  1. DZ84 picked up a few of these the other day: I'm not sure if this is a hint of desired vacation destinations, but I'm sure Z.I.P. would approve! It's a pretty tasty, pale ale. I give it a 4.5 out of 5. Nutty, dry, mildly hoppy.
  2. Joe McNamara Henry Orelus Justin Virbitsky - note, this last one is somewhat speculative on my part.....definitely not a given Clue
  3. That makes sense. He must be a relatively smart kid to be able to graduate a semester early. I thought about the Zeke analogy myself and I think it's a pretty good one. I think it's hard for alumni who grew up close to Akron to believe that others might actually have a pretty good impression of UA, either academically or athletically.
  4. I believe I saw in an article (can't find it now for some reason) where he is expected to sign "early" in November. I didn't even know a high school recruit could do that.
  5. Kickoff times announced I like the 6:00 pm starts for JMU and Lousiana., but buried at the bottom of the story is UA's annual attempt to screw loyal Lot 9 tailgaters. Honestly, what is the deal with the athletic department on this issue? So it looks like a $50 increase for some of us to tailgate in Lot 9 this year, although it's hard to draw any conclusions since the written policy and how it eventually plays out never seem to mesh from year to year. It also looks like non Z-Fund donors are getting the boot. We shall see.
  6. That's encouraging. IF (and it's a pretty big if at this point) MTB or Wolf becomes the Blackman/Crabtree of the Zip offense, 2013 could be a huge turnaround year. This development, if it occurs, changes everything.
  7. I believe you mean John Pont, grandson of former Miami/Yale/Indiana/Northwestern HC John (also) Pont, who also happens to be TB's son-in-law. But I am also optimistic that D'Orazio will lead the team in receptions. I also think TB is looking to Wolf or Traylor-Bennett to make noise as a gamebreaker straight out of the box.
  8. I agree Dr Z. In fact, not only were the coaches completely accessible, they were so well prepared that they answered most of my questions without me having to ask. I liked the idea of allowing TB to take the 1st putt for each group on a designated hole. Nice touch!
  9. My league prematurely called off last night's round, and it ended up being great conditions for those of us who played anyway. So I'm not worried about the forecast yet. Here is another promo for the event. Matt Kaulig deserves a lot of credit for his support.
  10. This is particularly useful for ZNO members, like JZ84, who are too lazy to scroll to the 2nd page of the brochure
  11. While it's nice in a way to even be included in a list of top 100 teams, this article was poorly researched and not very well written either. Malachi Williams and Dylan Brown? Sheeesh.
  12. Probably in his nether regions.
  13. The rag mentions WR Nick Harwell having left Miami after their all-MAC teams were selected. Look where he's headed.
  14. Does this make it semi-official?
  15. Eat 'em up, GO ZIPS GO!!!!!!
  16. Hey, I KNOW I'm not the only one!
  17. First of all, congrats and I hope all goes well! Secondly, I had forgotten about how hot it was indoors in Syracuse that year. The Carrier Dome being so uncomfortable was pretty ironic. Andy Hildreth?
  18. Buckley continues to work Florida for the future.
  19. The Lions are looking to end the MAC's Detroit bowl connection. This might not help with ESPN negotiations.
  20. Oh, I'm not ready to concede any road games (except Ann Arbor) at this point. I'm still hoping for UMass to be one of SEVERAL road wins. But if things don't go as planned, hopefully the Zips will still manage to win this one.
  21. I believe it was Hustle Belt that had them with the 2nd most difficult schedule among MAC teams (behind none other than our Zips), so perhaps there's some hope that they'll revert to their usual selves. Getting back to where the road losing streak might end, I wouldn't count out this place:
  22. Whether we have a chance with this young man or not, I LOVE the approach Buckley/Bowden/Staff are taking Hopefully, laying down an early foundation like this will eventually pay dividends. Below are Matt Jones' 2012 highlights:
  23. It stands at 26 games and gets a mention in this ESPN list. It's hard to believe it was back in 2008 against EMU in Ypsi when our punter/holder, reacting to a blocked FG, picked up the rock and gained a 1st down. Otherwise, the streak would be longer. Harder yet to believe, the Zips won a FEW road games that year, including one in the Carrier Dome (as a few of us witnessed).
  24. A capital S.T.E.A.L.
  25. A HS teammate of Manny Morgan, Darius Copeland is joining Manny at UA. ESPN Profile Who knew he'd wind up at UA? This story lists him at 6'2", 255 LB.
