  1. I hope that age and counseling brings him insight and wisdom as I think he could really be a player. All we can do is watch and hope.
  2. At his pinkest-
  3. Western went from being voted first in the MAC west preseason poll to finishing 4th in the west, 9-9 in the conference and 17-14 overall. Hopefully, their disappointing season ends Monday night. Their bigs don't seem to put up great numbers, so the Zips won't be at a huge disadvantage there. Slow down Wilder and play hard.
  4. Yes, along with his ability to get pinker and pinker as the game wears on, especially when he gets stressed.
  5. Sure was a season of unfamiliar emotions.
  6. We can neither confirm nor deny this rumor.
  7. I think I see one weak mind on Kent's team susceptible to that!
  8. That also goes to the nature of the athletes you recruit, which comes back on Senderoff and those before him. I'll concede that altar boys generally don't make great basketball players, but you can still recruit good kids your school can be proud of. The Zips have had some "bad citizens" (drug dealers; woman abusers, etc.), but the players and staff have generally remained above instigating on court issues. Cotton has a little but of an "attitude" as demonstrated by his clash with Ivey, his one game suspension and his involvement last night. Hopefully, as someone suggested, the staff can sit him down and prevent issues in the future that could cost the Zips points and him playing time. We all have the propensity to see our team's players as "fiery" and "intense" while similar players on other teams are a "problem" and I don't want us to be blind to bad behavior from "our" players.
  9. It's the new warm and fuzzy Skip!
  10. The other Kent kids seemed pretty well behaved. 2 of them were having a nice conversation after the game with Groce. I guess if I was 7 feet tall and 260 and couldn't be successful against the team with the fewest bigs in the MAC and couldn't take advantage of guards on switches, I'd get a little testy too.
  11. Yes. LOL. FIxed.
  12. Some quick observations: 1) The refs and the Kent staff should be embarrassed by what went down with DeLaRosa. He should have been T'd up AND removed from the bench. He was trying to stir up things from the bench and then went off in the line at the end. No room for that conduct. Funny how he stirs things up with guys like Cotton and Parrish. 2) Atrocious foul shooting from the Zips. 3) Nice leadership from the Zips vets. 4) Nice job with the Canadian National Anthem for Duvivier. 5) I've coached 5th graders with ADHD that had more on court awareness than K-lac. I like the kid, but.....ugh. 6) Mr. Pinky does less with more than any coach in the MAC. 7) Kudos to all of the kids on the floor except DeLaRosa for not getting caught up the emotion. 8) GREAT WIN TO END THE SEASON!
  13. How does K-lac get a T and not Delarosa?
  14. Adonis has taken over for Jimmy Hall on the irritating Flushes scale.
  15. Poor showing by the expensive seats tonight. Too many empties for a rivalry game.
  16. K-lac would head fake on a breakaway.
  17. Somebody needs to buy Mr. Pinky a tie.
  18. Aggravating to see a visiting team with a better student section than any students section the Zips have had all year.
  19. Adonis should be required to give up his name with that body type.
  20. Ivey with 2 and K-lac with 2 mind numbingly bad fouls already.
  21. Good crowd, but not for PCCC game.
  22. Nice early crowd. Good luck to both teams. Ahhhhh, screw that. Go Zips, thump the flushes!
  23. Eastern has decided to send an Uber for NW in honor of it's first out of town fan.
  24. To me, to quote the renowned philosopher Dennis Green, "they are who we thought they were." All in all, there were a couple who did not develop as I'd hoped, but no one who made huge strides or surprised me.
  25. I'm feeling a big game from an unexpected source tonight, maybe Virshon or Parrish. I'm also curious to see the crowd. Will the rivalry get people out or will the teams' "down" years impact the interest?
