Acme-Zips was exciting.In addition to the discount tickets, it was truly a community tradition.I'll never forget the hundreds of paper airplanes the kids would throw into the end zone on the closed end.A D II team packing in 35,000, sometimes even more, every year.It was very difficult to watch it wither away into nothing.Why did it die? Changing times? Inept marketing? Competition for the entertainment buck?It was also disheartening to see only five or six thousand the very next home game.By the way, I've been watching our band since 1977. I have never seen them suck. Not as good in some years when compared to others...but they never sucked.An impressive memory is when the drum team used to line up for a solo and the guy on one end would throw his stick all the way to the guy standing on the other end....very nice!

Why do I not know of Schroeders? Was it there from '77 to '81?I remember Wannamaker's over on Perkins...hot spot every Thursday night....that also had a beautiful bar...they ripped the whole thing down.

Somewhere along the line, it has been inferred that these comments were directed at Will.They are not.He was very impressive. I just don't like that going on during the game.Imagine if you were at a visiting stadium and they did that. I just think it doesn't have class.Halftime...fine. But if you want him to cheer lead during the game, give him a bullhorn and put him down with the cheerleaders...not on the stadium sound system.IMHOAs a communicator, he was very effective.

Personally, I can do without the guy on the field with the mic.It's OK for halftime, but not during the game.In addition, it would be nice if the pinhead in the press box could wait until the band is done playing and leaves the field before blaring the music on the scoreboard speakers. What's with all the music lately? Let the bands play. Don't drown them out. During the game too.Let's not turn this into an NBA game.geesh
