freshmen-students-say-rankings-arent-key-factor-in-college-choice
  19. The college experience is certainly a factor, not THE factor, in choosing where to attend and there is nothing wrong with that.
  20. Hopefully more of the people who were searching for Bowden and less of the people who were "searching" for Embick.
  21. I take it you have never been to a rifle or tennis event.
  22. I don't even think Delly is a good back up. His ball handling skills are sub-par and he has no ability to create anything on offense. However he does have a niche that is appreciated and will keep him in the league. He's naturally a 3rd guard off the bench IMO.
  23. The Cavs bench played 68 minutes compared to Golden State's 50. The whole fatigue talk is overplayed and isn't the reason they are/will probably lose the series. They say Lebron is "drained" but the dude still put up 40/14/11 and has put up god-like numbers all series. You hinted on the reason, they don't know how to play the pick and roll. Especially Green/Curry, but the p&r is a killer and has been all series and playoffs, really. I put more blame on Thompson or Blatt than Delly. Teams know he can't guard PGs so they run the switch over, and over. I think this is where K Love is missed. He's actually a lot better defender than people give him credit for and certainly more agile than TT.
  24. What were Syracuses's expectations and what were Akron's expectations that season? Syracuse had a bowl season and Akron ended up going 1-11 with a loss to Gardner freaking Webb. I know relatively speaking, we have high expectations this season as does Pitt. Pitt should come in 1-0. I expect a min of 20k. If we do well against OU (say close loss), I think I'll call a sellout.
  25. Some bad news for Mr. Boyd = some potentially good news for the Zips. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/06/13/potential-2016-first-round-pick-tyler-boyd-faces-dui-charge/
