  2. http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/the91stminute/2015/10/poor-deandre-yedlin-is-having-a-rough-go-in-england/hope he can get some playing time soon
  3. http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/soccer-men/d1/ncaa-mens-soccer-rpiZips up to #5 as 10-0-0 Creighton slips to #8 Akron's opponent's this week are #32 and #195 in this week's RPI However, last week showed that there are no easy soccer games for the elite teams Creighton defeated #138 DePaul 1-0 Old Dominion has a very good team...but they defeated #191 Fla. Atlantic (0-5-4 record) 2-1 in overtime Old Dominion dropped from #23 to #33 in this week's RPI Denver was #7 in last week's RPI...they had a 1-0 win over S. Florida (#6 in this week;s RPI)....then they played #149 IUPUI (0-8-1) and IUPUI and Denver played to 1-1 tie. as ME87 said, this is a tough travel week for the zips....Zips need a big crowd for a tough Santa Clara team
  4. ME87....great meeting you as well. Hope you had safe travel back to ATL last night and home today. I just got back to NW Tenn. I am watching a future zips opponent on BTEN network (spartans trailing the buckeyes 2-0 with 15 minutes to go). Zips really played hard last night. Very glad to be there to see them earn a hard fought "W".
  5. Lighting was extremely poor. Referee called very few fouls and the ones that he did....seemed to be due to crowd reaction. Victor's yellow card was not deserved. Different lineup....with Tyler Sanda playing the entire 2nd half and OT. Sam did not play until 2nd half. Robby Dambrot played the entire game. Jake had a very good game as he was very aggressive on the corner kicks.
  6. Creighton is still 10-0-0 but dropped down to 9...due to strength of schedule... Akron moved up to 5....according to gaucho dan http://rpiupdatemenssoccer.blogspot.com/search/label/RPI%20RankNorthern Illinois has moved up to #36...with a 1-0 overtime win over Bowling Green in the mac opener for both teams

  8. thanks for the lineup and the detailed report the penn state paper has several additional quotes from their coach www.collegian.psu.edu/sports/men_soccer/ you will have to click on the akron article when you get to their main soccer page nice quote from Warming about 6 akron future pros...obviously, he is talking about Richie, Adam, Victor and Sam....would think Andrew is a 5th
  9. 24-6 in shots 6-3 in corner kicks
  10. and pay the nittanies back for that painful 1-0 loss on their turf last november
  11. in a score from tonight...that should help Akron's RPI.....Ohio State defeated Louisville tonight 1-0 in Columbus in a matchup of two future zip opponents...Michigan State scored at 88:12 tonight to defeat Bowling Green 1-0
  12. It is always good to see how the coaches ratings compare to the RPI. Akron stayed at #9 in this weeks rankings 1. Creighton 2. N. Carolina 3. Stanford 4. Coastal Carolina 5. Clemson 6. Wake (wake and clemson played to 1-1 tie on Sunday) 7. Notre Dame 8. Denver 9. Akron 10. Elon 11. Virginia 12. Old Dominion 13. Maryland Georgetown is 16 2 new schools in the top 25....that I did not realize were quality soccer programs..St. Francis (NY) at 22 and Utah Valley University at 25 www.nscaa.com/rankings/4446/NCAADivisionI/men/poll5
  13. If this holds, Akron would host the round of 32, the round of 16....and then have to play one of the top 4 teams on the road in the quarterfinals. You will notice that this week's opponents...Penn State and UAB are not in the top 60 for RPI. Santa Clara is #36 in the RPI. It is a long season. I would expect that Maryland and Georgetown will be much higher in the RPI by the end of the season and this will help the zips
  14. I can't figure out to copy and paste any more so I will try to type in address http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/soccer-men/d1/ncaa-mens-soccer-rpi
  15. This afternoon - Michigan 2 Penn State 0 Michigan keeper had 5 saves...PSU keeper had 1 Michigan moves to 2-0-1 in Big ten...draw with maryland and 3-0 win over Northwestern
  16. gaucho dan.....shows the zips moving from 18 to 11 in rpi with this win and UCSB dropping from 16 to 25 with the loss thank you, gaucho dan....for your real time rpi update.....
  17. live stats show akron 13-6 in shots and 9-1 in shots on goal great effort by the zips.... very glad to see Stuart contribute well in the last 16 minutes
  18. video is much worse in 2nd half jesse garcia aguilar playing well danilo radjen in starting lineup for 2nd half
  19. http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-articles/mens-preview:-separating-the-contenders_aid37616 Gaucho Mike, thanks for info on RPI. That RPI is actually linked in the wake Forest-clemson writeup on the top drawer web site. I am blaming the zips coaches for scheduling a long one game road trip so soon after playing a home match. It is not easy to get from Akron to Santa Barbara and the players lose a lot of time away from the classroom. I would rather play Indiana or Notre Dame or Louisville than have a long plane trip and then a long bus ride in congested So Cal traffic.
  20. Gaucho Mike, looking forward to watching the game on video and seeing the great crowd. UCSB really supports their soccer. I was thinking that the first official NCAA mens soccer RPI does not come out until Sept. 28. Who does the RPI estimating that you have attached? Is it usally pretty close to the official NCAA RPI?
  21. tonight was not a good night for the other teams in the MAC. Top Drawer soccer had Western Michigan ranked at #18. WMU was 5-0-1 before today and had given up 1 goal all year in 6 matches. They had tied Dayton 1-1 on Sunday. WMU lost today 2-0 to Valparaiso. Bowling Green was 6-1 before today...they went down to play Dayton today. final - Dayton 6 Bowling Green 0 unrelated to other MAC teams...Akron's 1-0 win over Georgetown continues to look impressive. Georgetown had a high quality 2-1 win over Maryland today.
  22. I love this year's tough schedule. The one thing that I did not like when the schedule came out....was the team flying out to La-La land.....and playing a game 3 nights after a super tough home game....and then flying all the way back after one game....to host a tough Penn State team. Cal Santa Barbara has not played a game recently in Akron. I can understand the 2011 game out there....but going out there again in a short turnaround after playing Wake Forest.....does not make sense. If the zips come out flat and listless at Cal Santa Barbara, they will drop out of the top 25. Like ZIPME87, I know this team has the talent and work ethic to go out to La-la land and put a loss on the taco throwing Gaucho team. The good news for the zips in the rankings....is that #8 Elon went to S. Carolina last night and lost 3-1 and #10 Oregon State lost last night to an unranked Gonzaga team. If the zips play like they did in the last 20 minutes last night, I am confident that this team can post "w's" against Cal Santa Barbara and Penn State. This is a solid group of high character kids and I am confident they will flip the switch completely.
  23. http://www.nscaa.com/rankings/4366/NCAADivisionI/men/Poll4 Akron and Penn State both tied Ohio State last week. Penn State dropped from #13 to #21. Zips went from #11 up to #9. Wake Forest dropped from #7 to #15 after losing to Elon
  24. zips are going to have 2 tough games this week. Cal Santa Barbara went into Bruin land last night and spanked UCLA 4-2
