  1. I wonder if some of you who post on this board are even fans of Zips ATHLETICS.
  2. IF there were still anyone holding out hope that Harney was on the Knicks summer league roster: https://twitter.com/NY_KnicksPR/status/618471669250850816/photo/1
  3. Not a good look Mr. Scarborough/Mortimer. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2015/07/university_of_akrons_juniors_a.html
  4. The real issue here that I can't believe nobody is addressing is that Hilltopper let his kid go to TOLEDO?!? I guess it could be worse and be Can't. Hope all of you enjoyed your weekend. Go Zips!
  5. You're probably right that they don't exist. As I said above however, that 2k annual scholarship will make (i think) a lot of them exist that otherwise wouldn't. The U needs to make sure this is properly marketed so every student knows about it. Something like this can be a win all around. More university pride/differentiator among other universities/good for student resume/lower college cost.
  6. You think we would draw under 17k even with a win over Oklahoma? Sheesh. Tough crowd.
  7. Deal sir. Meeting some members of Zn.O is long over due.
  8. What is the NEO community's perception of UA? (probably nothing we should worry about maintaining). PS- I think part of what entails the "leadership" part should be mandatory attendance to major home sporting events. I like the idea. I think it will work if given a chance. However, my bigger concern is student interest. Something tells me that 2k annual scholarship will help with that! If this were implemented a few years ago, I know I would be in.
  9. I haven't thought of that until now. By not addressing it this year, I take it the staff sees Big Dog able to hold down the starting spot for a season. I hope they're right. Regardless, its an absolute need in the next recruiting class.
  10. I'll meet you more than half way at 19k with no stipulations (i.e. Pitt coming in undefeated, how Akron does vs OU).
  11. I kind of like this idea. You're right, Dave. Scarborough is showing he isn't afraid to make drastic changes, and while I still take issue with a lot of what he says, I can respect him for doing something. When I watch TAMU football games, one of the first things I notice is the cadets.I think its a good idea to begin establishing a differentiating identity that people can actually see.
  12. I don't know what handicapping is as it would relate to betting on sports, so I guess no. Throw out your number that you'd take the under on.
  13. 17k announced attendance. Im taking the over.
  14. more info http://www.uakron.edu/im/news/ua-launches-two-career-focused-programs-with-a-military-flavor
  15. Does being on TV help you win more or are you on TV because you are a winner?
  16. FYI I did some looking around on the internet and couldnt find anything about Harney playing on the Knicks summer league team.
  17. Thanks for sharing. I always thought Nick had all of the physical tools. I'll be following.
  18. I saw a few familiar faces in that video. I thought our players weren't playing in any summer leagues
  19. I suppose time will tell. Hope it works out for him as I hope any MAC player has success at the next level, but I don't see it.
  20. Agreed. Never looked like an NBA talent to myself, either. Multiple players in the MAC were better than him the past few seasons. This is a long-shot project pick at best, which makes you wonder why a pick would even need to be used on him. But, alas, it is the 76ers, where nothing they have done in recent years has made sense. Good luck to him.
  21. Big enough news that Yahoo felt compelled to write about it. (and ESPN) http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/13152276/los-angeles-lakers-gm-mitch-kupchak-addresses-larry-nance-jr-tweet-2012-kobe-bryant?ex_cid=espnTW
  22. Someone has some damage control to take care of already http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/new-laker-larry-nance-jr--deletes-tweet-that-called-kobe-bryant--rapist-054648201.html?soc_src=mediacontentstory&soc_trk=tw
  23. Well its a good thing we have Adidas, then! Not to change the subject, but for the record, I actually do like our alt uni's, helmets, etc. However, it's still Adidas. I've pointed out before that the CFO of Under Armour is an Akron alumni who still maintains an active relationship with the University. There are some other higher ups at UA as well who are from Northeast Ohio. Its a shame we don't take advantage.
  24. Zips lose out on 3-star WR recruit to Toledo. http://www.hustlebelt.com/2015/6/23/8833411/2016-toledo-football-recruiting-wr-calvin-jackson-commits-to-rockets
  25. I think you need to quit stereotyping. Most of us root for the name on the front, not the name on the back. I have not seen any fans criticize him and if there have been, they are in the large minority. Stop letting the media get to you. Your friend is a bitter old man and I pity him. How in the hell are you a Cavs fan and not watch or root for them to win the finals? Almost feel like you're trolling.
