Yes, double that with a 9 AM kickoff in their bodies, Akron probably has a little better chance than is being let on. I do expect the return trip to be an "after dark" 10:30 PM type kickoff (not as a retaliation, but just...seems to be how they're doing this sort of thing).

That makes sense. Surprised it didn't get announced, our homecoming time came out well in advance of the 12-day window. Maybe Miami does theirs at 12 sometimes?

We may know earlier than a 12-day window on the unknown-channel empty stadium game against UMass; I'm not sure how that setup works.

That's the fun of the 12-day window. Homecoming (10/10 EMU) is generally sorted as a 3:30 kick. But the Miami game kickoff time will be known Monday October 5, and the PCCC kickoff time will be known Monday October 12. The 12-day window probably also applies to the empty stadium games whose network isn't clear (the empty stadium games against Ohio and Western Michigan are ESPN-family and I think those kick at 7).

I think it's more that UNLV is making a long trip, has a 9 AM kickoff, and is themselves not too great.

To be fair, they are spending a bit more than Akron on NIL stuff as well, but yes. Getting the coach right matters.

When this is the play we're getting out of the two we have? No, we shouldn't. Shows our coaching staff can't evaluate guys they've had for years. We don't have the resources to bring in guys who aren't 100% for sure guaranteed eligible.

And how much more competent would they be if they got all the spring reps instead of the ineligible guy our coaching staff brought in?

He's only had 4 1/4 seasons. He has 14 wins already. What more do you want? Seriously though, things aren't good enough and Moorhead isn't the type to do more with less, but I'm glad their attitude was good today and they didn't give up from the jump.
