  1. It's a little late for this season but how about the following "modification" to a popular UA cheer: Eat 'em up --> Buy 'em out Eat 'em up --> Buy 'em out Go Zips go! --> Rob must go!
  2. I’ve been a supporter of Winters on this board before, and I stick by the assertion that he’s done a really nice job in a very difficult place to win. Having said that, the Wayne State loss over the weekend at home to Findlay is eerily reminiscent of games UA somehow managed to lose with Paul as OC under Lee Owens. They did manage to still make the playoffs, but will be forced to win on the road at St Cloud next Saturday if they want to make a run. A record of 8-3 and a D-2 playoff berth is nice, but there’s no question Paul was shooting for more this season. We’ll see if he can get his team, especially the defense, to elevate their game in the playoffs.
  3. CSU finishes off Vandy, with relative ease actually, 71-58.
  4. CSU still up 52-45 with 7:16 to go. Beating the Vikings will be tough, especially up there. They bring that typical pressure defense and tough, physical rebounding. Keeping Long etc off of the offensive glass will need to be a priority. The little FR PG reminds me of DJ Cooper in a way.
  5. +1000 If you had told me even 5 years ago that I would accept a loss to K.E.N.T. so easily as I did today, I would never have believed you. It's a testament to the excellent company and hospitality provided by the Lot 9ers that such a blow-out loss could be somehow taken without total disgust this year. I'll definitely be back next year regardless of results on the field. You guys and gals are too much fun! Hopefully we'll all see some success much earlier than any of us can imagine right now. Go Zips!
  6. Calling Gerry Faust an optimist is like calling Keener an adequate griller
  7. This video is a little old (May of this year), but it does a good job of summarizing the UPA "Master Plan". The proposed arena shows up around the 3:08 mark. As someone who is a big fan of Lock 3, I like the idea of transforming it even further. Maybe it's all pie-in-the-sky, but it would be great if some of this comes to fruition IMO.
  8. Some scouting of Detroit, Marshall and Valpo on Andy Katz's (ESPN) blog. It's interesting that the Zips aren't even mentioned among key non-conference tests for the Blundering Terd
  9. I'll be bringing the following new entries tomorrow, and they'll all be consumed 1) Unibroue Trois Pistoles 2) Unibroue Don de Dieu 3) Unibroue Maudite 4) Unibroue Blonde de Chambly 5) Rivertown Brewing Company Winter Ale
  10. Story from the ND perspective
  11. Gaffney article on B Wags heading into the rivalry game. It's exactly what you'd expect from such a competitor.
  12. Could you imagine how good the Lakers might have been if Kareem or Magic was in the 6th man role? Diggs starts. Period. Remember when Kevin McHale was the best sixth man in the NBA? One second after the game started, the Celtics would send him to the scorer's table to enter the game. He was actually a starter. It was a joke. Diggs is the best player on the team and looks like what a D1A basketball player should look like. It's called talent and this program finally has the talent it could have had for years. I like Keith Dambrot Version 2.0 much more than Version 1.0. I might even start calling him KD2.0. Like GoZips, I believe Harney has greater upside and may reach it soon. Some writer commented that they can see him winning multiple MAC POY awards. I think that is why GoZips he believes Diggs should take the 6th man role. I think Diggs will always start. It is a nice arguement to have...too much talent and who should start. No doubt! There's nothing wrong with adjusting the starting lineup, based on individual matchups versus the competition, either.
  13. The weather is shaping up to be terrific for tomorrow's tailgate and game. Come on football Zips, hop on the winning wave Men's Hoops started Wednesday and Futbol will continue tonight!
  14. Could he perhaps be the insider threat? Sort of like this guy? -->
  15. Perhaps blaming iCoach IS misplaced. OK then, I blame jupitertoo for our gridiron troubles of late
  16. I have to disagree on that point. If Zeke gives it his best, the only thing that would prevent him from falling short (of an NBA career) is a major injury (hate to even think about that). His combination of height, length, agility, intelligence and speed is EXTREMELY rare.
  17. I was intrigued by UDC and found out that Jeff Ruland is their coach. The former NBA player and Iona star (and coach I believe) should be able to do a nice job there. To be honest, I didn't even know there was such a school until yesterday.
  18. Beacon article has Ianello saying that Moore will be the starting QB. What's up with that, dreal?
  19. I enjoy reading your comments and opinions on the Zips. +1 I'd be a little disappointed if you didn't come across as VCU-centric at times. Isn't that to be expected?
  20. I don't want to look too far ahead myself, in spite of this well deserved victory. Valpo and Duquesne will both be nice tests in Valpo. We shouldn't necessarily assume anything solely based on this great start. But I sure like our prospects.
  21. 2-0 versus MSU!!
  22. Big FTs!
  23. Is something wrong with Chauncey?
  24. Great first half, but the old cliche that the first five minutes of the second half are key is usually true.Go Zips!ps. Zeke is doing just fine!
  25. Best Zip slam in ages!
