  1. The media guide with all of the records used to be easily accessible but i can't find it any more.
  2. Interesting page of Zips record holders- https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/akron/men/leaders-and-records-career.html
  3. Romeo pleads guilty, owes $375K in restitution and faces faces between 15 and 21 months in prison when he’s sentenced. https://www.cleveland.com/court-justice/2023/03/ex-akron-basketball-star-romeo-travis-pleads-guilty-to-federal-fraud-charges-owes-nearly-375000-in-restitution.html
  4. I can't believe Mark Kostelac has been left out of the discussion. He got some serious love on ZipsNation back in the day.
  5. My concern with that would be him potentially having to cover a 3 on the other end of the floor. He doesn't seem to have much lateral quickness.
  6. Davis played 144 games to Maravich's 83. I do find it amusing that both had their daddy as their coach.
  7. Agreed. The other aspect to this in bringing in a big is that if he's going to start he'll need to be an "unconventional" big as I can't see the Zips jamming up the inside with 2 guys without range. Somebody like Xeyrius who could play the 4 and has range who could also slide over when Enrique goes to the bench would be ideal. It was my hope that Hunter was this guy but... The other option would be a traditional big who would primarily come off of the bench.
  8. I frequently disagree with myself, so no problem! I think 14-19 was the primary basis of their rejection. I haven't looked but I doubt any other team with a 42% win percentage was invited. Even if not, I actually appreciate the fact that they didn't allow their tournament to be used to facilitate that farce.
  9. There's only one thing that would look worse than inviting Detroit Mercy to play in some crappy post-season tournament to allow Davis to fraudulently break Maravich's record. It's him whining like a little bitch that they didn't give him and his lousy sub . 500 team a chance. https://sports.yahoo.com/antoine-davis-ends-chase-maravichs-211745938.html
  10. I know that Groce's plan early on was to get a passable team onto the floor in part by using jucos then transition to freshmen and the occasional transfer. I would not be averse to bringing in the right juco if it filled a need. I'd love to find a 6'4" combo guard.
  11. There used to be an easily accessible media guide on the Zips website but I can't find it. It had all kids of good info. Now you have to click around that damn Kevon Hart concert ad to get to anything.
  12. Good luck to Garvin. I don't think any of his shortcomings were a result of a lack of effort. I think he could have been a solid backup point guard for the Zips which holds some value but I am not losing any sleep over his loss. On a positive note, it may increase the chances of Tavari's return.
  13. More will come to me, but just off the top of my head I would add McLaughlin, Derrick Tarver, Marcel Boyce and Jeremiah Wood.
  14. To his credit, he appears to have kept his head in the game and tried to contribute in other ways. He had to have a target on his back after the lead up to Dayton.
  15. Not a great championship game for Nichols- two points, five assists, four steals and three rebounds.
  16. Groce was at the Hoban- St. Ed's game in Brimfield a couple weeks ago, most likely to see Nichols.
  17. I hope his account was hacked. That's PCCC athletics level literacy.
  18. I can work you a real deal on some Matthew Wilsons for your collection!
  19. Agreed. This was not a curious kid. This was a kid that overvalued his position and was generally a PITA.
  20. It has been a busy week! LOL. I'm a little out of the loop.
  21. Where do you see Kobe Mitchell fitting in? I'd love to see the reincarnation of Xeyrius and a 6'4" guard with some offense fill those last two spots.
  22. Should Toledo's AD expect a letter?
  23. Will we have to respect their decisions when that happens?
