anybody know how AA is doing? ...ready for the opener? he is the key to the offense...

here is hoping that unless somebody offers more than the pissants did for edwards that the browns keep him...nothing against hixon but if someone can screw edward's head on straight he has a lot of upside that hixon doesn't..dominic is a good system player...just not the browns system...i'm hoping that since the winslow fungus is gone,edwards will either latch on to a better 'mentor' or play his ass off for a new contract...

so...what about the defense!?...is the JC coming in going to play the corner? who are the safeties going to be?...is Fleming's kid going to play?...the D will determine how far this team goes...anybody got anything?

That's another thing. KD isn't half as colorful as Tony. I remember an Akron City cop telling me about the time he pulled Tony over driving on High Street late one night (or early one morning). The cop took a look at Tony's companion and asked Tony if he knew the name of the person sitting next to him. Tony replied, "Sure, that's Linda." The cop recognized the individual from previous brushes with the law and said, "No, Tony that's Frank." :blink: i went to the games at memorial hall from around '68 on...when Wyatt Webb was there and the Zips were a real force in the 'college' division memorable hall was PACKED...when they played Kentucky Weslayan,Philadelphia Textile,Gannon,Evansville etc etc...that was a pit...no team wanted to play there...

i don't normally get on the b.ball site...but...the ZIPS showed a lot last night....if i am KD i am on the phone to gonzaga and trying to set up a contract for regular season games...i'd go for a 2-1-2...go to skeedaddle next year...as long as they agree to come here the following year...then go back to skeeedaddle the third year...the way the ZIPS played these guys they could start a rivalry that would put butts in the seats..the ZIPS should only improve the next 3 years...the confidence this program should get should carry over for a while...

all i'd say is that its some instant credibility for the program...i'm sure walt didn't need the money...

one of the 5 best athletes i have seen play at Akron...has to be #1 or#2 best corner at least...maybe victor green is there with him...

i talked to a guy i work with who lives near the coach and talks to him fairly regularly...the gist of what he is getting is that this is the year brookhart has to do it or...thats why he brought in all the JC's...says as of now bain will play...worried about the running game...if AA doesn't come back...look out...

couldn't beat 'em in football the last 2 years...now fuffalo beats the b.ball team in Akron and is rolling in the MAC...that team up north...

He probably makes twice what JD makes just to be a coordinator at a BCS school. not hardly...

if AA is fully healthy he saves the offense next year...but...coming back from an injury like he had is iffy at best...w/o kennedy and his 100+/game no running backs except AA have any significant time...

yes it was...the zips are that bad...as is the mac...don't knock any of those mac teams that went to a bowl and oh ya..had a winning season...those teams you think are so bad beat beat the zips......at least the restrooms at the INFO will be better...

You're right in one sense GP1. It says what a chickensh__ idiot Hoke really is. I lived on the West Coast for many of the last 20 years, and yes the weather can be wonderful. Before I move on to Hoke though, for those of you who have never lived in a "one season" place, it can be great, but can also get tedious, boring, oppressive. I missed the seasons terribly while I lived out west, and other than February and March here, don't miss west coast weather at all.Now back to Hoke. There is no trading up in going to SDSU to be the head football coach. Of all of the college programs that came to mind for most football fans in that part of the country, SDSU is never mentioned, nobody cares about the program, it's a doormat, a running joke. Let's talk $$$ too. That 700K salary may not even buy him much of an increase in quality of life. It won't buy him much of an increase in exposure, it won't buy relevance to college football. Unless he's from California and just wanted to get closer to home, taking the "step up" (???) to SDSU is not a step up at all.Lastly, coaching is not a profession wherein the weather should dominate your decision-making. Many of the best coaching jobs in the country are in terrible places for weather. You tell me about a football coach who would run to a SDSU to take over the program because the weather is so beautiful, and I'll tell you about a complete d-bag. GO ZIPS!SeeTeeZipInteresting note. It's a classic "Surfer U" where parents dread that their kids will go there and become 50-year-old pot-smoking, pot-bellied surfer bums. Their football program is a door mat, and will continue to be. Hoke may get a little more sunshine in his eyes, but he sure as hell hasn't made the type of Urban Myer move many otherwise expected. And lastly, I get a little touchy about the loser mentality that we so often see and hear here. I made the very conscious decision a few years ago to move back here, from the West Coast by way of WDC. This area is hard hit economically. However, this region takes a back seat to nowhere else, in any substantive way. Get some sun and you won't be so angry. like your comment...i was born here but lived in texas and arizona for a number of years...came back only for family reasons otherwise would be in AZ...if you like it here thats fine..but there are more opportunities of every type southwest and west...the weather is the icing(so to speak)...read that Hoke was miffed that bsu didn't want to pay his asissitants what they deserved...good for him...he gets a raise AND all that potential with those cailfornia athletes...oh did someone mention the weather?
