  1. Wow... seems like a major overstatement.
  2. I am not sure why there is so much criticism for Edwards. I thought he performed fairly well for an offense that revolves around the pass. He isn't Ball, I will concede that, but he is at worst, an average MAC RB. He might not rank with Ball, Kareem Hunt, and the upper echelon, but he isn't terrible. There were games where he and Morgan were able to pick up around 5 yds a carry.
  3. It would have been a mistake for him to go in and try to replicate the persona that was Fleck. The kids would have seen right through it. Looks more like a Dabo than a PJ.
  4. Let's observe a moment of silence...
  5. And their parents' ego, as well. I know of one former players' parents who were upset that he was not played after a concussion. Just because people complain, doesn't make it valid. I don't think Jerome Lane even showed up for the awards banquet. I don't think there was any doubt that JoJo deserved that award and it's too bad that his mom had to take to social media about it. No, people just get tired of every thread turning into an anti-Bowden thread - there have been at least three in the last week. Does every discussion have to be about what is wrong with the program? LTT served us well and we served him well. There seems to be no ill-will towards Akron. There is a presumption of ill-will, by some, but that does not make it so. Gehrig Dieter took a shot at Alabama and it paid off for him - he got to play in the CFB championship game. There is a glass ceiling for MAC schools and LTT is talented enough to play for one of the higher ranked schools - why wouldn't he, if playing for a national championship is a dream?
  6. Let's see who can turn this into another who can trash Bowden first thread, because every thread should be reduced to that.
  7. And Dieter to 'Bama.
  8. He was kicked off the team in 2015 and he was still an undergrad. So, I am wondering if his enrollment at Akron counted as an undergrad transfer? When did ne actually enroll at UA? Is it possible he enrolled for fall and finished a class from Michigan via the web or something to satisfy graduation requirements? He is a very good tackle and has a real shot at an NFL career. He was a top recruit in 2013, and according to this article, burned a recruiting letter from OSU. I had not realized that he was a four star recruit. By the looks lf it he bleeds Michigan and if he is returning, it likely more of a matter of his love for them more than his dislike of Akron. I wish him luck. It seems like he has worked hard and learned some tough lessons.
  9. Yeah, I, thought Quigley looked great and agree we have some nice depth there.
  10. You are right: painful. So, does Harbaugh let him back on the team?
  11. He probably finished in the summer but walked in December.
  12. One going to the NFL, one going to his 3rd school. Not really that unusual for D1. But, I guess if there is a negative angle to be four.... I noticed he has a Michigan banner on Twitter. Not sure if he never bothered changing it or if it is new.He also has this as his pinned tweet.
  13. Then there aren't too many opportunities out there since a total of 2 have gone...
  14. This is where finances come into play for some kids. Unless you upper middle class, it's hard to turn down free versus the cost of full tuition at OSU. If money is not an object, he might take his chances at OSU.
  15. I really want us to have a player named, "Bubba."
  16. Also plays WR - some versatility. Looks like he would be a nice catch and per 24/7 sports, it looks like we had been recruiting him. And Malik Woolridge is already recruiting him.
  17. My apologies, on my phone, it looked like you were quoting me. However, you cannot ignore the loss of 13 scholarships and post season play when you factor in subsequent years at Auburn.
  18. When did I say anything about Auburn? And I don't agree with your logic. You can have a completely loaded team and fail to deliver an undefeated team and unofficial national champiinship. And who sold I or anyone else is giving him a pass? Recognizing that things happen beyond human control is far from giving someone a pass.
  19. +1 to both Balsey's and the Captain's posts. This is something I have thought about recently. We are still overcoming the notion of the barrel perception and it takes a little time to dig out from under that. I saw a comment, recently, about a P5 school not wanting to be the type of school that, "plays schools like Akron." I have said before, barring the onslaught of injuries that sinks us this year, we would have had another "good" season and gone to another bowl. We almost made it, with a pretty rough season. Given the loss of our front 7 on December, a good season would have been acceptable to most of us, given where we are on curve of developing as a program. It takes a couple, or even a few "good" seasons to get the depth needed to overcome the injuries we had this year. A great team has great talent, depth, and a fair amount of luck. Yes, strength and conditioning can help prevent the injuries, to an extent, but only to an extent. We had pretty bad luck with injuries. It created a QB crisis and took our defense from bad to worse for a few games. If we stink it up next year, I think there will be a lot less patience and understanding, but with the return of most of our offense, and the development of more options at QB, the development of our defense, a Pitt transfer at LB on the roster who will be eligible to play, the recruiting class, plus whatever transfers we inherit, I am optimistic that we will return to the upward trajectory.
  20. I am looking forward to this coming out on video, based on this review.
  21. My issues with him are about his over the top, it's all about me persona plus the whole rumor of an affair soon after losing child, and then having the nerve to market (more or less) the horrible story of losing a child and then freaking out when other schools make fun of the RTB mantra...and by the way, word is that Wisconsin was singing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" after the Cotton Bowl. To me, college football should be about the student athlete, first. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I won't feel about feeling like he is a punk. I don't begrudge him getting a better job (though better is debatable in the case of Minnesota.) I thought it was great for Babers to go to Syracuse. I just don't like Fleck.
