  1. He probably will: - 4 straight Wagon Wheel wins - 1 MAC East Championship - 2 bowl appearances I would be surprised if we see any changes this year, despite what happens for the rest if the season. Most G5 schools do not have the same depth to get past injuries to key talent. We are getting better in this area, but we will never be in a league with P5 in terms of recruiting depth. There is a limited talent pool available to G5 schools and that isn't going to change.
  2. You have to wonder why not? It not only gives us our best chance, but gets these young receivers running routes over and over. They need the practice.
  3. We won't, but I wish we would. It seems pretty clear that we are not going to improve this year and that the run game hinges on Council.
  4. My forecast: most sacks by Zips D of the year
  5. Regarding this and rushing, how much cam be attributed to KN1 hanging on the ball too long trying to make a play?
  6. Is our offense under-achieving or inexperienced? Apart from Kyle Ritz we do not have a senior on offense leading the way. All of our big plays are being made by freshmen and sophomores. This has a lot to do with why we we were picked to finish 4th in the MAC. At times, they show flashes of greatness but have not matured to consistency.
  7. I hope that clip surfaces... although a team with an 0-5 start has little room to mock anyone.
  8. I think records get thrown out of the window for rivalry games. KSU came to play. They thought they could win. KSU has also had some OK games, despite their record. They are defenitely not last year's KSU. I tip my hat to KN1 for playing his heart out. I am still not sold on him, but he put it all out there, today. Bowden has said we need someone who can take it to the house and it appears to be KN1 until someone else steps up. The defense started to look like the old defense, today. Jamal Davis had a huge game and Brock Boxen showed us why there was excitement before the broken leg. Any idea when Bell will be back? Is it injury or discipline related?
  9. Scott Frost finally gets a win....against PJ Fleck.
  10. The snap wasn't great, but the shingle star if our special teams, and pre-season Holder if the Year candidate, Kyke Foster, would have put it down for a kicker.
  11. Good grief...it's a miracle Kato didn't fumble it on his last play in regulation. You cannot flail the ball around like that with one arm while being sacked. Wrap it up.
  12. Works well on Firestick.
  13. I will agree and disagree. Yes, get rid of the RPO. It has been a disaster for us. Kato had success and fell into a rhythm against Miami, early, when we ran very short pass plays. Where I disagree is that I think Kato looks for receivers 1 and 2 and then runs if nothing there. He is interception prone when he tries to extend the play, too much waiting for someone to get open. But yes, keep it simple. 100% agree with Wolfley. I had not paid attention to his blocking and that could be why we do not see him more. Council was a complete stud until he got hurt. We have depth, they are just inexperienced. About 1/2 of the OL are either R-Fr or true Fr.

  15. They really are bitter.... Kangaroo meat served to Nebraska school students, superintendent says
  16. I agree with barn-burner, but think it will be a defensive brawl. Zips win 21-17.
  17. We have not seen a trick play all year. I would say we are due for one against Kent, even if it is just the play where Kato catches a pass. I wouldn't mind seeing us try a reverse, with Knight, either. It's time to move on from unproductive seniors on offense at WR, TE, and RB. Let some of these new guys get the experience and make plays. Also, not a lot of looks to Nate Stewart. That also needs to change.
  18. Last 2 endzone throws by Kato could have, arguably, should have been caught. 10-6 is not bad considering the offense. Agree with Captain, defense in the field too much. Need to see some tosses to Stewart and Wolfley to allow Williams to get open. I might even try to get Van Edwards in space on short passes.
  19. Great run by Sands.
  20. That 4th down call reversal was a complete miscarriage of instant replay.
  21. He was in last week. I am excited to see what he can do, too.
  22. Nice stop by the Zips.
  23. I think the coaches have allowed Kato to hold onto the ball too long, because he can make plays, at times. When Woody was first a starter, it was look for the first two receivers and run. Kato might benefit a little from that. Yes, it wont fix his mechanics, but might prevent some of his mistakes and he might find a rhythm easier if he is picking up yardage with his feet. I think Ramart can do the same thing. He might not have the big yardage ability with his feet, but Ben Roethlisberger has not made a career being fast, but when he tucks it and runs, he is effective. I do think that Buffalo is actually a favorable match-up for us and am expecting a good game. If I made 3 changes it would be to start Wolfely over Willams, not throw to MTB and move him back to HB, and give more Carries to Deltron. I think you have to give Kato one more half, or at least the first quarter. We won't have Alvin this week and that will be a big loss for us.
