  1. I went down and stayed until I started nodding off. I get that the weather changed things up but there was little or no effort to engage the fans or make it special in any regard, Finley looked okay. Roggow did not look good. Broughton could be something special. The specialists looked decent.
  2. I like all of you guys but not enough to share that jackpot!
  3. I sure hope it can handle the enormous crowd.
  4. Wow, I just mentioned him as a guess when someone mentioned Duquesne and now he's here. Think of a more athletic Deng Riak.
  5. Will you be wearing a green shirt so that no one hits you during the tailgate?
  6. Did this not seem like it was more fun as "The Spring Game" rather than the "Akron Zips Spring Open Practice"?
  7. I wish there was a deadline for transfer portal players to choose their landing spot.
  8. Depth gentlemen, depth. I'm trusting JG on this one.
  9. Head was on a A-SUN All-freshman team before transferring to Arkansas State. Nice left-handed shot. Played at a solid program in high school, Lutheran East. I'm a little surprised with a 6'3" guard.
  10. I get the sense she's seeking validation...a coach that will tell her she's great and the focus on the team.
  11. Chabi Barre, a 6'9" forward is in the portal from Duquesne. He's a little unpolished but a strong rebounder and defender.
  12. The following is a really bad article about Tavari's possibilities- https://www.sportskeeda.com/college-basketball/tavari-johnson-transfer-portal-top-5-landing-spots-akron-guard-ft-illinois
  13. Prepare to be asked to respect my decision!
  14. I don't know that I could go on without Tuesday night football.
  15. The two professional sports organizations with the least self-insight-- NCAA and MLB.
  16. Yes, you want the free market benefits of being a professional you should also take on the responsibilities.
  17. I thought a basic rule of the portal was that entering it allowed schools to make contact. I think it is pretty damn obvious that schools are making contact with players before they ever enter. Also, if we're going to allow them to essentially be pros, isn't there an argument to be made that they should also be signing contracts? Tavari leaving opens the door wider for Young, which isn't a bad thing other than it speeds up him going into the portal after next season.
  18. I like Nate, appreciate his contributions and wish him well. That being said, he very much benefited from the lack of dominant MAC players in winning MAC POY. He had some great games for the Zips but when I look at the history of MAC POYs he's one of the least impactful. As I said, I like Nate. He seems like a great kid. I don't begrudge his decision to head to Kansas State for life changing money and I hope to hell he proves me wrong and has a million dollar year as far as accomplishments but I think he's a contributor as opposed to a standout in the Big 12..
  19. Wow. 14 points and 5 rebounds per game in the MAC gets you north of $1M.
  20. I've been in and out the last 2 or 3 days. Have we seen anything official yet on Tavari?
  21. Any criticism of the players comes from the same place in our brains that criticizes our flame when she breaks up with us. She really wasn't that hot.
  22. It has to be the plural wives thing.
  23. Instagram, not X, under @cbb_alerts.
  24. Okay, assuming Tavari is gone. Young for Tavari, Eric Mahaffey for Nate. Such is our world. ...and, above it all- we still have the best head coach in the MAC.
