  1. Wouldnt do him much good when Lebron will only be there for his rookie season.
  2. Hmm. Looks I may be mistaken. He still brings in exceptional talent, though. I would expect him to have won the East more than once in his 8 years at coach. Zero conference championships (including an absolute blowout loss) and one division championship.
  3. looks to be about ~18% drop off if my math is correct. But the numbers are still good overall, and you are getting much more exposure than you would on the weekend. Then the question would be does the ESPN deal plus the amount of national exposure you are getting make up the 18% difference you are missing out on attendance, which is most certainly does. Its not ideal for the fan of the school, but from a business standpoint, it makes sense.
  4. The MAC has actually had 2 good seasons in a row.
  5. South Carolina doesnt win SEC championships because Spurrier is a career underachiever. No reason for him not to be at the top with the talent he brings in. His teams underachieve every year.
  6. Not to change the subject, but Ibaka has played like straight crap this series.
  7. Because the NFL is a business model that is set up on equality. The NCAA is not.
  8. Williams appears to have already beat out former big time HS recruit and USC quarterback (ended his career at Richmond), Aaron Corp. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/...ends-in-dallas/ Some research on Nick Stephens... He was a 4 star recruit in HS and a former starter at Tennessee, who ended his career at Tarleton. Appears to have a little bit of history with Dallas as well, being that he tried out for them last year.
  9. I think I'd equate it as having about the same talent as the Puerto Rico tip-off.
  10. I like what UPA stands for, but the article makes them look very inept. Have no problem with Knight withholding the donation until UPA shows they have their shi* together.
  11. Who is bashing Lebron; and I only see one person complaining about St.V
  12. This is off topic, but it isnt worth making a new thread for. Just saw the OU softball play on sports center, and that the MAC tournament was in Akron. Its too bad the tournament wasnt on campus as well as the track tourney.
  13. And what is so good about Colorado? You do realize Colorado is one of the worst programs along with Akron, but at least Akron has some upside. Obviously he is going to try to be the starter, but there are many reasons besides the football team he could be coming here. It was mentioned he was looking at Ivy league schools, and had offers to Ivy League schools coming out of high school, so he is very smart. I'd assume UA has a good reputation in whatever graduate degree he is planning to pursue.
  14. really? Its always seemed dead and boring. Definitely doesnt have a dorm feel. I would say the only one that rivals it would be Honor's.
  15. I mean there is a possibility he could be a starter. I'll go as far as to say he is a true D1 player (which is better than any other back up we have). He was named "co-starter" of a 1-11 team that lost its real starter in the Spring with a torn ACL. It's a good thing, but I wouldnt call him a "big time coup", although it does fill a big void.
  16. So...we have that transfer QB http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/...loes?src=mobile
  17. With all of the new housing UA is adding (all of Quaker, South Hall, the new dorm/apartment on exchange) and the new private complexes targeting young adults (Mayflower, 401 Lofts, Depot), I dont see where the demand for occupancy will be/is coming from.
  18. Anyone for some remedial math? "A combination of high schools GPA and ACT scores would be used to place students into three categories: preparatory, emergent and college-ready. Emergent students are slightly less prepared than college-ready students, who are fully prepared for the rigor of post-secondary classes. Currently 19 percent of students are considered preparatory, 21 percent emergent, and 50 percent college-ready."
  19. Eh, you never know. He was behind a pretty good running back here. He made some nice plays when he did play. The Patriots drafted an OSU player last year who was a walk-on and strictly a special teams player in college. He ended up making the team, was second on the team in special teams tackles, and even picked off a pass against Phili. The Pats scouting department is the best in the league, imo. Quentin certainly has the physical tools. Im not sure how it could be a blessing in disguise that his dream may have just ended (not that im implying you meant any ill feelings, just dont see your point).
  20. Are the track MAC championships at UA?
  21. I liked that they had it in the football stadium. I was disappointed that the whole setup was around the football field, instead of on it. But then I thought, well maybe they dont want anybody besides the stage on the football field because they are shooting off the fireworks there later. However, they ended up shooting the fireworks off from the rec parking lot. I thought the setup should have been on the football field to make for a better flow during the event. Kind of like it is when it is at Coleman Commons, where you can wonder anywhere. For example, you could walk clear down to gate 1, but if you wanted to go to the gate 4 side, you couldnt cut across the South endzone side. You had to walk clear back around the stadium. People will say I am probably crying or whatever, but its JMO, and the opinion of people I talked to. Just throwing out what I think would make it better. As for Owl City, I did not watch, but heard it was actually decent.
  22. Saw that Quentin tore his labrum at the Patriots minicamp and is being placed on IR.
  23. Zach has reliable sources from my observations. Sorry to hear. Did Cunningham play? Name doesnt sound familiar. Will it open up a scholarship?
