  1. Given the limited time coaches are allowed to work with players, it would bot ve enough to fix Kato's issues. That instruction is usually off season, at the player's initiative. I agree...I am ready to move on from Kato. Rammart has seemed nervous when he played, but he seems to be more systematic in his approach. I would like to have seen more from him, by now.
  2. I do not know much if anything about QB mechanics, but inconsistent accuracy almost always points to a problem with form or mechanics. I wo der if he has ever received much of any instruction apart from his father?
  3. Cheer up Zips fans....Nebreaska is 0-5 and they play Northwestern this week.
  4. The loss against Miami was a terrible game and let's pray we never see that version of Kato, again, ever. If half of his passes would have been better, we would have had a chance. WE are going to live and die by Kato, this year. Buffalo is good this year, but we can match up against them, well. there strengths can be handled by our D if our O plays as they should.
  5. The offense has really put all of the pressure in the D, today. Pretty poor game, so far, by Kato.
  6. Complete joke.
  7. I can live with the targeting....glad he sounds OK. It sounded scary.
  8. They have not shown Davis down..it sounds like a bad injury.
  9. Very unusual for Balsy to give up sonquickly....thinking ESPN+ has something to do with it. Nice grab by Davis.
  10. Kato made a good choice to tuck it and run. He has to continue to work with what the D gives us.
  11. Disappointing start by the Zips.
  12. In addition to Davis and Ward, Jest has really been getting after it, too. Look for him to continue to improve and to be an impact player. Our passing game fell flat against Miami. Whether it is receivers getting open or Kato making better throws, it has to be better.
  13. Wendy's trolls Nebraska, Scott Frost with 'Frosty' jab in blowout against Michigan
  14. About to drive through Lincoln...with my Zips shirt on. Wish I had time to troll and take a selfie in front of the stadium.
  15. Coaching had nothing to do with failing to get the ball to wide open receivers. That's the biggest reason we lost, followed closely by Special Teams.
  16. Yeah, I am guessing Moos is putting on a show for their fan base, who did not believe we should be paid, and will quietly pay us in full after it has died down. They went ahead and found an FCS team after their program started in the dumpster and we beat NU. They are quietly realizing that cancelation may have very well saved them further embarrassment.
  17. I don't think they can just arbitrarily do that. The contracts is really in our favor.
  18. Mostly agree. I think we can force the QB to make errors, too by pressuring him. Their secondary misses a lot of tackle and I would love to see us exploit that.
  19. Some interesting stats from GoZips.com heading into Ames: "In the NCAA statistics, Akron is the national leader in red zone offense (1.000). The Zips also rank No. 11 in rushing defense (81.0), No. 18 in turnover margin (1.00), No. 21 in redzone defense (0.667), and No. 32 in scoring offense (40.0). Individually, junior CB Alvin Davis, Jr.(Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) is No. 1 in interceptions per game (1.5), No. 1 in total interceptions (3), and No. 11 in passes defended (2.0). Senior LB Brian Bell(Valdosta, Ga.) is No. 4 in passes defended (2.5). Sophomore QB Kato Nelson is No. 13 in passing yards per completion (15.42) and No. 17 in yards per pass (9.43). Junior LB Josh Ward is No. 18 in sacks (1.00)."
  20. Loved every word of your write-up UA1987.
  21. He did not actually body slam him. The call seemed reactive because Bell really manhandled the guy.
  22. Looks like NU is finalizing a deal to play Northern Alabama on Oct 27. That did not take long to settle after we beat Northewestern.
  23. Overall, I liked the way they ran out the clock. That last play did not go as anyone expected and it did work out. I was a little surprised with the play call but the explanation made sense. The other option would have been Nelson doing a quick kick, but that seems far too risky.
