Couldn't agree more! CK's chili, with its smoky mesquite flavor and its spicy kick (he could call it mesq-HEAT), was my all-around favorite

Mine's tasting better

Louisiana-Lafayette likes to call themselves simply "Louisiana", which of course makes LSU and Lousiana-Monroe not too happy. I believe UL-Lafayette attempted to change the name officially, but the state wouldn't allow it (no doubt influenced by LSU). I'm pretty excited about this one. Tailgating right in the middle of Cajun Country in the fall of 2015? Now THAT'S a unique culinary delight & college football experience to look forward to!! My wife and I have already marked this road trip down.

That looks about right to me. I pretty much agree with your list of players who have stood out. Nick Caponi has also made a few plays this year, from the Indiana game on. Suel and Blake are mysteries and this is particularly concerning for any hopes that iCoach might be able to land a solid JUCO class in 2011.

You might be onto something, even if it's only for entertainment value. I'm in!

Make sure to stop in Lot 9!

Interesting pre-game article from the WMU point of view. Check out the nice pics of happier times! Is that Sir Horatio Shuttlebobberzipswin in the background?????

PA H-Back Nick Rossi Commit
johnnyzip84 replied to Captain Kangaroo's topic in Akron Zips Football Recruiting
Thought we could use something a little positive like this story on Nick Rossi's HS season so far. It's a few weeks old, but I checked and Riverside is still undefeated at 7-0. -
There will be at least a 1:1 -to-fan ratio for the remaining 3 home games.

sorry, couldn't pass this one up! With all your tongue-in-cheek military personnel knowledge, one must wonder what military credentials you hold. Perhaps (and you set yourself up for this), maybe a stint with the US Navy as a "Rear Admiral". That's rank. that's Rank - u got me this time! It would appear that...................you were OUTRANKED Major Bummer

I hope he throws for 400 yards and loses just like he did against Toledo. So far Carder and his team have only figured out how to beat Nicholls State (whom I have never even heard of) and Ball State. We have GOT to be able to put some assemblance of a game plan together that can compete with that!?!? In General, I would say its a Major disappointment to learn that you have never heard of the Colonels. Fortunately for you, despite your lack of knowledge the Sargent at arms will be administering no Corporal punishment this time. Please Captain your resources to prevent this situation from reoccurring. If and when such punishment is required we will try to keep it Private. http://www.geauxcolonels.com/ Gerry's Kids even laid a Major whipping on Nicholls St back in '87 Alright, perhaps it was just a victory in General.

Up to #3. We're the ONLY MAC team in the Bottom 10.

The USA Today odds are edging downward to WMU by 7.5. The Broncos passing game will be a stiff test for the Zip secondary. Hopefully we'll see some more blitzing to disrupt their QB. I think Caleb Porter should call Bill Cubit immediately and let him know that if the Broncos try to run it up in the afternoon, they should expect some payback come evening

+1 Any nominees for our very own Bartman when it looks just as if we're about to turn the corner? Go Zips!!! Edit: We could use a Bill Murray, too

Zips Vs. Michigan (soccer)
johnnyzip84 replied to RootforRoo44's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
I really liked having the Michigan fans there as well. I was also in Ann Arbor last year, so getting the chance to witness a cumulative 12-2 beat-down over 2 games is quite remarkable and rewarding! I question whether UM will want to schedule UA again any time soon. It might be better for both programs to stay away from each other for a while, since the game last night got pretty chippy in the 2nd half. Go Zips! -
My wife and I will both have entries. Does that push the count to six? Also, I have spotted Ohio Brewing Company Verich Gold and Cardinal Ale in 6-pack bottles at The Mustard Seed. I even convinced my local convenience store owner to order me some (he has it on the shelf now). So for all of you OBC fans out there, I'd expect to see it start to appear in various Acme's, Giant Eagle's and Fisher Food's soon.

Hey if we could just win a few games, you might see circus tents pitched (albeit widely scattered) throughout the Info!

Isn't that what all coaches say? Seriously, I think you have a point. About the ONLY positive recruiting angle to take from a season like this is the legitimate argument that a prospect could indeed come in and play immediately. Of course it's up to iCoach to convince them that playing right away for HIM can be seen as an "opportunity".

I realize he wasn't playing well Saturday, or at any time since the Indiana game, but the Beacon wrap-up seemed to indicate a possible leg injury. Anyone hear more about this?
-
Isn't Men's Soccer playing Buffalo tomorrow? D.I.G. brings up a good point about rooting against Ianello. Regardless of the situation, I could never root against the Zips. But at some point, an iCoached team needs to pick up a W to soothe the diehards, even if just for a week. The longer we have to wait, the more unlikely it will seem to us that a turn-around ochestrated by him will ever occur. Enough specualtion. Go Zips!!! Beat the Kitties!!!
-
I watched about the same amount as you, Z.I.P. I agree the focus wasn't quite 100% for the Zips, and several Hertzog moments could have wound up as goals. But the Zips had even more chances in crunch time. Ampai was out there, but he wasn't on the ball nearly as much as usual. I expect him to breakout tomorrow night against U@B.

I would love to get Virginia as the third round match. Which would be at Lee Jackson for the trip to Santa Barbara. Let's give ole Virginy the warm hospitality they showed us in Cary. Who knows.......if this were to occur maybe we'd even be able to drag Kyle Martino to Akron to cover the game!

Honestly, I think I would like to see us win and start to play well. That's just me though. If your sole purpose to Akron football is to wait for a coach to be fired that we just hired, stop back in three years. Haha, no that's not my sole purpose. My sole purpose is to win, but what's the point? We are just that bad, and I'm facing it. I mean I want a win, but its not like we're gonna win the MAC east or anything. I just want our coach gone. The sooner that happens, the sooner we get this turned around. I'm not QUITE there with you yet, but I'm not too far away either. It's hard to imagine this one coming out close. OU's 2-headed monster at QB will likely have a lot of success. Although not a great passer, Bates is as good a runner as Spahn. And Boo Jackson will have one more shot at rubbing in the fact that he chose OU over Akron OU 41 Zips 20

Yes!!! Great day for the MAC. NIU is winning 2-0 at Northwestern
