  1. Wow.....this site has been hit or miss in the past. I'm reminded of the line in Dumb and Dumber. "So you're saying, there's a CHANCE!!!"
  2. I'm surprised it took me this long to vote. I went with JD.
  3. I saw this too, I think I am most surprised by Zarek not being protected. He played a lot of minutes for Chivas and him being picked up by Montreal could definitely happen. Hmmm being a member of the "other" LA team versus playing in a unique, multi-cultural city for a rabid fan base with several UA teammates to boot. And weather is not a huge factor, given the MLS summer season. If I were Zarek or Blair, I know I wouldn't be too disappointed to be selected. The Impact were already going to be my favorite MLS team. This just makes it even better for me
  4. Bump! I agree with Stewart Mandel. Griffin is my choice for Heismann winner in 2011.
  5. So you were sort of like Ryan Bingham? "Hey Youtube Tom.....what's in YOUR backpack?"
  6. So our voting choices are "Fick yes" or "Fick no"? Or we could borrow Corso's line: Fick That!
  7. It's interesting that Valpo pretty much controls Duquesne 84-68. I don't think we can overestimate how much having a "banged up" Alex for only 6 minutes versus the Dukes influenced that result.
  8. Great clearance at the end there by ? Way to go Zips!!
  9. SMU must still be reeling from Corso's F-Bomb
  10. Doing a little research myself, it appears Westcott Field has natural grass but with the drought conditions much of Texas has faced it's probably a very hard surface regardless. Link
  11. Very fortunate there. I assume with the way the ball is bouncing that this field has an artificial surface? Zips are having a little trouble controlling the high bounces.
  12. Because that worked out so great for us the last three times. Who? L.O was an OL coach. JD was a WR coach Coach I was a recruiting coord. Correct on LO & Rob, but Brookhart was OC for Pitt.
  13. Exactly! These are quality teams whether all of us want to believe that or not.
  14. Winters' Wayne St Warriors come back from a 21-6 deficit to win 48-38 on the road at St Cloud St in the opening round of the D-2 playoffs. This is Wayne St's 1st win EVER in the playoffs.
  15. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a choke. I say it was a missed opportunity to establish yourself as a team that can rise above circumstances and defeat a decent team on their home court when the calls are mostly going against you. I believe, just like NBA players who develop a reputation and consequently get "the calls", teams can also help themselves down the line by winning games like this. There's no question Akron whips Valpo 9 out of 10 times on a neutral court with impartial officiating. We'll see how resilient this re-tooled squad is very early in this season.
  16. Homer Drew may have retired, but HOMER is still very much present in these Horizon officials.
  17. Walsh getting dribble happy.
  18. Miss St wins championship of 2K coaches against cancer 67-57 over #16 Arizona.
  19. Granted, Broekhoff's off to a slow start this year compared to his near 45% clip of last year.
  20. +1000. Totally agree. Valpo has 3 point shooters at basically every position...should be interesting to see tonight... When your leading rebounder is also a 3 pt threat (from down under, no less), there's no doubt you guys are right about a key to this game. Guard the arc!
  21. I believe people are touting the schedule because it IS that good. Early season results have made an already decent schedule look like a very good schedule. Currently, the Zips are merely 2 pt favorites over Valpo. Why? Because Valpo has started the season looking to be much improved with Bryce (sp?) Drew as HC (son of longtime Valpo coach Homer and the same guy who hit that game winning NCAA tourney shot a while back) AND they are playing at home. Everyone knows the home court advantage is at least a +/- 5 point swing in NCAA hoops. I don't think you're necessarily over-estimating the Zips abilities. But I do think you might be under-estimating teams like Valpo, Duquesne, MTSU, Marshall, etc. I'm looking at how these teams are performing THIS year, not over recent years.
  22. +1 Way to go Zips!!!!
  23. Bulldogs hold on to beat #16 Texas A&M 69-60, but they sure are a hard team to watch.
  24. Miss St up on Texas A&M 50-37 in the 2nd half
  25. Goal Scotty Caldwell! Zips 1 Cats 0
