GP...I think you're shooting the messenger here.The decision to dump the Akron game was Gary Stark of Channel 5, not the Beacon Journal.If you decide to air a game, you should man up and stick with it regardless of the number of complaints you think you're going to get....especially with a yawner like OSU-Northwestern.At first, I thought Channel 5 may have been required to cut to the OSU game because of a contract....as it turns out, they just didn't have the stones to stay with the Akron-Can't State game.

Has anyone ever seen the Innerbelt after the fireworks?As for the cussing, unfortunate, but to be expected to a degree.While at the Wing Warehouse for the OSU game, the Buckeye fan sitting right next to my 9 year old started yelling:"O freaken H-" (except he didn't say freaken)expecting an "I freaken O" in return.To his credit, he didn't repeat it as I said something to him.So, at least he's got that going for him....which is nice. Great...thanks.By the way, I know it would be tough to do after a loss, but I think going over to the band and playing the alma mater even after a loss would show a lot of class.I know we can't do this, but I thought it was super cool the way the Zips went over to the Army band for their song, and then Army coming over for our's.I just wish we had played the alma mater instead.Thanks again.

Suggestion:How about this:If the team keeps coming over to the band after the game, we play the Alma Mater instead of Blue and Gold?...like Navy and OSU.Not that I'm trying to copy them, but I think it would be a nice show of respect to the school and it would start a new tradition.The euphoria of winning the wheel comes over to the band....everyone quiets down and stands, then immediately after, all he!! breaks lose...how cool is that?I think when they play each schools alma maters after the Army Navy game is one of the coolest things in college football.

I was thinking that too.I've compared the pictures.The guy holding the wheel looks a little thick to be Jackson.I compared everything, even down to the clear face mask plastic.But now that someone else has said it, I think you may be right.Why do the Zips have two 7's?I'm surprised the conference allows that. Are you serious? Look at every roster in the country and you will find multiple numbers. They just can not be on the field at the same time. You hit the nail right on the head, Zip81! It may have been "only" 22,000, but the atmosphere was outstanding. As much as I dislike Can't, I hope the football rivalry just continues to grow. I've been to VERY FEW games at the bowl where there was as much excitement and acknowledgment from the fans (on both sides, especially YOU, you A-K-Rowdies!!!) throughout the game. It was a wonderful day indeed! I haven't felt that kind of college experience at the Bowl since our card section back in the late 70's.
