  1. Not that the facts matter, but here's a quote from the ABJ article- "According to the police report, Treadwell assaulted King during an altercation at her home on Spicer Street about 4 a.m. Saturday. The assault left King, 23, with “apparent minor” injuries. Police took photographs of the injuries..." I think we both agree Gueye should be gone. Let's just leave it that.
  2. Jeopardy does not entirely depend on the swearing of witnesses but can attach on a plea. In depends on the terms of the plea and the elements of the offenses at issue. Plenty real here. Female victims of domestic and related violence always report it to the authorities. That's why the system works so well.
  3. This one worries me with the poor play of the Zips bigs. Could make for a long night. I am concerned they'll get killed down low on defense and will opt for hoisting threes on offense (which hasn't gone well).
  4. Time it right and you can paint and drink wine too.
  5. The 8-8 Eagles come into the JAR Tuesday night fresh off of a 34 point thrashing of Mr. Pinky's Travelling All-Stars. The Eagles are 2-1 in the MAC having beaten PCCC and Ball State while losing to Buffalo. They are led by Elijah Minnie's 14 ppg and 17 year MAC vet James Thompson's 10.3 rpg. They play quite a bit of 2-3 zone with 6-10 Thompson, 6-11 Toure and 6-9 Minnie all in the mix. The Zips enter the game at 1-2 in the MAC fresh off...............................................................awwwwwwwww screw it. Go Zips.
  6. There have been many ups and downs the last two years and I have tried to keep an optimistic and hopeful through them all, but today is my low in the last two years. Up 9 at half to losing by 17 fresh on the heels of a putrid performance at Central, coupled with the Gueye incident, and my faith in the program is at a recent low. Listening to that game and hearing about the body language of the team when things went south in the second half, I am damn fed up. I joked about them taking the bus to DeKalb after the CMU loss instead of flying. They can walk home from DeKalb.
  7. As opposed to teammates. Sorry, couldn't help myself.
  8. A blurb from an article on Gueye on his leaving SC- "Gueye, a Senegal native, was used sparingly over his two-year career. He appeared in 45 games, recording a total of 11 points and 38 rebounds. After logging 13 minutes at Tennessee on Feb. 13, Gueye didn’t play again in 2017-18." I am not going to lose sleep over his loss.
  9. Less as far as the injury caused I guess, but violence against someone off of the court, a female at that, is not "way less."
  10. Hopefully, they can put him on a Greyhound to South Carolina and never utter his name again. No pun intended, but that's too big of a black eye on the program to keep him around.
  11. I'm not so concerned about the loss of a transfer or two. That's the nature of the business and frankly, very obviously, the nature of the kids that transfer. I am much more concerned that the altercation got to that point. Those types of attacks don't usually go directly from zero to full blown assaults. There's usually a pretty obvious sign something is coming. This is on the level of a felonious assault, though it is charged as a misdemeanor. I assume there's some student disciplinary process in the works in addition to the team suspension.
  12. Good luck Torrey. The kid always played hard.
  13. Get's worse by the minute....
  14. From our ever observant NWAkron on the 18th.
  15. Well, ummmmm, I guess that's why K-lac looked like he had been beaten as noticed by NWAkron a couple of weeks ago. In short, good riddance. No room for that.
  16. I want a new arena, but paid for with NWAkron, Kreed and Let'sGo's money.
  17. #10 in facilities seems very accurate. Makes me feel really bad for Miami (can't feel bad ever for PCCC).
  18. They take the damn bus until they play defense for 2 full halves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. Get off my lawn.
  19. I want to take this opportunity to castigate all of ZipsNation for failing to heartily congratulate Mr. Pinky on becoming PCCC's all-time leader in coaching wins. Being the PCCC leader in all time wins is like being Crash Davis in Bull Durham, the all-time leader in minor league home runs. It means you were never good enough to move up.
  20. From what I understand, Danny's not the problem and is a decent kid. Danny's biggest problem is a dad living through his kids that created unreasonable expectations and that he's just not on the level of a P5 talent. He was a great high school freshman and sophomore and between the expectations for his growth as a player and the hype created by his dad (e.g. the nickname "The Prototype") schools moved too early on him. He might do well at a MAC school.
  21. I listened to Groce on Zips Live tonight until I got a call. He said Sayles is playing the best basketball since he got to UA. He also said he would like a 9 man rotation but presently have 7, but that the 8 and 9 spots have to be earned. His happy with the offense but was not happy with the defense of second half Tuesday night.
  22. As I recall, Sayles was hurt in a home game against BG, which would have been January 13th. I'd hope he's back to 100% by now. I think his primary issue is mental in that he loses track of what's going on during the games and disappears sometimes, doing things losing his man, not boxing out, not looking for the ball... He's very good in transition when he's on the move. He's still young so I hope he comes around.
  23. NIU has beaten Rockford, Illinois Tech, Oral Roberts, Oakland, UC Davis, Western Illinois, Chicago State, Ohio and Miami and lost to James Madison, Green Bay, Butler. Northern Kentucky and Michigan State. They beat Chicago State by 41 while the Zips beat them by 39. The Zips beat the Huskies at the JAR last year 82-67 and have won 3 in a row against the Huskies.
  24. So, ummmmmmmm, looks like we just pretty much got the UTC staff.
  25. I have to take the coaching staff's view on the proper rotation of the big men as they see them in practice for hours on end as opposed to our limited views. From my spot in the cheap seats, Riak, Sayles and E-man are all superior to K-lac, and there just aren't that many spots in the rotation for big men. He's appears to be a great kid and his failures are not for a lack of effort, but he's so problematic at times on offense and defense that even my wife would cringe at times last year. I can't recall how many times last year I saw him shut down with the ball near the basket, make some weak shot fake and then turn the ball over, after which I hear a huge sigh and "why is he in the game?' from my better half. Even she could see it.
