I’m also a little concerned about the speed of the UCF defense causing holding penalties by our O-Line. Hopefully Dalton will not be forced to hold the ball long too many times, making it harder to avoid this likelihood. You’re definitely right that we can’t expect to compete if we turn it over and make things easier for them. The forecast looks absolutely perfect for tomorrow! Regarding the 23 ½ point spread, I did a little research over lunch. Now I’m fully aware that the 2012 Zips are a different team in a very different situation. But ponder this for a second. Terry Bowden’s Auburn teams were only defeated by more than 23 points TWICE out of 65 total games over his tenure on the Plains. His North Alabama teams were only defeated ONCE (last year’s quarterfinal D-2 playoff loss to Delta St) by more than 23 points during his stay in Florence. It’s something to consider.

Special Teams (the cornerbacks breakdown is posted on the TBuck thread) It's interesting that Punter Zach Paul might handle the longer FG attempts. It brings back images of Darren Alcorn to my old Zip fan brain. Based on the video, it looks like Dee Frieson is one of the punt returner candidates and Avis Commack is one of the kick returner candidates. I'm all in favor of #9 being on the field as much as possible (except for long, sustained drives by the other team of course).

Nice find, Zach. It's really strange to think that Jim Fleming will have either coached for or against (with two different opponents) the Zips for 3 of the past 4 seasons.
