Okay so we won the game, but I guarantee that if the Can't receiver makes the catch at the end of the game and we lose, we would be calling for JD's head. The first half of the game was miserable. I think the beach ball did more to keep the crowd in the game than our team. There are things that bother me about this program and a major major one is player retention. What if Harvey was playing in that game? We had walk ons playing.....not all guys we originally had on scholarship. I really do not think we will win the east. Can't played just as sloppy as we did, and that is why we won.

In my opinion, the atmosphere at this game was better than the one in 2003 when the attendance was over 26000. The fact that student turnout is increasing every year is very positive and that is how you increase attendance in the long run. Plus, the students are what gives the game a college atmosphere.

I mentioned it in another thread already, but it was embarrassing listening to the Fuck Can't State chants all game long. We've complained and complained about that coming from Can't for years. There is no reason that we should have been doing that. I was impressed with the quantity of the student section today, but the quality was severly lacking. I know it's a rivalry game, but come on now. I was sitting on the press box side and, fortunately, couldn't hear any of that.You are correct. There's no place for that in the Rubber Bowl. Many of the students that started those stupid chants were not AK-Rowdies. They were the same students that wanted to storm the field, and the same ones who printed up the "golden f.lashers" signs (If you saw those, I'm so, so, very sorry), and the ones who were stealing the "Roo Zoo" signs from the railings, and the ones who were intentionally destroying the bleachers for amusement. The Wagon Wheel games bring out the best in some, and the worst in others, and that goes for both schools. The signs were very inappropriate. I did not take one.

On a related note, how pathetic was Can't's band. Ours was practically double theirs and performed much better, Once again, the zips show up the flushes.

Unless CSU is going to be a glorified branch campus and Louis Proenza is the leader this is a horrible idea. We are miles and miles ahead of cleveland state, and making students drive all the way for cleveland for classes does not make sense. I suppose they can integrate NEOCOM into CSU's campus, but then what? I do not want them to take away what we have worked hard to build over here.

This is not a very good Akron team this year. If we were a top level mac team this would look pretty bad, but Indiana is going to win games this year while the zips may struggle a bit.

Good for Charlie. He gets bailed out of this sinking ship. Seattle has a pretty stable organization right now, and he will learn a lot. I actually feel bad for Brady Quinn.

Come on guys.....what's with the constant pity parties? I'm more pissed off at our offense than the buckeyes. Akron is going to be fine. Student support is getting better and better which will translate to more alumni support in the long run. I'm sure the community will embrace the new stadium as it will be a nice place to watch a football game. Like the buckeye said, OSU has been good and famous for a long long time and they got the traditions to prove it. Lets get some championships under our belts and our own traditions and things will come together full circle.

Bottom line is that they both sucked and so did the rest of the offense. I feel bad for the guys who busted their tails on defense. They deserved much much better than that pathetic showing. I agree.....20-2 is not competing. I needed to see more from the offense to convince me that this team might be good this year.

Offense is horrendous. You can't beat Indiana if you can't score points? Why are we so bad on that side of the ball?? Brookhart is an offensive guy. Even with Getsy and Harvey and Lindsey last year our offense was marginal at best. Now we can't even get a flippin first down. I would have felt better about this game if we would have put some drives together.

OSU 45 Akron 6Akron will get its touchdown off a turnover then miss the extra point while Jim Tressel will turn it up a notch after the alarming Michigan upset. He was a little easy on YSU.
