  1. The Zips head to Mount Pleasant Tuesday to face the Chippewas. The Chipps are 9-19 heading into Buffalo today but are 8-4 at home. CMU's offense is pretty balanced with 4 players averaging between 10 and 12 points. The Zips beat them at the JAR 82-69 on January 6th.
  2. Story from Akron Beacon Journal: https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/college/zips/2026/02/28/akron-zips-basketball-kent-state-wagon-wheel-rivalry-game-mac/88885737007/
  3. He may be the Flushes career leader in losses to the Zips!
  4. I have to suspect Tavari has the Zips record for wins over PCCC, especially for games in which he played.
  5. Amani's offense was rough tonight but he and Evan did a number on Gillespie.
  6. Yep, finally stepped on a neck (and there's no better neck to step on).
  7. Dear Mr. Pinky - the Zips are still the Dodgers.
  8. Lots of people in pee yellow shirts leaving.
  9. Bowen's not getting off any shots but he's drawing a defender all over the floor who can't leave him.
  10. Hoping for Amani to show up in the second half. Cardio King Whaley is back in.
  11. I've had about enough of the "f Kent State" cheer from the Zips students.
  12. The microphone screamer at MAAC Center looks like he's 40 years old. Acts like he's 7. I believe he's a freshman.
  13. I would hope it would also set up universal TWO way enforceable contracts when a kid decides to depart.
  14. Looking forward to seeing the far 3/4's of the floor tonight. I hate that damn barn.
  15. I'm hoping you are right. I have a feeling that Evan is key tonight.
  16. $281 million estimated.
  17. Great to see he's still the same humble goofy kid he was as a Zip.
  18. Need to limit the turnovers. After Tuesday night the Zips are likely to see a lot of defensive pressure. Limit the turnovers and stay close on the rebounds and the Zips should win.
  19. Me wearing my grab bag Bowden Football Camp t-shirt as I mowed was not a good look for the program.
  20. I just have to hope that the best head coach in the MAC and his staff fix the problems.
  21. The Zips head to Portage County Friday night to face the 21-7 Flushes. The Flushes are coming off of a last second 83-81 win over CMU. Delrecco Gillespie continues to lead PCCC. He is third in the MAC in scoring at 18.8 ppg and leads the league in rebounding at 8.6 rpg. The Zips handled PCCC earlier in the season in the JAR, handing them a 69-52 loss on a night PCCC went 1 for 23 on three pointers.
  22. I also liked his comment that in the last 5 minutes they were "an embarrassment to Naismith." LOL. I was happy when Buffalo went to the press as I thought it was a nice opportunity for the Zips to get some work in against pressure. Now I am worried it exposed a flaw other teams will exploit.
