  1. Clean screen by Amani. Ref blew whistle based upon result.
  2. Game getting sloppy.
  3. Interesting 5 to start the half with Lyles and MMK in. I missed the start. Were they in the starting lineup? Withstand the run Zips.
  4. Pierce ailing is obviously helping the Zips.
  5. Heck of a half for the Zips. Princeton will make a run yet but that 11 point cushion is sure nice.
  6. Hardman couldn't cover my mom.
  7. Much better start. Ball moving better, defense tighter.
  8. Florida State and Leonard Hamilton getting sued by 6 former players for not coming through on NIL money- https://sports.yahoo.com/6-former-florida-state-players-file-lawsuit-against-coach-leonard-hamilton-over-nil-compensation-133553612.html
  9. Baker is averaging 5.9 points and 4.3 rebounds a game for Southern Illinois- Edwardsville. In the one practice I saw last year I thought he had some potential. He must be hurt now as he hasn't been playing.
  10. Still had Sullinger, Hornbeak and Davis.
  11. Okonkwo's rebounding stats are a little skewed due to big games against lesser opponents SUNY Brockport, Alabama State and Jackson State. He did have a nice game against Arkansas State, but I want to see more rebounding against more substantial opponents and see it consistently.
  12. The one "little guy" that helps on the boards is Isaiah Gray. At 6'3" he's second on the team in rebounds.
  13. Great get. I wish he'd have decided to come home. His college career has certainly gone in an odd direction. One of the top freshmen in the country at Arizona State to contributor at OSU to a backup at Kentucky and now to Toledo.
  14. Merry Christmas to ZipsNation.
  15. Doug Gottleib introduced us to Nobody U who proceeded to beat his UWGB squad.
  16. I do consider 6'7" to be "big" in the MAC. One can be a little smaller and be a good rebounder out of technique and tenacity. Anybody remember Jerome Lane from SVSM. He went to Pitt as a graceful wing type player and turned himself into a muscular rebounding monster that led the nation in rebounding.
  17. Here's a little known basketball secret- taller players generally rebound better than shorter players.
  18. Yep, certainly an uphill battle. It would appear that a schedule many questioned as adequate has been more than enough. Here's hoping it prepared them well for the MAC season.
  19. Maybe we can get his brother Specific Booty.
  20. I don't think they've updated Tavari's weight and height since he was a freshman. He is a good 6 feet tall and has put on a little weight through the chest and shoulders. Young is a fine freshman. I just hope they can hold onto him.
  21. I don't recall. I'm just hoping he gets better in the next couple of weeks and comes back as the guy we thought he was. He's a great kid. He's taken full advantage of his scholarships by working hard academically and is very personable.
  22. I'd really like to know whether Jojo Harris was playing injured before they sat him down for the last few games. If he's the guy I though could be, a 12 ppg/5 or 6 rpg guy, I think he makes a real difference if and when he comes back healthy. If he was healthy when playing before being out, I'm not sure he's that guy. I like Bowen Hardman when he's hitting shots. When he's not, he doesn't bring much as he's not a good defender nor is he a facilitator or a rebounder. He's a backup and offense off of the bench, not a starter at this point. It's not for a lack of effort.
  23. The 7-4 Zips next head to Princeton on December 30th to face the 9- 4 Tigers in the last game of the OOC season. The Tigers also will not play until the 30th and are coming off of a two-point win at Rutgers. Tigers’ scoring Is led by 6’4 junior guard Lee Xavian at 16.1 ppg. 6’7” junior forward Caden Pierce is second on the team in scoring at 12.1 ppg while leading rebounding at 7.2 rpg. These two are considered by some to be the two best players in the Ivy League. The Tigers were picked to finish first in the Ivy League preseason poll, ahead of Yale.
  24. I think Tavari got some bench time tonight due to the turnovers.
  25. Jackson State looks like the coaches didn't come out after half. Kids taking awful shots, not passing the ball, not calling TOs... Here's hoping it has something to do with the Zips play.
