In case you missed it from signing day presser, Woody had surgery (did not disclose type) and won't be able to practice until at least June. Johns and Nelson are the leading contenders to compete for starting job.

I agree with your assessment of the QB situation. From what I hear Nelson is extremely athletic, so I don't believe Johns is a slam-dunk. If you are a head coach, Happy Valley is a tough place to start a RS Freshman. It might be a situation where we see one starter for OOC and Tommy is ready before we get to MAC play. It will be a real tough few months for Tommy, while he rehabs. Hopefully, he is spending that time studying film, like there is no tomorrow. Found lack of questions from the media, dumbfounding. George Thomas is going to write another article about the QB question, and that's it.

It's not unusual for PWO's to sign some other type of letter to participate in NSD.

Mitch Cooper and Weiland will almost certainly be PWO.
