  1. Im glad we get to find out about our OOC opponents through other schools releasing theirs /sarcasm
  2. Is Jerrod going by "J.D." now? Also, I took that as GT using other people's predictions and just giving a little writeup on each team.
  3. couldnt agree more.
  4. Late season preview
  5. Agree with everybody. Terrible deal that the MAC took. Should have worked something out with FSO.
  6. AdBlock is your friend.
  7. I'd reckon Kyle Pohl is the starter and Nick Hirschman is the back up.
  8. I'm sure somebody will correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the 'official' watch spot for Zips athletics last year was Johnny J's in the Valley (weathervane lane). Never been to it to watch the Zips and have no desire to, as its about a 15 minute drive from campus. It would really be nice if a bar along exchange or even downtown was the location. Personally, I would recommend Pint's on Exchange St. The owner, Dom, is a really cool dude and a huge Zips supporter. Seeing that its on ESPN3 (no clue if its supposed to be shown on STO or Fox sports whatever the hell its called now), I think it would be wise to ask him about it a few days before so that if he wasnt planning on showing it, he can get the set up. Its a safe assumption that he would be willing to show the game.
  9. Is getting a degree in education not easy everywhere?
  10. Feel great about our offense. Only concern is the defense, being that UCF ran all over us last year. We've improved a ton there. I'll say we lose by 7.
  11. Someone please post what they thought of the scrimmage tonight if they were there.
  12. Im not taking Can't lightly, at least not as lightly as JMU, UMass, and Miami. They have ??s at QB, but return the most productive backfield in the nation, one of which is a Heisman candidate. I like our chances better without Hazell, but still not counting is at one of our easier chances at a W. Also, Kyle Pohl will own just about every statistical QB record by the time he is done here.
  13. I agree with many of the above posts. I would be satisfied with 4 wins, but would really like to knock off a few teams that are considered pretty good (UCF, ULL, OU, Toledo, NIU, UM) to really make it interesting.
  14. http://btn.com/2013/05/09/big-ten-teams-st...ball-schedules/ http://btn.com/2013/01/09/dienhart-lets-dr...ball-schedules/
  15. Dont see them having much interest. Major schools are looking to cut down on the cupcake scheduling due to the new BCS format.
  16. in Zippyfan's defense, MTB did not have a good practice that day. He said it himself.
  17. asked the @zipsfb twitter account if practice was open to the public today, and if so, what time. The account has been in use since then, but no response. Was hoping to check the team out today
  18. We are debating McCrea's skill level, not his character.
  19. With Harney's size, athleticism, and skill-set, I think he has the potential to be a really special player. We've seen flashes of it; hopefully he can have some more consistency this season.
  20. Heard Bickley took a return back to the house the other day!
  21. This. Now I might see a little bit of what jupiterroo was getting at.
  22. Like I said, a respectable loss is better than a 40pt throbbing of Coppin St. How many top 25 teams have we played in the past 5-6 years anyways?
  23. JMO, if Akron wants to take that true next step, we need to adopt the Boise St mentality. Play anyone, anywhere. I'm obviously talking hypothetical, but this could apply to numerous situations..Who cares IF we could be Louisville to play a game at the Q and they would only do it for two return home games? All I see is two chances to go on the road and pull off a huge upset! We as a program are not equal to them, and shouldn't act like it. We need to take what we can get and make the most out of it. A close loss to Louisville looks better on the resume than a 40pt thrashing of Coppin St. We might save a little money, too.
  24. Are the numbers embarassing? Yes. But how about we put some of the blame on the students, where it really belongs. Sure, maybe UA has implemented some dirty, unethical, or whatever you want to call it tactics, in admitting students who aren't qualified, have no real shot at graduating college, etc....but can you blame a business for trying to obtain the most revenue possible? How about the failing students and their family face reality and realize that college isnt for them? The world needs ditch diggers, too. All I can do is praise UA for the opportunities they have given me. I came here as a transfer student from a community college. Had my bumps, but got my crap together and now have a job waiting on my at one of the top companies in my field when I graduate in December. Employers heavily recruit UA for my major, and other majors as well. I'm getting as good of a starting salary as you can get anywhere, even with a Master's, and I'll only have a Bachelor's. I can do nothing but thank UA for the opportunities they have provided me with. However, I wouldnt have gotten those opportunities without a little bit of self-accountability and motivation. Other students should take note.
  25. unfortunately, when I try to click on jupiterroo's link it says the link is out of date or broken. But from what you said, so much for Proenza's '2020 vision'. heh.
