  1. Getting on the floor while up 10 with 12 seconds left. You have to love the effort from Groce teams.
  2. Ball State comes to the JAR Tuesday night to face the Zips. The Cardinals stand at 4-11 headed into Saturday’s game at UMASS. The Cardinals have the lowest scoring offense in the MAC, scoring 67.2 ppg. However, they give up the lowest point on average at 69.2 ppg. Safe to say, they slow things down. 6’2” sophomore guard Davion Hill leads scoring at 10.9 ppg. 6’4” junior guard Armoni Ziegler scored 10.2 ppg while contributing 4.8 rpg.
  3. This team's propensity to let teams back into games frustrates me.
  4. Nice 6 point run to end the half.
  5. Zips starting to get sloppy.
  6. Link if you don't get CBSSN- https://thetvapp.to/tv/cbs-sports-network-live-stream/
  7. Professional cornhole and hobby horse competitions.
  8. BG right now has the best defense in the MAC per Groce. If their defense results in a low Zips 3 point percentage, the Zips continue to turn the ball over and the perimeter defense drops off again, it could be a long night in Stroh Center.
  9. Thanks for getting this thread up. It has been a crazy morning.
  10. Russell Beichly from the 40s and 50s.
  11. 19 turnovers, 6 each by two of your senior leaders. Need to get that fixed fast.
  12. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.
  13. I thought Roberto Duran was "hands of stone" until tonight.
  14. I like the new CMU coach and the way he interacts with his players. He's "roster disadvantaged" but is doing a nice job.
  15. Miami had a man closely on Bowen even when the ball was on the other side of the court. To his credit, he is contributing in ways other than being a shooter this year. He's just streaky. My opinion is that his accuracy is directly related to his form. When he has time, squares up and is steady, it goes in. When he rushes and is drifting to one side or the other his shooting suffers. As for Evan, he's not in the lineup for his shooting. You can see now that the opponents know it and are almost daring him to shoot when he's on the perimeter. I think Pete Suder could tell you why Evan is in the lineup.
  16. Zips legend Jim Dennsion has passed. https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/college/zips/2026/01/05/jim-dennison-died-obit-akron-zips-football-coach-walsh/77733069007/ https://medina-gazette.com/news/453612/college-football-wadsworth-native-jim-dennison-dies-at-87/ https://gozips.com/news/2026/1/5/general-akron-athletics-mourns-loss-of-hall-of-fame-football-coach-and-athletics-director-jim-dennison https://www.beaconjournal.com/obituaries/pwoo1374962
  17. If you feel daring, you can get CMU at +2200 on the moneyline.
  18. This is a well-timed "get well" game. Get the offense tuned up, get Sharron back on the beam and his confidence back up and start the team off on the right foot for the rest of the season.
  19. I heard today that there are currently more players in the portal than there are players in the NFL.
  20. Eastern gave up 53 second half points to OU, which had scored 15 first half points, to give the Bobcats a last second win. Their forum was a fun read. PCCC tried to give the game away against NIU but held on.
  21. They were on the floor together a lot today, especially in crunch time.
  22. The 4-11 Central Michigan Chippewas come to Akron Tuesday night to face the Zips. They are coming off of a three point lost to Toledo. The Chipps wins have come against Adrian, Coppin State, Olivet and Appalachian State. 7-foot senior center and Ferris State transfer Nathan Claerbaut leads the team in scoring and rebounding at 12.8 ppg and 6.5 rpg. They average 72 ppg while shooting .453 from the field and .281 from three point range.
  23. Shammah's 3-pointer that didn't fall was really good look too. They made the plays down the stretch. The Zips didn't. On to CMU.
