Not a great start for the Zips.

You'll be put on double secret probation buster!

This will be your one and only warning (per today's email)! Thank you for your ongoing support of Akron Athletics and our Zips student-athletes. Below are some friendly reminders regarding parking at athletics events. The University of Akron and Akron Athletics have been working with UAkron Park, a third-party vendor, as they have taken over all parking for the University and special events. Throughout the fall semester, UAkron Park has been issuing warnings to fans that parked in non-event spaces. Be advised, UAkron Park is issuing tickets to fans that do not park in designated lots. Please be sure to park in your designated lot and have your parking pass visible. Do not park in lots with signage indicating "no event parking." Fans that do not have parking passes should park in Lot 1 and pay the designated fees. That's one hell of a thank you.

The Gardner-Webb teams are known as the "Runnin' Bulldogs." That's quite an image. I've never seen a bulldog run. My son went to a university and lived in a dorm where the team mascot, a bulldog. In getting hyped up for the big game against their rival, they trained the bulldog to attack and tear up a box with the rival's emblem on it. In front of the student body they unleashed the bulldog to tear up the box, he frantically approached the box and....started humping it. I guess "Runnin' Bulldogs" is better than "Humpin' Bulldogs."

Won't the other schools have the same potential to climb due to portal additions? -
Doing on a weekday does little to promote interest and attendance.

Iowa's worst QB is likely better than anyone in our QB room the last two years. I'd love for them to bring home Ethan Wright. Good kid from a good local family. He got the runaround at Cinci from different staffs, including a position switch, then a move back. He had a good bowl game last year then got moved down the depth chart again.

A 54 point half for BG in the comeback.

I went. A free D1 basketball game in the gym of my alma mater fifteen minutes from home. I'd have gone whether or not KD was involved. It was a great game. Duquesne came up with a steal and went down the floor to score a fast break basket with .2 left on the clock to win. KD has some players but they still seem to be lacking some cohesion. They play hard on defense. You get the sense from watching the bench interactions that KD's prepping to turn it over to Dru soon. Bradley may never return to NEO.

The little 5'8" guard from M-H, Ryan Marchal, was a scrappy player. Very much enjoyed watching him.
-
Played hard, especially on defense. Shot looked a little flat but decent. I don't think we're going to see much of him from here on out as he's clearly the the 11th man on a team that has pretty much gone to an 8-man rotation.

The 5-7 Gardner Webb Bulldogs come to the JAR Thursday to face the Zips. Caleb Robinson, a 6'4" senior guard, leads the Bulldogs in both scoring (14.3 ppg) and rebounding (6.4). 5'11" junior guard Julian Saolmauro is their second leading scorer at 13.9 ppg. The Bulldogs compete in the Big South Conference where they were predicted to finish 4th in the preseason poll, behind UNC Asheville, Radford and Winthrop. Guard DQ Nicholas, a 6'1" senior guard was named to the Big South Preseason first team and is averaging 10.6 ppg. The Bulldogs five wins have come over Erskine, Weber State, Limestone (there's one for Captain's list), Western Carolina and North Greenville.

Prather in with 6 minutes left.

No Prather. 3 minutes of Lyles.

Nice to see Tavari out there. Groce seems to be taking time with him too as they come off of the floor.

These Miami Hamilton kids are disciplined and well coached. They're not losing due to a lack of effort.
-
An hour and a half to the game. I should probably leave now so that I can be sure to get a seat.
-
Browns game....44 degrees at tipoff....steady rain....students on break....$10 to park....Miami Hamilton.... The Clark bookmaker has set the under/over on actual butts in the seats, exclusive of the team and staff, at 167.

Less than 24 hours to this huge matchup! Excitement is building (for Evan Wilson and Zach Halligan).
