  1. Who'd have ever imagined you'd utter those words two days before LOI day? Oh how times have changed!
  2. I'd really like to hear that Groce doesn't have time for an interview because he's in BFI recruiting some stud other schools missed.
  3. Noah was never the same after the injury. In a season of transition, his senior leadership and calming influence could have helped, but in many games last year he seemed reduced to the role of the guy who brought the ball up the floor, posing little or no offensive threat. I wish him luck as he seems like a great kid from every interview I've heard in the last three years.
  4. So, if all plays out, the Zips will lose 4 of 5 starters (Kwan, Dog, Antino and Noah) and the 6th man (Josh). Wow. I think the point Blue & Gold makes is a solid one- Noah's departure would open things up for Antino if he wants to return (fingers crossed).
  5. I'm thinking Dustin's not bringing his brother as he's busy avoiding certified mail at Stony Brook and hoping to avoid Ohio process servers.
  6. That makes sense. My concern when I see stuff like that is that people reading it will base their opinion on innuendo rather than fact, but I get where you're coming from here.
  7. Hughes averaged 7.3 minutes per game in OOC play (before he was hurt) and 2.2 in conference play (after he returned). Whether that was the result of him falling out of the rotation or the coaching staff not thinking his play was worthy of more minutes or thought he was still hurt, only the coaching staff knows. I thought he showed some real promise early, before his injury.
  8. I'd like the senior leadership of Noah or Antino. However, my little voice tells me that Antino's never at his best when he's on the floor with Noah. Antino's most successful at the point with the ball in his hands, attacking. We didn't see that this year. Hopefully, if both stay, Groce can find the answer.
  9. OK, removing Dunn-Martin from the mix, you can only keep two of what's left. Who do you choose?
  10. I'm appalled that kangaroos were used to feed the attendees at the press conference.
  11. I think there are some very incorrect assumptions being made on here as to the desires of some of the posters. Just because a poster values the success of the KD era, or realizes that the success of a coach may result in him moving on, does NOT mean they have any lesser passion or desire to see the Zips win or go deep into an NCAA tournament.
  12. Those folks will be happy to take that position until they start seeing .500 seasons, then the tune will change...
  13. Live and learn MD. Live and learn.
  14. I was trying to get us to refocus after beating to death Groce throwing the jail doors open to fill the Zips roster! LOL.
  15. Sooooo, ummmmmmmmmm, how about that Boals recruiting record at OSU???
  16. A successful coach at a mid-major who did not move on. I think his "skeleton" held him back. A coach with his record in a similar situation without the skeleton would have been gone long ago.
  17. I don't think it's resignation as much as it is reality. If a guy is successful, he moves on from here. Dambrot was one in a million. I wish it was different, but it's that's the reality of the situation if you want a successful guy. I said it last week and set some people off, but otherwise you end up with Rob Senderoff- a guy who does just well enough to not get canned but just bad enough to not get looks from more prominent programs, mired in relative mediocrity (yes people, I know they beat the Zips).
  18. Note to self- don't hook leash to bumper/ keep dog away from sandwiches.
  19. Some of Bragg's problem's were self induced (like the drug paraphernalia) while others (the alleged battery) were not. I don't have huge concerns.
  20. Other than a guy with a skeleton in the closet or an unusual sense of commitment, isn't that the plight of nearly every coach a school in AKron's position can expect to hire?
  21. GT: "If you could be any animal, what animal would you be?" I thought Antino was vastly underutilized last year. I can't imagine that didn't play into his thought process as the season wore on. I think Groce's system would benefit him, so I hope he comes back.
  22. My bad. Doh. That's Kansas State!
  23. I'll personally drive him here from Manhattan, Kansas.
  24. He certainly had good answers. I also heard him on WAKR and he was similarly prepared. Only time will tell if he's full of $hi+ and prepared with the cliches or he's genuinely the guy we saw. I certainly hope for the latter. Sounds like his wife is not a diva (not quite sure why anyone thought she was), but maybe Antino is.
