At least Irons is looking good. His passes and decision making on point.
-
We look like doo doo.

Can't believe Irons is playing. I know we complain about playing these top programs, but its fun watching us on the big stage. Go Zips!

Lower body injury and day to day is all thats been shared. Better than saying out a month or season I suppose. The wording gives me hope for MAC play.

Too bad he shanked a chip shot field goal before the half.

FWIW (and I'm not saying talent level didn't need upgraded), only 4 of them were scholarship players - Marousek, Singleton, Wade, and B Bischoff. B Bischof was brought in by Bowden and Singleton is def a D-1 player...was getting many reps by the new staff. I think grades were issue there. Marousek and maybe Wade would have been the only real whiff there by Arth.

Call me crazy, but I think living in our region of the country is going to be more desirable as time goes on. We have a significant amount of the most valuable resource in the world right here - water. Anyone see what's going on out west? No water, no electricity, forest fires, warming temperatures. Happy to vacation there, but I wouldn't want to live there.

I'd stay at ISU over Nebraska if I were him. Lifestyle isn't going to change too much if you're making 5mm vs 7mm annually. Set for life and future generations either way, and there is much more risk at Nebraska, when on the other hand, he's basically a God at ISU

Oddly enough, Vantrease beating Nebraska may very well cost Iowa State Matt Campbell.

Anyone notice any other injuries against MSU besides Irons? Noticed Adams didn’t play and Gathings seemed to reaggravate whatever he’s dealing with after his catch.
-
Day to day for Irons is certainly encouraging. Just save him for Liberty if he's good to go or even just MAC play honestly.

Screw that entitled fan base.

Game 2: Akron ZIPS @ Michigan State - Score Prediction (POLL)

I wasn't able to watch all of the game, but was wondering why Undercuffler was put in. I hope Irons is able to get back, but being carted to the locker room is not a good sign. He was looking good. If there's any sign who our QB1 was...we now know. Zips competed tough the first quarter and a half. Also, strip drills all week! 6 fumbles (4 lost), is totally unacceptable and kept us from points on at least 2 drives -

silly question, but does anyone know when Zips Weekly and Live are airing this season, as well as the stations? I haven't seen anything put out by the Athletics Dept. -
Offensive Depth Chart and Snap Count - Week 1

Owen Murphy (OL) must be hurt. I feel like he was one of our better OL last year. Seems the staff is still trying to figure out who they want to use at Center full time. -

We aren't yet dangerous enough to pull off a Northwestern or Pitt type upset. A win for me would be keeping it respectable. No 49-7 type games. Also looking forward to see any lineup mix ups as a result of week 1. Most importantly, stay relatively healthy. -
Yes. We would all like him to play a little more consistent, but I found other issues on the team to be a bigger problem. We'll get a taste of Undercuffler against MSU and Tenn I'm sure, so we'll get a better feel of who the QB should be going forward based on how both perform. I would like to see some more designed runs for DJ as well, but I think its reasonable that the OL failing to provide adequate pass protection more often than not played a part in the performance.

Random thought, but we were missing what should be 5 starting caliber players on D, and probably at least 2 starters. Amankwaa was our best CB last year and he wasn't dressed, Richardson (who was sent to media day) wasn't dressed, and I don't believe Ravonte Holt was dressed. Robinson & Threatt were both dressed, but I don't believe either played at all (not even special teams IIRC). Wonder what's going on there. Hopefully a couple of those guys can get back and be contributors or starters.

I thought the same in person.

Whether we want it or not, if the line doesn't step up (I am hopeful with the 2nd half play), then we will see #13 this year, as well as potentially the 3rd string QB.

Fortunately 1 game, and even a loss to a lower level team doesn't make or break a season. Northwestern played in the B1G championship the year we beat them. Pitt lost to WMU last year, but won the ACC Championship. Last night was scary but we won. There is no denying we have more depth, experience, talent, better coaching, and better strength from last year. It will take the guys some time to gel. Luckily for us, our first 3 games are pretty predictable and don't mean much for the season. The first real glimpse we'll have at what we'll get come conference play will be vs Liberty...just stay relatively healthy and compete vs MSU and Tennessee in the meantime.
