EMU hit a ton of tightly contested threes. I don't care about threes in general, I'm talking about last night.

It isn't like they gave up tons of open looks. EMU hit a lot of thought shots with hands in their face. You can't do anything about those.

For sure Aaron Jackson. Noah certainly could as well, I'm really impressed with how he carries himself during post game pressers and such.

He did look much better. He's cold at the stripe right now after a nice start to the season, but any production out of him is a huge bonus right now.

Is Akron's current recruiting method unorthodox? Absolutely. But the program doesn't need a ton of new players right now. Most that come in will either red shirt or grey shirt and end up in next year's recruiting class anyway. If that means more of the Brock Boxen and Jerome Lane type guys, I'm all for it. You have to do what's right for you.

Looks like CMU's loss to Eastern woke them up as they've played really well the last two now. Hopefully this loss has the same effect on the Zips and teaches them that you have to bring it every night in the MAC. I don't know that you can win a game where your opponent shoots 25-28 at the foul line and you only go 11 times yourself. It's the type of loss that should make this team better. We've just got to win the return game. We need to go undefeated at home in league play. Oh yeah, what the hell has happened to NIU?

They're 1-1 in MAC play with a beat down at home against EMU and a road win at BG. They're as dangerous of a team as you'll find in the MAC, but they don't play defense. I mean, EMU put up 99. That's insane. Just about everyone on their roster can shoot the three. Reggie put up 31 against them last year but I'm sure they learned from it and will be in his jock all night. Keep their guards under control and secure the perimeter. Go Zips!

Saying that teams don't focus on the perimeter against Akron so they drive to the basket and don't take and make a lot of threes is true. They don't drive on us because of our good three point defense though. They drive because the drive defense is the weakness, which leads to less importance of three pointers. That doesn't make perimeter defense your biggest weakness, it's still the drive defense. Don't overthink it.
