  1. Damn missed field goal and we still have the uncertainty.....
  2. I'm going to make a predictably fruitless request. As we commence our annual tear down of our program and its leadership could we maybe offer some solutions rather than engage in simple p!$$!ng and moaning?
  3. I thought you were paying for a charter for all of us.
  4. One aspect of this that frustrates me is that in the age of the transfer portal, one which enabled quick turnarounds, this team does not look any better than last year's squad.
  5. Unconverted 2 point conversion after every kicker on the travel squad is injured.
  6. Spring practice....preseason practice....returning starter....second year of the new leadership....and we're still uncertain of our starter at the most important position on the field. Sigh. Kentucky- 35, Zips- 6.
  7. How about "the mass pulled out of their @$$"?
  8. Zips are proving there is such a thing as an embarrassing win.
  9. Oh, there are words, just none the software won't auto delete.
  10. They've brought in Kevin Stefanski as a halftime adjustment consultant.
  11. This team has 7 quarterbacks yet apparently not one that can run a D1 FBS offense.
  12. Can I just give you $20 to work with for the rest of the game?
  13. Morgan State entered the FCS Power Rankings as number 25 based upon their upset of Richmond and moved up to number 4 in the HBCU football power rankings. They were also named the FCS National Team of the Week. They limited Richmond to 264 yards of offense, forced four turnovers and had five sacks. As for DJ, I wonder if Moorhead is seeing something different/better in practice or if he just has loyalty to him based upon the fact that he stuck around through the transition and has been a good leader for the program.
  14. Unfortunately, that's all you get after years of awful football. Nobody cares except the staff, players, players' families and about 20 posters on here. As a result, nobody from the press really covers the games, attends press conferences or asks the tough questions.
  15. catdaddyp, keep it up! I need people like you to occasionally talk me off of the Zips football edge!
  16. I am usually not the "downer" guy and I do have faith in Moorhead, but as long as the Zips are losing to bottom 20 teams I don't have much interest in moral victories or "looking on the bright side."
  17. Frustratinggggggg as hell. So much for "FINISH." Given some of what I saw from the team today, including a cornerback jumping offside, I don't so much question the talent level of this team as I do the intellect of some of its key pieces.
  18. The ESPN betting talking head on SportsCenter just featured this matchup and said we should all bet the Zips and the points! Spoke highly of Moorhead and DJ!
  19. You'll get Concord and you will like it!
  20. FanDuel is still at 3.5.
  21. Pluto article on Moorhead and the Zips- https://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/2023/08/why-does-joe-moorhead-want-to-coach-the-akron-zips-can-it-work-terry-pluto.html
  22. I can't be sure, but I strongly suspect it comes from the same advanced line of thinking that has the Zips playing PCCC in football on a Wednesday night. D!p$h!+$.
  23. I think it went out to season ticketholders. There was a reception Friday night at Infocision with basketball alumni and the breakfast/practice/Puerto Rico send-off Saturday morning. Unfortunately, I could not make the reception. I received an email about it and registered the second week of July.
  24. If I had to guess at a starting five right now, I think it's: Scott, Tribble, Dawson, Ali and Enrique.
  25. Some more observations now looking back. There are three solid point guards in Scott, Thornton and Tavari. Baker is going to provide solid minutes as a big and Amani looks much bigger (as mentioned above). Assuming the shooting I saw from Enrique was not a fluke, we may see two bigs on the floor more often. The kids are having fun and paying attention. Even the new kids, especially Scott and Thornton are up to speed already and giving direction to others. The team communicates well and seems to enjoy each other. Lots of smiles. No obvious bad attitudes. Enrique is becoming more and more of a leader. In one instance Groce was making a relatively complex point and Enrique in a very low voice put it in very simple terms for a couple of nearby teammates. This team will be the deepest Zips team in some time. Other than Enrique there are no distinct stars, but there's the type of talent for a couple of other guys to step up and star on a given night.
