I think I jinxed Freeman. Starts the 2nd half with 3 missed shots and an offensive foul.
-
Freeman seems to be the only Zip stepping up his game. Other than him, does any Zip stand out for his offense or defense. A lot of terrible passes and the end of the half was another turnover. Just not playing with any discipline. You would not think that this is a senior team. We really need one of your guards to stand out and take control. Really miss X.

We went 8 minutes without a basket. Hard to believe with all that talent and experience that nobody could put the ball through the hoop for an extended time period. The last 4 minutes we are finally making some shots and forcing some turnovers. Need Hunter to get more involved down low. He needs to show some senior leadership,

Nobody can make an open shot. We need a scorer!!!

On that last possession a lot of passing but nobody wants to take a shot and leads to a turnover. We saw a lot of that in the tourney. Need to shoot when you have an open J

Yikes!! Looks like a Covid game. No fans?
-
But we took out the seating behind the basket so 6 people get to drink cocktails at a small table behind the basket. We need to fill those tables!!!

I did not know that Ali had suffered 2 severe concussions at Butler last year. My son suffered a severe concussion while playing soccer and it did affect him mentally after the concussion. It seems like Akron's argument is that Akron will give him the support he needs in order to be successful where Butler did not meet these needs. I think Akron would have a stronger argument if Ali was from Akron and he needed the family support instead of moving away from the family support. As basketball fans we only see these players as athletes and not individuals who will need to navigate life after basketball. Regardless if Ali plays this year or next year, I hope he gets his degree and learns to deal with his mental issues in order that he can be successful post basketball.

It looks like the game is being streamed on the mountain west network at 10 eastern and it looks like it is a free stream. Lets hope we play better than last week. I know that Groce always stresses toughness. I cannot say that this team is a very physical team. We are athletic but not very strong. If we are not a physical team, we better be able to shoot from outside.

I thought the fake punt was so predictable I had my eye on the up men blocking instead of the kicker. If I knew it was coming, why couldn't our football coaches figure this out. I thought that was the turning point in the game because they scored the go ahead touchdown. And for those looking for a good point to the end of the season, Cuffler's last pass of his career was not an interception.

Actually, on TV the visitor side looked like to had some fans so I am sure some OU fans boosted the attendance but nowhere near 6000

I am impressed that they have not thrown in the towel considering how bad the season has been. Would love for them to come away with a win. However, this season has not gone well even when we have a lead. Need to come out in the 2nd half with another scoring drive.

If he is on track to graduate this spring then he will not qualify this year unless the NCAA changes their decision. As the season progresses it might just be best for Ali to play next year.

I did not know that Ali had any mental health issues. So there was an issue for them to consider.

That is not a surprise to me. He decided to leave and then decided that it was a mistake. Even if he had an attorney, I fail to see the argument about a hardship. I hope he graduates and becomes a grad transfer after first semester is completed.
