  1. Well that settles it then. Thanks for pointing it out. Its worth noting that Bickley is NOT on the roster. http://gozips.com/sports/fball/2015-16/roster
  2. I have to say there is some serious irony in the state having issues with spending when it is essentially "signed off" by people they have appointed.
  3. From what I've read (there could be more to it, but I haven't seen it), it seems he is a suspect because they got into a fight two years prior to the apparent accident. I guess we are all lucky that nobody we got into a fight with in HS ended up dead in a separate incident. I agree with the second part, that a thorough investigation is abosolutely necessary. However, the death occurred two and a half years ago. I don't know what wouldn't be found now that hasn't been found already. The independent coroner said that all signs point to an accidental death. The Johnsons' hired coroner found something different. Go figure right? But he did say this, whatever it's supposed to mean: There is nothing that points to Johnson being forced down a standing wrestling mat head first. The wrongful death suit includes not only Brian, not only him, his brother and dad, but 36 other defendants including the family. I stand by my first statement. This wreaks of conspiracy theory. From the USA today article:
  4. Although Mike Miller gave him a good run for his money with the Cavs last season, I fixed it for you. Im not much of a baseball fan, but do follow/root for the Indians because they are a Cleveland team. This signing couldn't have been more of a dud. I read where Bourn (overall he underperformed, but had a good first year and showed improvement before he got trade) and Swisher (aside from sucking in general, the guy spent more time on DL/AA than with the Indians AND was the highest paid athlete in Cleveland before Haden/Kyrie extensions) accounted for 1/3 of the Indians payroll. I think the organization is pretty close, hopefully they can bring in some quality guys that you can count on in next season to take that next step.
  5. Did some reading on this Bell thing thanks to wadzip's post. This thing wreaks of conspiracy theory. The dad hired/instructed the son's to murder Johnson? There is surveillance footage of Johnson entering the room where the wrestling mats are but not Bell? If Bell is indeed innocent, it's a shame he and his family had to go through these false accusations. Talk about life altering.
  6. Who else do you guys think appears on this list for the Zips? I'm throwing in Jatavis and Marcus for sure. Kind of on the fence about whether Grice or Pittman will make it. This high would be a little surprising to me, but I think they both are top 70 for sure. Nobody on offense come to mind (ugh).
  7. I think its a good sign that we are drawing candidates that if they got the job, it would be perceived as them making a lateral move. (I get the budget is attractive, but I'm sure most not looking at it closely don't). Still, I know I'd be pretty bummed if we were losing coaches/directors to another mid-major regardless of almost any circumstances.
  8. I concur. I think Zeke might qualify as a pretty darn athletic 7footer. Both of these guys are in a different atmosphere than the Brett McKnight, Pat Forsythe, Serb's of the Zips' present and past.
  9. I feel bad for them, but lets be real, there is never a right time. If you're on schedule to graduate in the spring, stay and graduate (that is if you value school more than a sport). It seems all that have wanted to transfer and continue to play baseball have found a new home.
  10. If Zips football gets canned (I highly doubt it will happen, but still), I will end any and all association I have with the University.
  11. Agreed boring and could have punched a lot harder, but I also thought he explained the thought process well. Would have been nice if he said there is no way they are leaving the MAC (i.e. dropping football). He left the option open. Jesus H Scarby.
  12. Well that escalated quickly.
  13. By offer sheet alone, certainly seems like a player we are capable of grabbing,
  14. Great news. Looking good for me to be able to make the Nova game.
  15. I think you actually helped the graduation rate, Spin. From what I recall, it is/was based off of 6 years (unless there is a recent article talking about a 4yr graduation rate that I missed).
  16. Not saying it won't or even shouldn't happen, but I don't know of any incentive the NCAA has to try to make their game as similar as possible to the pro game, unless there is a trend where top prospects start to go overseas rather than to school, which is a risky move by them. Many prospects bust, some in college and even more once they get drafted. A free education is a good safety net. From my experience (obviously a small sample), it seems like the diehards I know prefer college over the NBA. As popular as the NBA is and as a diehard Cavs fan myself, I even think there are a lot of problems with it.
  17. The University is independently audited annually by Plante Moran.
  18. I didn't get that at all. Can you quote some?
  19. honestly..who?
  20. I pray we have no suspensions/off court drama for the first time in umpteen years.
  21. I caught that too. Everybody has to put in their two cents, but nobody has answers.
  22. The 400k out of the general fund is pretty f'ed up considering all the cuts right now.
  23. From the original plan, 10mil was expected to come from an increase in fees, and 10mil was expected to come from an increase in enrollment. The university cut back on the fees because they received additional funding from the state that they weren't expecting. I don't think they were "forced" to, but it was damage control nonetheless.
  24. Don't have a link (I was reading one of those old school paper copies), but there was a sizable article this morning in USA today hyping up Frohnapfel.
  25. already been stated that that won't be happening.
