It is March 30th and we're talking basketball. That's a testament to the quality of Zips basketball. -
Yep, hurt early on. As I recall he had a boot at one point.

The other end of the spectrum from the Zips. All potential returners from Indiana are in the portal. https://www.si.com/college/westvirginia/basketball/all-eligible-returning-players-for-indiana-have-entered-transfer-portal -
So, ummmmmm, does this make PCCC the MAC version of the Boston Red Sox?

Aware. Just using him as an example. -

Big, small or in between, we can count on Groce to figure it out. He's won here with Riak and X in the lineup, with Enrique being the focus and with a fast paced guard driven 3 point focused offense. He doesn't lock into one plan and force his players into it, he gets the talent and character and fits the plan to what he has. -

That's a solid comparison. He doesn't have Gray's outside shot, but I can see him manning up on defense on the opposing team's second big as Gray did. I see him more like a power forward type on this squad, something they've missed. He also looks athletic enough to cover a big wing like Toledo's Lewis. -
If this is true, I suspect the same people who couldn't help cover Kenni's debt ponied up to pay Mr. Pinky.
-
I just got a text from a buddy of mine who is a big PCCC booster who told me Senderoff has turned down the Fordham job. I guess we'll see.
-
They had ten non-seniors, including Sumlin, Medley and Gillespie who are decent contributors and a nice core. Losing Sullinger and Davis certainly hurts. I'm not sure how you could ever recover from the loss of Mike Bekelja. LOL. I have to think Julian Sullinger is on the short list. When I saw Duquesne this year he was very involved.

The PCCC coaching search should be a fun watch. I suspect we'll soon see many of their players in the portal unless they quickly hire one of the assistants. Since Laing Kennedy left a decade and half ago they've had some questionable head coaching hires.
-
I'd be surprised if they'd pay the money for an experienced guy with their budget issues. My bet is that they try to latch on to a young up and comer.

Senderoff sure brought stability to PCCC after a bit of turnover. He was just good enough to hang on but not quite good enough to move on. The Indiana scandal likely held him back some too. I think they should bring back Stan Heath.

And now they'll face it without Kenni! https://footballscoop.com/2025/03/27/kent-state-kenni-burns-administrative-leave

That AD is facing a lot of heat from the PCCC fans. This could all be the beginning of the end for him too.
-
I dislike him a lot less now that he's gone. That's kind of the point- I disliked him primarily because he was the rival's coach. He did other things along the way that irritated me like the Dodgers/Yankees reference and discounting the games when Akron would win. To his credit, he always kept PCCC competitive. Groce spoke highly of him and that tempered my disdain for him. I regret not trademarking "Mr. Pinky". I think now it loses its value!

First, spare me the outrage, I'm not taking Dakich's word for anything. He's a proven tool. It is an enjoyable article. Sendy cheated and got caught.

This is still my favorite Senderoff related article- https://www.si.com/college/indiana/basketball/dan-dakich-peels-back-curtain-on-craziness-during-kelvin-sampson-rob-senderoff-era

So, after tonight's fine performance by PCCC, what brings in more funds? The new collective or the Kenni Burns defense fund?

Every school in the MAC has similar resources to UA as well as wealthy alums. As such, I don't want to hear their whining. Produce a product worthy of an alum's interest and investment and make some effort and maybe they'll buy in. Why would an alum want to invest in season after season of garbage? That knocks out about half of the MAC programs. As for the rest, like PCCC, Ohio U, Toledo and Miami...if you can't figure it out that failure is on you. Spare me the Dodgers analogy and engage in some introspection.
-
Would it be possible to use some of our NIL money to keep him at PCCC? LOL.

That's one hell of a reward for beating Oklahoma State in an NIT game!
