I know, I was being tongue in cheek. I'm really, really, really trying to get people to not freak about about my roster updates (players missing so on) because it literally means nothing, and appears to be as fluid as air or water.

Also new to the list is Freshman WR Andre Williams from Orlando Florida. Williams continues an Akron trend of signing players who only have one D-1 Offer, he fielded offers from Kentucky, North Carolina, Akron, Middle Tennessee, NC State and USF.

Interesting, McGriff has an impressive original offer list...was offered by MAC teams Akron, BG, NIU and Toledo but wound up at Akron. I take it he'll have to sit out this year? I have a feeling the roster will continually be updated until game 1, the washiness of it is really perplexing.

Eh, at least Joe Akron Would actually watch the game and probably root for Akron this time.

That's fair, I just wanted to make sure. Some don't realize it exists. I don't attend many games outside of Basketball or Football either, but I usually give the volleyball coach at my school the VB tickets, and I attend a soccer game or two if it's a nice evening/interesting opponent. Well worth it for three sports, not much so for two.

You know they do have a alumni season-ticket pass for all sports right? Ask them about it I bet they'd still give it to you. Is $170 for all sports. Though you really don't get to pick your seat, all general admission...but they've worked with me to upgrade seats before. Anywho, I'm the ZNO Bowden-cheerleader. If Bowden weren't the coach here anymore in the near future, I'd be happy with Les Miles. It's a pipe-dream, but it fits my biggest criticism of "who can you find who's better". No offense to Bowden, but Miles would be a step up for sure. Not saying he could work miracles here, but there'd be more press for Akron, and the recruiting profile I would assume would increase. Ianello -> Bowden -> Miles would be a positive program moving forward.

Don't act like you weren't implying that Bowden is a bad recruiter by making the point that "most we're their only D-I offer". It's CLEAR what you're implying. (hence, Bowden sucks comments). Trying to say not what you were implying is backpedaling, at best. You were also implying the loss of Barto as a negative for the team because he decided to walk onto memphis. You may not have said directly that Barto was a good LB, but you did mention it as a negative that he didn't end up here. We also have plenty of other guys who had 1, 2, 3 D-1 offers who are here and didn't walk-on somewhere else. Bringing it up as a negative isn't fair. You acknowledge the facts, and list the "ifs" as irrelevant. I disagree with you. The reasoning he left isn't irrelevant. Because implying, (and yes you are implying by how you've said things) as if it's unique to Akron, and it verifiably isn't. How about you go compile your own damn list Buck? So the walk on at Memphis didn't work for him Coulda had a D-1 full ride. Decided to walk-on to a program that in his home down. Didn't work out, so now he's at Eastern Illinois, a program no better off than ours in FCS. Now Buck Zip will continue to tell us how we missed out on this "great" LB, who ended up at not at a D-1 school, but an middle-ling FCS school. Here's according to 247: We'll ignore who's actually on rosters because I don't care to compare the two, and NOBODY actually knows how accurate rosters posted to websites are to reality. So just going by what's posted on 247 amount of 2017 recruiting class which the MAC school was their only D-1 offer. Eastern Michigan 19/25 (76%) EMU was their only offer, several of which (3-4) are now with other non-D-1 teams. No idea how many are actually at camp either, because I don't care to actually check their roster compared to their recruiting class. Bowling Green 9/21 (42%) First guy on the list who had four offers, and enrolled early, is now with a CC according to the site, another who had 6 offers (one from Auburn) is now at JUCO, most guys with multiple offers were other 1, 2 MAC schools. Buffalo 13/21 (61%) One guy with multiple offers (2) is now with a JUCO school according to the site. Ohio 11/22 (50%) This was more difficult, because guys would have "multiple" offers, but all except Ohio's would be FCS schools. Nathan Rourke who's other offer was Akron is now at JUCO. Another guy with multiple D-1 offers (E. Kentucky) is also at JUCO. Another two guys who's only offers were Ohio, are also now with JUCO. Akron 13/21 (61%) Will Barto had no other official offers according to this site, and of course we know he's gone. I think this is a fair sampling. It seems like this is just more the life of the MAC than it is because Akron/Bowden sucks.

Oh I'm not saying a big headliner...just about any cover band, and it's probably still be cheaper than those two they did book. I've gone to about 10 free concerts throughout Akron's weekly concert series this summer. All were not bad. Hell Wade Oval has some very good ones that draw huge crowds as well, and they wouldn't have to pay travel expenses for the artists.

Considering Will Barto's dad played at Memphis...maybe he wanted to go there, and had a change of heart. And isn't he from/living in Memphis? Like I get where you're coming from, but there's always more to the story. Did Will Barto really leave because it was Akron, or did he decide he didn't want to go to Ohio and be so far away from home. Perhaps it hit home a little for him. IDK, I just think it's unfair to use him as an example. We don't know how frequent this happens at other D-I schools not in the P5...because let's be real, the P5 teams are getting mostly kids who are gunning for the NFL or believe that they are. There's a reason I put a caveat on there that the Freshman class largely isn't on the list (for some reason, which I've seen happen in the past, to suddenly appear months later, sometimes even during the season. Literally you can't read into the GoZips Roster all that much.

I mean the predictions/write up cherry-picks a lot of stats (fair/unfair) talks about them...as if they have real value...and leaves out that Warren Ball will be toting the ball.

Because GT has to justify his job and go "look, I've posted my required videos to the website" and all of his managers will applaud him. When questioned on the lack of views, he'll conveniently say "it's because Zips fans don't care/barely exist!" Instead of the quality sucking therefore we know to stay away from it/cancel our subscriptions because of (which I recently did). And then when ZNO and zips fans complain about it, he'll unapologetically claim "it's because Zips fans don't generate traffic!" So essentially GT has created a circle where he's only accountable to himself and his own laziness. Brass are happy he's at least doing it, Zips fans don't view it because they know it's crap, it's crap because of his own laziness, he uses the non-click of Zips fans as evidence as to why he can continue doing the lazy work he is doing. So annoying.

Updated once more. Zips Roster UPDATE SPRING 2017.pdf Some of the Missing are freshman from the current class, why they're not on it (greyshirts?) I have no idea. Only reporting what's posted on GoZips. Note: I take what's posted on GoZips with a grain of salt. Often I see player disappear and reappear on it months later. No idea how "official" these rosters are. I'm willing to bet a lot of the FR will show up on the roster in the future, but as of RIGHT NOW are not on the "official" GoZips roster. I prematurely added the freshman class in Springball, thinking they'd be on the roster by training camp...who knows. Enjoy. Classes are a little more...balanced...than in previous years 21-21-26-25. Hey, it was a playful jest. Don't take it too personally. Just like how on another thread I posted the wrong word because I shifted two vowels, which lead to a paint picture of people praising poop. It's all in good fun, it's an Internet forum afterall... With all the financial problems the U has had over the years it's totally believable they would only have $5 left (hence being playful...). And yes, thank-you for sharing it's good to know they have corrected the financial problems.
