Just downloaded the PAC 12 app on IPad. The game is listed. It doesn’t appear to cost anything.

Getting pumped about the trip down to Wake Forest tomorrow. Supposed to be sunny and mid 50’s. Should be some great soccer. Got my $5 over 55 tix in hand. Go Zips! Hopefully I’m not the only Zip fan there!

If you have a smart tv, there should be a Watch ESPN app. As long as you have a cable plan that includes ESPN you can use your cable acct info to watch all ESPN 3 games on that app. Or download the app to a tablet, or just search ESPN 3 on the computer and watch there.

Can someone help me understand how a D1 athlete with a demanding practice and game schedule is able to get their bachelors in 3 yrs. Especially when the 4 yr grad rate at Akron is 15.6% and the 6 yr grad rate is 46.2%. I'm going to call BS on these degrees unless someone tells me Akron gets not only great athletes but great thinkers also. I'm sure this is not a Akron specific phenomenon.

Let me reword this.....I will go to many bb games without a band, but I will only go see VCU play 3-8 St Louis because even though it will suck, it will still be entertaining. Ok, done beating a dead horse!

Actually the orginal post about VCU was in response to what can bring people to the JAR. I think that the band is vital in creating some excitement and creating a cool vibe in the arena. A cool vibe will bring in the students. For example, me and my daughter are going to the VCU/St. Louis game coming up. We care little about the game...we're going to see what antic the band does and be a part of the excitement. That can happen whether you're in the MAC, the A-10, or at the local high school.

I believe they left the CAA in 2013/14. That conference is by no means better then the MAC. You are right that the run made a huge difference at the school. It is cool now to go to VCU. Prior to that, VCU was identical to where Akron is now. Commuter school, where you went when Tech or UVA didn't take you. Point is...it can happen! I still like watching the Zips play more than VCU though. Hate that havoc style.

It is listed in the watch espn app schedule. I believe that espn 3 is just the online version of what's on the app. But I could be wrong.

Pick up a Roku box at Walmart for around $59, one time purchase. Hook it up to your TV and Internet. As well as hundreds of other things...it has a Watch ESPN channel. Every ESPN channel game is on it. Just like watching it on cable.

I was thinking about this exposure comment. Since I can only watch most games streaming on the computer (live in VA) it's a thrill to actually watch one on TV. What I have noticed is that if I can watch them on TV they are most likely going to lose. If I just counted right, since 2012/13, the Zips are 11-14 on national TV (ESPN, espn2, espnU, FS1' CBSS, broadcast). Probably not the best exposure for the Zips. Maybe this is why I always laugh a little at the making a run, changing to a better conference, afraid to play us comments on here.

First of all...I like watching soccer. But 4 hrs of no goals last night was a bit tedious. The one bright spot in the night was the AKRowdies. They were fun to hear, and they kept it up all night. Only Akron was represented in the fan base last night. Thanks AKRowdies for making the trip and representing the Zips!

The Villanova entire arena is sold out on a season ticket basis. Tickets are only thru the secondary market. Stub Hub had some last week. $35-40 really high up. $100-150 down low. I decided to stay home and watch it in comfort. It's about a 5 hr drive for me.

Don't know about the other Tech colleges, but Va Tech walked away from the polytechnic label. Growing up in VA...it was always known as VPI. The point is, if others are dropping the label, why would UA adopt it. My other point...if you have to explain what it means, it's probably not a good choice. I'm sure very few college bound students could explain it.
