  1. Well technically the player can’t owe the school anything as school’s aren’t the ones paying the NIL deals.
  2. But you have the leak? Are MAC employees who may have the privilege to attend the discussion not bound by this? And to be honest, I don’t see a real benefit for Akron to stay in the MAC if they aren’t there for football.
  3. Were you able to attend the scrimmage yesterday Captain? Happy Easter Zipsnation!
  4. As of right now, we return zero starters next year. Johnson and Johnson hurt.
  5. Wtf, he just transferred there!
  6. Gathings back in the portal…
  7. Looks like Graham is no longer listed on the roster
  8. Do not mind Okonkwo entering the portal at all. Think we can find another big to match or exceed his production. Is Austin Parks still available!?
  9. Not a knock on basketball one bit, but $ has been thrown at basketball and for the most part status quo has been maintained (I’d argue up about half a notch from KD’s peak). Meanwhile, football has been required to whore themselves out to championship contenders, has no NIL support, had training table taken away, and has boosters volunteering so the players can have a nutritious breakfast once a week…and seems to be on a slow but steady rise. An argument could be made that Moorhead is actually doing more with less at the moment.
  10. Part time starter from Samford.
  11. It would be so Akron to spread revenue sharing out evenly among athletes instead of focusing on sports that generate revenue.
  12. Great analysis as usual @catdaddyp I agree that DL seems to be the biggest weakness. Question marks at a number of position groups, but should have good potential/good competition in all of them where a starter isn't already solidified...looking forward to see how it all shakes out. With 9 open scholarships still to fill, we can still get quite a bit better.
  13. Yeah makes sense. I’d personally exclude the stadium. Also don’t think entire cost should get allocated to football team if you do include it.
  14. I wonder if we do lose money hosting games. Wouldn’t think it would be that expensive.
  15. We just got a guy who played Wilson/Lyles/Okonkwo like minutes on a bubble Big 10 team. Worse case scenario he’s a great bench player. I see him as a Gray-like player with high major size.
  16. Was it a poach if there’s been rumors Harris wouldn’t be here next season for months?
  17. Good points made. The addition of Briscoe (assuming he can contribute) gives us more size as well as older bro Mahaffey obviously. We got bigger, just not by the traditional 7 footer type.
  18. Posted in another thread, but wanted to put here as well: There is now an easy option to contribute directly to the MBB NIL fund on the collective’s website.
  19. Devries left WVU for Indiana. I believe WVU job is still open.
  20. Understood, but have been told you can make a contribution to the “general fund” and state which account you want it allocated to.
  21. You can specifically designate basketball for the collective. Of course, you do not get a tax deduction for donating to the collective like you would the university, however (assuming you itemize).
  22. Tough to see how they’d fit in the rotation with as much depth as we are returning. That’s not a knock on them though.
  23. Agreed on playing time, but I'm not sure where he'd go if he were to transfer right now (probably low-major/D2). His best bet is probably to continue to develop as the staff proves they can do it time and again. Then see what the landscape looks like at the time he's ready to really contribute.
