  3. Chris Brennan did commit to Bowling Green on June 12th the article below....says he wanted to go to a school away from home...but not too far away. Talented, hard working young man. I wish him well in all games with the exception of matchups against the zips http://highschoolsports.cleveland.com/news/article/-6394689818712866934/copley-junior-chris-brennan-wins-clevelandcom-boys-soccer-player-of-the-year-2014-slideshow/

  8. if you go to akron u. soccer twitter, there is a tweet about brad ruhaak scoring a goal. says that the zips are heading to brazil next week. I was told shortly after the fall schedule came out, that they were very close to having the brazil trip funded. This will be a great experience for this hard working group of student athletes. tweet says: The pride of Akron Zips Brad Ruhaak rips a 30 yard bomb for his first goal as a Buck. Heading to Brazil with the Zips next week. Come home!
  9. ZipME87, thanks much for the clarification. Very glad to hear that jesse and Anthony will be back in the fall.
  10. I don't follow the PDL league. Is this just a summer league or does this mean that these 2 will not play for the zips in the fall?
  11. Zips dominating pace of play but Sigma FC takes early advantage, 1-0, on 7' goal Najem nets equalizer for Akron in 12' with goal. Najem scores second goal off assist from Holthusen in 15' to give Akron a 2-1 advnatge over Sigma FC Najem collects third goal beating keeper right in front of net in 21' off Gainford assist, Zips leading Sigma FC, 3-1 Shot by Dakwar from top of box narrowly misses net hitting post in 25' Dakwar gives Akron a 4-1 lead with 34' goal knocking in deflection off GK on shot by Gainford
  12. thanks much for the info on Itopa. I am looking forward to seeing the full recruiting class to see if there are any transfers or international additions. Mr. Kahsay needs to stay at Akron as they will be very good next year.
  13. that is a great schedule. This will really help the zips prepare for the post season. I give a great deal of credit to Jared Embick for putting together this schedule
  14. holding an elite team scoreless for 48 minutes...while playing 9 vs. 11.....shows a tremendous amount of tenacity .... Will be interesting to read comments from Jared...and also from zips fans that made the trip to the Ville.... very good result after dealing with much adversity
  15. per Louisville twitter....Souto got 2nd yellow card at 42 minutes so, zips will play 9 vs. 11 for the last 48 minutes
  16. I did not....I live in NW Tennessee. I just followed the twitter updates
  17. Ezana Kahsay - I did not see this young man's name in the twitter writeups. Is he still with the team? does any one know how Ismail Seremba is recovering from his surgery?
  18. lineup for 2nd game with wright state DeMoya, Devera, Cregan, Radjen, Weidt, Sanda, Dos Santos, Nanchoff (like that name ) ; Garcia-Aguilar, Gainford, Macchionne WSU led 1-0 at half as DeMoya was wrong footed on deflected shot 53 minutes- gainford beats his man who connects with holthusen who finds machionne at the top machionne drills it into top corner to make it 1-1 73 minutes-gainford beats a few guys at top of box and drives his shot low...off the post and in ...2-1 zips
  19. Lineup: Fenlason, De Vera, Ruhaak, Souders, Shultz, Souto, Laryea, Najem, Sepe, Garcia-Aguilar, Dakwar. Kickoff in about 25min. above was the lineup used against the Pittsburgh riverhounds ended in 1-1 tie Dakwar scored at 15 minutes off a thru ball by Souto... akron mens soccer twitter had many updates during the game... on recruiting question....neither caleb or jared has ever released the class anywhere close to national signing day. They also only lost a few seniors...Saad and Clint Caso... so, most people are not expecting a big recruiting class
  20. they have not released the class yet. they have 2 exhibition games today in Pittsburgh. Will be interesting if any players joined the team in January and if they play today.
  21. glad to see that Wright State will travel to Pittsburgh as well. Jared obviously wanted many guys to get playing time so glad to see that they will be able to play 2 games. AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron men's soccer team under the direction of third-year head coach Jared Embick will open its spring exhibition schedule this Sunday, March 15, as the Zips travel to Pittsburgh, Pa., to battle the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL (United Soccer Leagues) and Wright State. Game times at Highmark Stadium are set for 1 and 3 p.m., respectively.
  22. so are the zips still playing Wright State on that day at Cub Cadet Field? one part of the team in pittsburgh and other part of team in Akron?
  23. It has not been released yet. Last week's Wistrcil weekly e-mail said it should be coming soon.
