Keep in mind that Woodson is only a redshirt freshman. He is learning as well.The fact that he is what he is and is competing with Hirschman for a back up QB role tells me all I need to know about Hirschman.

Appreciate the info guys. D sounds exciting (as expected out of that deep LB and studs on the D-line). Is Boyett a transfer? Name doesn't ring a bell. The news on WRs seems pretty disheartening. Hopefully they look better with Pohl out there. Hopefully him and Chisholm aren't injured, because I don't understand why they would be sitting out this close to the season.

It seems Tommy Woodson is looking solid in a back up QB role from the updates I see from @ZipsFB on twitter. Him and Hirschman appear to be in a battle for the back up QB. But I'd really like some updates on how the starters are looking and players like MTB.

The whole article with the exception of the opening sentence makes it seem like there is a problem there, not a strength.

I might suggest that you do a little more research on when scheduling is done and look at past schedules before you make another statement like that.

If only we had a beat reporter. You'd figure the program would be getting more coverage than the past 5 years considering how last season ended and with the expectations coming into this season. Yet, it seems like less coverage than all of those 1-11 seasons. Zips FB twitter did seem to have some decent updates during the scrimmage, though.

Im not sure how relevant that point even is, Spin. Does Akron have a large enough supportive alumni base to even make a serious dent in soliciting donations for the arena? If we have a few large donors who want to donate towards a new arena, what is stopping them from donating a large sum and specifying the use for it? I don't remember the exact details, but I believe there was a similar situation not too long ago with a donor for the business school. He set aside a large donation in order for the business school to be named after him. The U wouldn't meet the specifications for whatever reason, and the donor withdrew the donation.

I went to the scrimmage today, and the atmosphere was everything I hope Akron football can be one day. Vine St packed with pre-game activities, the band marching through the crowd, people waiting in line an hour before start. All standing room packed. Top section of the bleachers were only half way full, probably because of so many people standing. But I might cry if an Akron game is ever like that.
