  1. You make some good points. And you have some good information. Perhaps the quality of player from ten years ago is no longer available; the landscape has changed. But the effort should still be there regardless of skill level. This team lacks conviction of purpose. How does a team regain this? That is the challenge for Embick and company.
  2. If not Wednesday, then when?
  3. Appalling lack of effort and/or focus!
  4. Each of us fans, long term or otherwise, is ENTITLED to demonstrate our displeasure with the team we love, so long as we are not menacing, or profane, or Etc. etc. I booed them openly and loudly on Saturday. Not sure I have ever done that before, and if so, it has been decades since. l have abiding affection and support for our coaches, and for our players. But all that will NEVER compare to the undying love I have for University of Akron Soccer. This program is bigger than any one of them, and it is bigger than any one of us. Our team is woefully shabby and lousy right now. Without grit. Without pride. And I am FULLY justified in angrily expressing myself about it. I make no apology in doing so. Appalling? Appalling?!? Repeated lame-assed slow hospital balls across one’s own goal mouth is truly appalling! Get real. I will be there Wednesday in full voice. You know where to find me.
  5. I am happy not sharing Marla. Selfish.
  6. Another good article by Marla. Zips MSOC owes her some sort of recognition. She cares. And she ain’t no cheerleader neither. Anyone paying attention knows that Skye Harter is not fit. No medical degree is necessary to observe. Injury Rehabilitation is tough on anyone, and it is something we will all likely face eventually.
  7. I am invested in this program long term. I am as constant as The Northern Star. I will be sitting in that row come Match Day. Even better if it is too crowded for me to sit there, but....
  8. http://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/undefeated-winless-watch.2106453/ "I imagine there has never been in a time in history that two Final Four teams from the previous year start the season at 0-10-2 as have Akron and Michigan State. Shows you how fragile teams are at this level with injuries, playing challenging schedules and the parity among teams. Two great programs with great coaches who I'm sure will find their form as the season moves on. "
  9. Yes, absolutely. Zips have no other path to NCAAs but to win the MAC. God help us if Zips do not win the MAC!
  10. Happy Birthday ? Will Jackson. Please consider scoring a celebratory goal in Huntington WV.
  11. I do not believe that ANY of our Zips should be planning a professional career right now. Adidas is not going to sponsor any player from a winless team that doesn’t score goals, surrenders double-digit Corner Kicks per match, commits double-digit fouls per match, and cannot string together five productive passes to save somebody's life. Pittsburgh shot the ball 18 times last night!!!! 18!!!
  12. If Zips are to reverse this terrible start of the season, it will only be done with the fervent support of our AK Rowdies.
  13. Yes. Pretty much all season (so far).
  14. I am trying to buy ACC Network right now. Looks like on ESPN+, but is not.
  15. Carlo Ritaccio, I am calling you out! Do! Not! Let them shoot! Make every tackle ferocious! 1) Everybody listens to you. 2) You can take it.
  16. I would prefer being the worst 4-0 team in the history of college soccer.
  17. Yes, we had some chances, ones that went begging. Jackson is not living up to his athletic potential. His bad runs and errant passing are insufferable. I keep believing that a light will switch on inside him. Egbo had a few half chances, but he was rather too easily contained by Terps' back four. His effort was inconsistent. Again. Now, Pacheco was again a handful for the opposition and a tough cover. He struck the inside of the far post this time. That poor guy is playing his heart out. It is hard to believe he has yet to score this season. But then again, it is hard to believe that Zips have scored only twice in four matches. Right now Zips look better on the coaching board than they do on the pitch. They are actually less than the sum of their parts. Everybody must play with more grit to beat a much improved Pittsburgh Panther side. It is time to bring the bite.
  18. Well.... We must win the MAC or stay home.
