  1. I think I just saw Joe Akron.
  2. 19-18. 7:20. Both teams struggling on offense.
  3. Marv still hustling. No Barre yet. Cody Head still not suited up.
  4. 15-7 Zips, 12 minutes left in half. Zips went zone in an inbounds, then transitioned into man once the ball was in. Nice new wrinkle.
  5. Game went from 5-0 JMU to 9-5 Zips.
  6. Starters- Amani, Tavari, Evan, Eric and Shammon.
  7. JMU squad currently carb loading at the Howe Avenue Olive Garden. They're following the Michael Scott plan.
  8. I'm holding out for Marquelle McIntyre night.
  9. I think we'll see the same starting 5 that we saw against YSU- Tavari, Evan, Eric, Sharron and Amari. Shammah Scott has certainly worthy of a starting role but he's just so darn good as the 6th man and he'll still play most of the game. He was the Zips best player in the YSU game. The Zips also seem committed to MMK and this may well take minutes that might have otherwise in part gone to Brisco. I suspect we'll see more of Barre tonight than we saw at YSU. Barre was appealing to the Zips because he can get up and down the floor and as such can play in their up tempo system. Maybe tonight we also get to see Cody Head.
  10. Tuesday night always brings out the best in college football players!
  11. Ohio.com article on Tavari- https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/college/zips/2025/10/31/tavari-johnson-returns-akron-zips-mens-basketball-ncaa-transfer-portal/86983272007/
  12. JMU Preview here- https://jmusportsnews.com/2025/10/30/jmu-mens-womens-basketball-season-preview-guide/
  13. Amen. I hate to give anyone from PCCC credit, but that guy has earned the full time job by winning with a flaming bag of poo that was left on his porch.
  14. ...or Taylor Currie.
  15. The rest of this season is all about giving you opportunities to high five your wife!
  16. Nice article on Izzy Callaway- https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/college/zips/2025/10/30/izzy-callaway-akron-zips-womens-basketball-mac-copley-high-school/86972184007/
  17. YSU is a solid team. They played hard, handled the Zips pressure well and made timely shots. They will win a lot of games. The Zips could never sustain a run. They allowed too many open 3s and turned the ball over at inopportune times. Oggie looks like he fits in but his defense needs work. Shammah was the best Zip on the floor. His ability to create space they hit a jumper was on full display. Young continued to show his tenacity on defense. On one switch to a big man he actually muscled him out of the post. The Zips failures last night were clearly not effort related. They played hard and fast but just a little sloppy. They'll be fine.
  18. It's puzzling. Could be any number of reasons.
  19. 6 turnovers for Tavari. Ugh. All of the stats are on the YSU site.
  20. They played awful in the second half but they'll be fine. The Mahaffeys will be difference makers.
  21. 17 turnovers to 14 assists for the Zips
  22. Rotations look like the real thing. Groce isn't visibly pissed so I really think he believes this might be good for them.
