  1. http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soc...winner_aid28128 very nice comments about Scott in this article
  2. soccer can be a cruel game.... but it is not random...or only determined by lapses time of possession, precision passing, more corner kicks, excellent defensive players, more shots on goals, mid fielders that see the entire field and make fine passes, far side backs with speed that make good passes into the box, forwards that can clear space for their own shots, a goalie that is having a good year, a coach with a solid and dependable game plan....all factor into predictions... you can see that the zips....do well in all those categories JR Eskilson correctly predicted that the zips would beat Michigan and Louisville in 2010 final four... He has already predicted Zips in the final four
  3. http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soc...-round_aid28119 the college soccer professor....predicts an Akron win and a loss by Connecticut....
  4. I am guessing that the kid from UCLA must have had 11 brothers and sisters. UCLA soccer fans are not that passionate. I think that the kids's family was heavily involved in the voting
  5. you guys did an amazing job.... great job by all of you that voted hundreds or thousands of times
  6. Louisville and Indiana attendance really surprise me....
  7. have to love it that #7 Marquette from the big (L) east goes down in flames
  8. Beacon has an article up all ready says Reinaldo is day to day with hamstring... says Alfred is in the hospital the referee was horrible 17 fouls for akron to 6 for Blue when Akron had the ball most of the time
  9. talk about discouraging... I voted for Scott 30 times and his margin dropped from +1.0% to 0.9% I then voted 20 more times and got Scott up from 23.5% to 23.6% UCLa kid was at 22.5% when I started....he must have voters too...as he increased to 22.6% while I was voting 50 times for Scott getting ready to leave for the game... go, zips
  10. Indiana going wild against Xavier 4-1 Hoosiers at 88 minutes...now a final 1-1 after 66 minutes hoosiers scored at 67, 80 and 83 hat trick for nikita kozlov notre dame 2 michigan state 0 at halftime georgetown 1 charlotte 0 at 86 minutes...now a final....8-8 in shots...lots of yellow cards in this one connecticut 1 northeastern 0 final....CT scored at 23 minute mark northeastern led 10-5 in shots for the game

  12. ucla kid has taken the lead
  13. I think the Zips will take care of business....and we will have plenty of ammunition after the tourney The reasons given to TW.....are weak... they gave him top 25 wins... isn't the top 25 convenient....as Akron had wins over #26 (S. FLA), #27 (Mich) and #30 Michigan state... change it to top 30 and argument falls apart.... and lets address Connecticut's weak results they lost to #74 Providence... Providence ended the year at 4-10-2.... so Providence was only able to beat Connecticut and 3 other teams Connecticut tied #78 Boston U. Boston U. finished the year 6-8-4 so 8 teams defeated BU and CT could not get it done
  14. what he wrote about his conversation with NCAA selection committee If you attended our Official NCAA Selection Show Party at Johnny J’s in the Valley, then you heard Coach Porter express our surprise at earning the No. 5 seed, but that this will not impact our team. I spoke for 30 minutes on Tuesday to the chair of the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Selection Committee and to the NCAA staff liaison to ask why the math doesn’t add up. I wanted to understand how the No. 1- ranked team in all of the national polls – and ranked second in the RPI – equated to the fifth seed in the NCAA Tournament. Basically, it was explained to me that our number of Top 25 wins (one, over Indiana) was the difference maker, since Georgetown and Connecticut each have four. Unlike those other two schools, we don’t have any bad losses, but it was helpful to understand better the committee’s decision-making criteria, and I genuinely appreciate the opportunity to discuss this with them. We will continue to schedule as tough a non-conference slate as we can (this year we had the toughest non-conference strength of schedule in the nation) to position ourselves for a top-4 seed, which guarantees home matches until the College Cup.
  15. Washington was not #10 in the last NSCAA coaches poll. Marquette was #10. Washington climbed from #24 to #21 in this week's rankings. In the round of 32, the #12 seed should be facing the 21st ranked team Creighton probably deserved to be seeded higher than #12. However, their league also gets no respect as SIU-Edwardsville should be in the tourney
  16. not a super impressive night for the big (L)EAST...with south florida struggling to win st. johns losing to Fairleigh syracuse did win.... I hope to see some big east losses on sunday
  17. Apparently Zips soccer coach Caleb Porter is looking to give his team as much of a home pitch advantage as possible. A spokesman confirmed that Porter purchased 300 tickets for the AK Rowdies for this Sunday's upcoming NCAA Tournment game. Members of the Rowdies can pick up tickets at their campus office today or Friday during business hours. Or by participating in the March to the Match beginning at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

  20. Zips are motivated to take care of business.... they will do their talking on the field.... I will write a letter to Mr. Holy Cross......after the Zips have made it to Hoover
