  1. Correct!
  2. 2 for 2!
  3. I saved the best for last. Coach 5
  4. Since GP1 was curious about how Faust’s win graph might appear, I decided to make this into a game of sorts. First, here is Paul Winters win graph at Wayne State, since this is what prompted the curiosity in the first place. The next 5 replies are 5 additional graphs for UA “Coach 1” through “Coach 5”. I have deliberately left off the years along the bottom axis to make it (slightly) harder to guess. Have at it!
  5. Rocco looks like a solid candidate. Of course, Sam Rutigliano once coached at Liberty.
  6. I’ve attached an image of a graph as a data analysis example. The red “curve” is simply the actual data connected by lines. The thin black line is a linear “trend line”. The blue line is the arithmetic mean (average) of all the data points. If the data used in this example was the price of a stock, I think the shareholders would be pretty ecstatic looking at this. I doubt they would be hung up on the average price of the stock over this time. But this data does not represent a stock price. I’ll bet there are a few Zip fans out there that might be able to guess what this data actually represents!
  7. Story (with video) on Wayne State's playoff run
  8. Not that I disagree with your general point, but KD recently turned 53 and Winters was a SR RB at UA in 1979 (my 1st year at UA), so they have be very close in age.
  9. Thanks for posting the link! That's a nice Q&A they did with him. If he really tries to learn some French, he'll have it made in that city. I'm looking forward to seeing the new jerseys.
  10. To quote Lee Corso: "Not so fast, my friend!" I want to interview multiple candidates. Winters should be one of them. Any coach from Wisconsin or Minnesota shot not be one of them. And anyone caught asking for Barry Alvarez's advice should be fired. I've talked up Winters for some time now, but I agree the process should be allowed to play out. Mike Johnson and Matt Campbell both are intriguing candidates. I remember watching Mike play in WLAF games on TV after his Zip career (always was a sucker for goofy football leagues). He's got a nice mix of pro and college coaching experience and you would think he might be able to land a stud JUCO QB, perhaps even with this upcoming class. I've said before that I like Campbell's potential, but there's no way TW takes a chance like this for his 2nd football HC hire. Of course, TW might borrow another quote from Corso and say "ahh f--- it!" and go ahead and announce the hiring of Winters before the Wayne St season is even finished
  11. Mentor Patch Story
  12. And he managed to get Harlon Hill winner and current NFL (Saints practice squad) RB Joique Bell to go there. Dwight Smith was from Detroit IIRC. You would think Paul would have established ties with Detroit schools by now.
  13. There are few things as sad as the devastation substance abuse can bring to an individual and their family. Thoughts and prayers to the family.
  14. Thanks! It's always nice to see the Zip brand getting some promotion.
  15. Thanks It was hard to tell from the story, although it makes sense they would want to keep it more or less private. So it begs the question, did LeBron have to rent the fieldhouse and for how much?
  16. He's "advising" us to take a position coach with no experience running a team or calling plays. That's not encouraging at all. Anyone in particular?
  17. Buffalo just cruising now, up 80-50 with under 2:00 to go.
  18. I think he only looks at what the price was 7 years ago
  19. Watching U@B getting the better of Dayton 38-22 at the half. McRae (sp?) looking improved as advertised and the Bulls look solid all around. Watt has really improved. They're a smart team and the 2-3 zone is killing the Flyers. I think the Zips can still get it together, and that's a good thing because if they don't we could easily be looking at a 4th or 5th place finish in the East. It's that strong this year.
  20. My kid is a WVU alum, so I'm a big fan and pay close attention to the Mountaineers. I hope the post about Stew and Akron was a joke. He was not a good game day coach (sound like anyone else we know?), and he really made a mess at WVU on his way out. In spite of his record, Oliver Luck decided to get rid of him less than a year after becoming AD. It was a bit tongue in cheek. But Stewart might be the most hated coach ever with a 70% winning percentage at one school.
  21. And long snapper! And punter. Both graduating. Isn't LS Steiner a junior?
